Congrats! Happy to see you! I was an art major-anything can burn us out, even fun stuff. Often it comes back, but it’s been fun if it doesn’t, thanks for everything I learned from you.
Congrats! Always prioritize your wellbeing and the wellbeing of your loved ones. When you feel that you want to post something go ahead, but first things first, live your life. We can wait and if you decide to never return is fine too. It has been a pleasure, thanks for all you did. Have a nice life!
Congrats! I noticed you missing but life is meant to be lived and support any decision that you make for yourself. On to the next adventure Engineer Man! Lots of love from SoCal 😊
I stumbled onto your videos back when I was in college man. You were the first tech / programming creator I watched and you inspired me to level up my game and really be invested in programming as a skill / technique - but also find the fun. Now I've been a tech lead for a couple years, and I never realized how much of those early days were due to you. Thanks man, wish you a most wonderful journey.
Congrats, Engineer Dad !!! Thanks for sharing your feelings and events. All seem a very natural progression to me (including the glasses, I finally needed those after 40 years of staring at screens...). Enjoying programming and projects is good. Enjoying your family is great. Perhaps one day you'll find a balance that will let you be excited about both, but my personal advice at this stage is definitely focus on your family.
The timing on baby might just be perfect for your needing a change! Just like you mentioned the project you and your wife are working on. This is an awesome opportunity to create- hear me out. You’ll find yourself deep in baby dad mode and there will be times you’ll think to yourself, why hasn’t this been created or automated , and I could do this better than what’s available, and why hasn’t someone come up with something yet… all these and so many more, and you have the power, programming power! 💪 Problem solve and innovate to make you and yours’ lives better and maybe one or more will build to something greater both for society and monetarily. Many tech endeavors have started in a garage. Maybe this is leveling up- starting in the nursery 🤔 😅 Oh and, write down everything. Because in your sleep deprived delirium you might come up with a crazy great idea but it’ll be gone before your lucid self returns 😂 Best wishes to you and the fam!
massive congratulations!! engineers perspective the first year or three are just basically just production maintenance tasks like keeping baby clean and fed then the change requests start rolling in, I read a tiny book "How to develop emotional health" by Oliver Sachs once and it was no use to me because I wasn't a baby anymore but it had some perspective I wish my own parents would have had
You'll definitely have a much harder time to find time for a project, but as you get the hang of fatherhood, you'll innovate. Anyways, there will be more ideas to come that will spur your interest back in programming, and some of it will come in part by thinking about how you'll teach the kid how to do stuff, and also how to coordinate with your wife. I, for one, would be interested in seeing practical life problems being solved with programming as they become more relevant. I remember having rearrange the bookshelves in one of my bedrooms and quickly drafting up a modeling application in HTML canvas to try out various layouts of the furniture while also being able to practically navigate the room. It was a fun project! Making fun games for the kids when they get older is also great!
Dude, congrats. Good to hear happy & healthy reasons you are MIA! Will be staying subscribed to hear from you as often as you have something to say and the time & the inclination to say it. All the best!
Mother of four boys here with baby hack for you.... Mayan Wraps. I could offer an endless list of what worked and didn't work. I could reassure you that God choose you to be that baby's daddy. And you could ask me how I did it, and could spend half a day explaining what I mean when I say by grace and mercy. I could recommend this brand of diapers or that kind milk. But at the end of the day - all my advice, like everyone else's is no more than what I believe worked for each of my sons, but there's only one thing that worked for all of them. And that's the Mayan Wrap. It takes a little getting used - it's a special blanket that you wrap baby in and then wrap it around you or mom and it ties by going through two metal hoops (like a motorcycle helmet fastens). Check it out online, but make sure not to get the knock off ones. Get a real Mayan wrap there less than $50 and will last through your grandkids. :)
You are one of only channels that go straight to the point with high quality videos. I believe most of your community(including me) prefer quality over quantity - so a big congratulations for becoming a father, and please take as much time as you need until you regain the youtube motivation again ❤
Congrats, it will be an amazing experience for you. I am 40, and my kid is 1 year old. I have been doing programming and have been recently laid off. I would day the professional decision you made is even make your journey with your family safer.
Thanks for the update - glad to hear you're doing well and congratulations! You mentioned something about photos for your family - have you looked into Immich? You may find you can contribute to it
congrats, it's all good. i think you've got good perspectives to share even if it's not specifically a programming thing you are doing on the channel, i think you could just be a pundit and add your commentary to programming news and that would be good too.
That's a lot of life events in a short time and its understandable that you couldn't put out content. Take care of your family and yourself first, youtube will still be here. Or not, doesn't matter in the long run, we'll wait for content.
Hey. You will LOVE it. It seems impossible but the moment you see it (yep, he/she is just "it" first few months... for men.. at least most of the men) but slowly and almost unnoticeable, you just become aware - you are not your most important and precious thing anymore. Very strange but most fulfilling emotion. Best of luck.

There is no man page for parenthood. All the best, don't ever feel you have to post videos if it in any way interferes with your family commitments.
