Thank you so much, I was just informed today that i have to prep a world book day costume for my son last minute and this is my Hail Mary, you explained it so well i bought the yarn and knitting needles off amazon and am excited to get started. :)
I just finished it!!!! Love it, it was a lovely tutorial. I had some mistakes along the way😅 but it was OK since it's the first time I ever knit I'm thinking about adding some fringe on both ends, we'll see
hello! when carrying up the yarn on the side do i have to alternate depending on which color i’m working on for every 4th row on each stripe or is it always the same? thank u for the tutorial and easy guidance btw ^_^
You will always be carrying the yarn that you're not currently using so that it's ready for when you switch to that color if that makes sense? But essentially you're twisting both yarns so both colors are being brought up the side. If you were working with three colors you'd be twisting the two colors not currently in use up the side so that they are in the right place when it is time to switch. Let me know if that makes sense! 💓
Hi, Michelle! Im new to knitting but not sewing or crochet. If I want my stripes to go all the way up instead of horizontally, should i do all the length i want the scarf to be and do it sideways instead of from the beggining to end? Thanks!!!!
Hi great vid btw! I’m in a bit of a pickle, I did 10 stitches for the two yarns I used but I’ve got the carry on string to switch yarn on the sides and it looks a bit weird. Is it fixable or do I have to restart?
Hi! after how many rows have you been carrying the yarn up the side? Normally I will carry it every two rows otherwise a long string will be visible. Let me know if that's helpful at all?
hmm it could be a problem with your tension, you could possibly use one needle size up and that might help. Is this happening in the very beginning of the scarf pattern?
i hope you find this helpful
JUST finished it!! It was my first ever scarf thanks to your instuctions which were soso helpful and clear! :)
happy to hear it worked out! :)

@@michellenia i think it does make sense, thank you so much for responding quickly
@@mio8981 no problem! There are a few detailed videos on UA-cam that might explain it better :)
thanks :)

hi! yes i would cast on the length you want your scarf to be and then knit it horizontally :) that will definitely work!
does the casting off process work the same if we did a purl stitch or do i need to do something differently?
if you did a purl stitch i would recommend to cast off purl-wise. "casting off in pattern" is something you could look up to help explain better!

@@michellenia thanks I'll try that with my next scarf!
I cant do the cast on, ive been stuck on it for an hour😭
I got a problem, so when ever i get the left stitches to the right needle it gets really tight and i don’t know why

@@michellenia yes, when I started knitting it was ok but then when I finished it was so tight.
how many stitches ?

My scarf curls on the edges. How do I stop this from happening. It looks like a sausage
