Listen to those early Crowes records it's amazing how good a songsmith young Rich was. Dude is like 20 and knocking out classics.

Mmmmm ……. I’d say he was/is very clever . It’s really not that hard to “dissect” old Rolling Stones tunes (Open G tuning) and ad lib your own song off it . The Crowes were great at stealing what was useful for them and repackaging it . None of the music since the mid 1960’s is “original” , anymore….. especially in Rock N Roll

I think he’s just one of those people that has ‘resting bitch face’ but is actually probably a pretty good guy.

The Black Crowes the best band ever after The Stones . Full stop . I do agree with Rich every single words he said in this interview ,, you can't be friends with Recording label , 'cause if your band is not selling they will kick your ass with no mercy . Rich is a very very bright mind very very down to Earth

Chris was always 'mouthpiece of Crowes' BUT clearly articulate, intelligent, insightful, true artiest....but w/o the swagger, attitude, ego. Yang of what made Crowes one of best bands or past 25 years. I'd put them up against U2 any day

It might've been a blessing in disguise that The Black Crowes never became a big band. Instead of letting the labels tell them what to do, they made the music that they wanted to make.

Rich is right, the music business is just disgusting and has been based on greed for a long time! At some point we will never know what real music is again.

  • @gibsondrummer

When you realize that the music business is exactly that and they don’t fucking give a fuck about music and art and musicians and people
All they care about is selling product as fast as possible before the public becomes bored with it
Yeah my band had that existential realization too
