The resignation likely happened to avoid the awkwardness of what actions he took, or did not take, in relation to the child sex abuse scandal. A new charismatic Pope distracted from that. Those scandals are always buried. How about the scandal being buried here in the U.S. in relation, to I forget his name, who was flying around with the high and the mighty and they were visiting his island. His friend Maxwell, a woman was jailed. We have to have transparency about sex rings, about the abuse or trafficking of children. We cannot even to even call ourselves a civilization until children are protected and their autonomy is not violated.
They want a Pope back who appears to have overlooked the clerical sex scandal. Pope Francis election distracted from that so maybe it should be revisited.. The scandal in the U.S. the woman Maxwell went to jail only. Amazing how these scandals get buried. Children need to be protected.

But over the recent past years, his false teachings are coming into clearer focus. The horrific destination they are leading us toward is coming more into view as the logical conclusion of our societal descent into evil. St. Francis' prophecy basically says that we must remain Faithful and True while others are falling away, and God will protect us.
I bought book in 2016 around that time. Prophesy fulfilled exactly. Everything is coming to pass. The cunning one picked the name to mock this Holy Saint.
Benedict abdicated by way of formal notice, or appeared to; and at least he took a back seat. Francis has been abdicating the papacy and abandoning the Church clearly yet informally in all his actions and words, but we are stuck with his mess. Everything Francis has said and written needs to be ruled as worthless before the next conclave so that the cardinals are on notice that they hitched their cart to the wrong pony, a similar replacement of which we will not follow.
He's no different than the other WEF leaders of countries who have left their countries in complete messes..
The other voting Cardinals had better wake up to what's happening throughout the world and read the writing on the wall. It's unfortunate the fate of the Church lies in their hands.

Pope Benedict XVI never said he was retiring. It did sound like that and of course, the media picked it up and ran with it but what he actually said was that he was stepping down from the “public office” meaning he was retreating from public view. Not, that he was retiring from the pontificate. He was an extremely clever and learned man who knew how to word his speech perfectly in order to suit those within who were putting him under extreme pressure to ‘resign’
No conclave should or legitimately could have been scheduled while a pope was still in office. Canon Law requires that a resigning pope manifest a resignation. That means actually resign, not promise to resign later.
By the very nature of the papal office, proper manifestation of a resignation would require (among other things) a real-time "I hereby resign..." letter (or statement before two witnesses), not a “I will resign in the future…” promissory letter. Properly manifesting a resignation would also require certain other inherently necessary actions. These would include leaving Rome and living elsewhere, resuming the pre-papal name, ceasing to wear papal garments, ceasing to wear the papal ring, ceasing to give papal blessings, and ceasing in any way whatsoever to give the appearance of acting and speaking as a pope.
The rarity of a papal resignation meant that proper procedures had to be thought out carefully. But this was not done. The cardinals are going to have to admit that they were at fault for holding a conclave prematurely, that is before a resignation was actually manifested, as required by Canon Law. The two-popes mess was a result of their improper and unconsidered action.

After all, the same forces wanted Pope Benedict XVI out of the way to make room for Pope Francis who was more ‘pliable’ to their demands and who they originally wanted elected in the first place.
I never felt like Francis was the pope and just felt hope knowing that Benedict was still alive and praying for the Church. A katechon of sorts.

The references to Pope Bergoglio, Pope Ratzinger, Wotyla, Pacelli, etc, are as common as the usages of their papal names. I've only ever seen Americans bothered by that.

Thank you Mr Stine for presenting the historical motion to the criminal court of the Vatican submitted by Dr. Cionci (pron. Chaunchee). It is the second practical and official act, after the November 2023 petition presented by Dr Cionci. These are also the only two practical initiatives to oust Bergoglio in a legal way. It is not something that has to be presented by Cardinals because the non abdication of Pope Benedict, according to UDG, art 76:
"76. Should the election take place in a way other than that prescribed in the present Constitution, or should the conditions laid down here not be observed, the election is for this very reason null and void, without any need for a declaration on the matter; consequently, it confers no right on the one elected.", states that not even a declaration is needed when the abdication does not follow the rules of Canon Law. That is the case of Pope Benedict's Declaratio, where the resignation was not in compliance with the article 332-2 of the Canon Law.

I'm pretty sure that the inhabitants of the diocese of Rome have the power to elect the Pope in the event of an absence of all cardinals. I think John Paul or Benedict stated that and it is also how popes were appointed in ancient times.

Even if Benedict's resignation is valid Francis' papacy can still be invalid, or lost by reason of the things he has promoted by word and deed. If the point is to show that Francis' papacy is invalid because the resignation was invalid then I think the effort would be better served by examining Francis. Benedict himself said he was no longer pope. No pope has the authority to split the office and I doubt any future pope will ever try that again. So what is served by this?
Benedict said there was only one Pope but he never said it was Bergoglio.
I need guidance. I converted to Catholicism about 3 years ago. Good friends and brothers and Mr. Stein I understand what 'schismatic' means. Butthe things Pope Francis has done are horrible. The 'Pachamama" scandal, the "Fiducia Supplicans' letter that is incomprehensible, the removing of righteous and learned men...I am convinced this man is not fit for the Chair of Peter. But there are churches here that belong to the Pious 10 society. The give the mass in Latin, with priest facing the Altar. If I attend am I excommunicated? What is a Catholic? A Catholic is a person who believes in the Nicene Creed, practices the sacraments, follows the teachings of Jesus Christ, and adheres to the revealed and time-tested teachings and laws with respect to faith and morals as promulgated by the Magisterium of the Church through Apostolic Succession, with the final authority to resolve confusion in matters of faith and morals being the duty of the Pope, the vicar of Christ.
At least to me that is what it is to be Catholic.
Is the present Pope a Catholic? If for instance Martin Luther was Pope at the time of the Reformation and tried to make the changes he did after he left the Church, he would no longer be a Catholic nor could he continue being Pope. He may have retained the physical office of the papacy, which spiritual authority in effect he would have ended along with efforts to end Apostolic Succession, and if effect he would have also departed from the Catholic Church. In such a case the cardinals who were validly appointed and loyal to the Church would have elected a successor who was Catholic and a true Pope. This Pope is just one more Luther who is unmaking the authority of Apostolic Succession and the authority of the Papal office. It is Francis who has departed from Catholicism and is schism with the Mystical Body of Christ.
Was Francis validly elected? No. Benedict was forced to resign likely with blackmail and intrigue by the Masonic and globalist forces aligned with and inserting Bergoglio in his place. Also, Benedict was careful not to resign all of his faculties during the election of Francis, which makes the election of Francis one in which only limited powers could be granted, and likely subject to checks by Benedict who did not leave the Vatican or appear to abandon his office. Then there is the issue of Francis becoming elected on false pretenses to impose an clandestine agenda essentially to use and transform the Church making the way for a globalist religion, essentially abandoning the centrality of Christ. These are grave sins and errors which will not rectify themselves in time or successive papacies whereby secular forces have institutionalized themselves in all of the high offices of our Church. ALL OF THE SKULDUGGERY HAS TO BE EXPOSED TOGETHER WITH THAT OF FRANCIS IN ORDER TO ALLIGN THE CHURCH WITH THE MISTICAL BODY OF CHRIST.

There has even been Protestant theologians who have written about the absence of "munus" in Benedict XVI's resignation. They made the same argument as stated in Toscati's article.
Since the alleged appointment of Jorge Mario pushing out Pope Benedict XVI while still remaining as Pope (a forced abdication with no voluntary resignation) I have been skeptical of the underlying intentions. My concerns are founded on having a committed Liberation Theology Jesuit who has also been, and probably still is, a "Peronista", overtaking the Papacy. I could have never imagined that Mao and Stalin's Marxism and Communism could infiltrate our church to that level, even though the Jesuit's had been since early 1970s where many of them compared our Lord Jesus to a murderer like Che as both equals and fighting for the same cause. The destruction of our church is now underway from within and from the highest levels, but somehow I still believe that our prayers will be answered and our church will prevail. Jorge Mario is no theologian and he is just a Marxist activist obedient to evil forces to destroy our church. We must resist trusting our Lord Jesus as the only Way, the only Truth, and the only Life for salvation.

The word "anti" in antichrist does not mean someone who is going to be openly anti (against) Christ. That word "anti" in the original Bible language can actually mean "IN PLACE OF". So could the bible antichrist be someone who has actually put himself "in place of" Christ? Well, we have further Bible evidence to support this. In 1 John 2:18-19 it says that there were "many antichrists", who "WENT OUT FROM THE CHURCH". In other words, John is pointing to the fact that those "antichrists" were WITHIN THE CHURCH!! Not only that, but Paul in 2 Thess. 2:3-4 calls the man of sin the "son of perdition". Now there is only one other place in the Bible where the name "son of perdition" is used, and that is in John 17:12 talking about JUDAS! And what was Judas? A professing follower of Christ Jesus. Someone who deceived from WITHIN the "church".

The Tribunal of the Vatican City State only has jurisdiction in respect of matters relating to the temporal government of the Vatican City State. It has no jurisdiction in respect of the Petrine Ministry or the administration of the Catholic Church. I'm getting really sick and tired of Francis trying to Canonize his peculiar version of Jesuit charismatic spirituality.
There's supposed to be plenty of room in the Church for all sorts of different charisms and spiritualities without any one being held up as superior or Canonical to any other.
Just as there's plenty of room for his spirituality there should also be plenty of room for contemplative and other traditional spiritualities without his incessant need to impulsively and rashly denigrate other spiritualities that don't suit his peculiar taste.

Almighty God must really be angry with us in giving us this man for our "supreme pontiff" as a punishment. If we'll know him/ them by their "fruits" then it seems clear his "spirit" is the prince of this world.
