Couldn't agree more the Motorola's are definately the top made robust radio we use the xtnid. The screw fitting under cover is to screw a small retainer which makes the mic plug end more rigid when plugged into the radio.
Looking forward to a video on your programming and using it in the 'field'! Right now though, it reminds me of one of those expensive cars: lovely to look at but a bugger to run! :-)
Programming it is not user friendly but is very flexible. As for the radios, they are solid, reliable and great to use. Fantastic coverage and never a glitch. I will cover these in more detail in the future.
WAW i have these radios and mine have longer aerials on them, Mabey they were upgraded before i brought them. I found these AWSOME radios in the deal maker shop in our Area, It's a bit like cash converters, Anyway, the only thing wrong with them they only work on three channels because i think the other channels need unlocking, The other channels just make a loud buzzing noise, Can i ask your advice, Is there something wrong with them,or is it cause they need programming, If so i don't know how to program a radio. But at least i will know what is wrong with them, they work brilliant on the three channels that do work. So Mabey they do just need programming mate. A very good video mate. I am glad there are people out there showcasing these wonderful radios, there built really well a really perform well. And you can still buy the battery's for them to, which shocked me, because our battery's have recently died, and i thought i would never be able to use them again, But i go two battery's on AMAZON for just £43 quid, And they were even the proper Motor roller ones to. So i have my Baby's up and running again. FEW.

Very nice indeed. From what I can remember, this is the model a friend that's a security guard uses.
Yes, these are lovely radios. Just need to try a DP4400 now. Can't really justify the cost though :-(

Hi,
Does this Speakermic also work with the XT series from Motorola? That would be great!
Greetings :)
