As good of a u-joint, front hub how-to video as I've seen. Excellant job of not making it look harder than it has to be.
Thank you 🙏
I liked that you gave the tech info like socket sizes and torque specs.
Thanks for watching 🍻
Good stuff. Easy to follow. Thanks for putting it out there
Great video, very informative and also high quality footage combined with useful tips and workflow. Thanks! Will help me with my hub and u-joint replacement tomorrow.
Thanks for watching I appreciate it 🍻
This video is super instructive! Immediately saved to my jeep playlist! Thanks!
Thanks for watching, I appreciate it !
Excellent video. I just bought all my tools to get this job done. This is my new favorite straight to the point video about this job. Subscribed!
Very cool , I’m guessing all went well. Thanks for watching 🍻
@@ATEMOFFROAD Yes sir. It did and the sound is gone and i’m back to happily driving the TJ again. And I’m glad I learned the job. MVP was my 4 banger Ford Ranger backup that got me from point a to b during the Jeep’s downtime haha
one of the better vids for this repair........thank you
Thanks for watching 🍻
Great video. Thank you! I'm about to install locking hubs on my XJ.
Nice , and thank you
Thanks!
This video is extremely detailed.
Thanks for joining me on this repair today 🍻
Excellent video. Thanks!!!
Thank you 🙏
Great 👍video top notch for sure 👌look forward to the next one
💥 nice 👍🏼 thanks for watching!
Excellent video! No nonsense, straight to the point. Thank you. I was on the right track, but the parts guy gave me driveshaft u-joints instead of axle u-joints! Grrrrr....
They do that sometimes! Thanks for watching 🍻
@@ATEMOFFROAD So as l said add the correct part numbers to your vide, then mistakes at the parts shop less likely
Great tutorial, thanks.
Thanks for watching I appreciate it 🍻
🔥🔥🔥
Another great and succinct video!
Thank you 🍻
Nicely done
Thank you 🍻
Great video!
It’s a fun little project, thanks for watching buddy 🍻
Super nice video. Good work
Thanks for watching
Thanks for the vid. Mine just broke on my XJ lol.
, it’s a fun little project, Thanks for watching I appreciate it🍻
Good video man! What’s the part number for the u joints?
so i just did the same thing but now my front drive shaft doesnt spin when i turn my front wheels by hand. what could i have done wrong?
Whoa Mr Fancy over there with a chisel. I usually just grab the nearest flathead screwdriver I find lol.
That’s fair 😂 I’ve done it 🤫
Jeep buddy of mine said it’s a good idea to do a little grinding work to axle shafts to accept full circle clips. Do half moon clips have reputation of falling out
On rear Dana 35s never seen this on the 30
Nice job man! I installed those powerstop brakes on my TJ as well. No complaints so far. Look into doing the Grand Cherokee Tie Rod upgrade. Very budget friendly and much beefier than the stock TJ tie rod.
Nice ! Is that the crossover steer kit your talking about? with heim joints? Thanks for watching
@@ATEMOFFROAD no it bolts on exactly the same way it currently does. It is just bigger in diameter and uses the beefier tie rod ends as well.
@@Yipping_Yeti nice , anything beefier I like 👍🏼
What year Cherokee do you get the parts from? I have a TJ and don’t want to spend $600 on the Currie upgrade lol
Edit: found an article online with the Amazon link to what I need. Definitely ordering that now.
Great video my three bolts that hold the hub on are corroded any good ideas on getting them off would be great
12pt socket, heat the housing holes not the bolts with map gas or propane’s, use breaker bar to release bolt! You Might even be able to do that by turning the wheel all the way over and access them from the back by the brake caliper to loosen them up before you Jack up and pull off the wheels. Good luck buddy thanks for watching 🍻
Great step by step video! About how long did it take you start to finish?
Thanks about a day I take my time to film too.
The Amazon link to the hubs says it does not fit the 2002 Jeep Wrangler. Also the U Joint says it’s for the rear drive shaft. I’m just wanting to confirm the links are for the right parts?
Thank you so much for letting me know this , as sometimes Amazon affiliates make changes on there end . I’ve updated the spicer front axle ujoints , as well as add hubs for 2000-06 year TJ. Should be all set! Thanks for watching I appreciate it
Looks like you used new grade 8 bolts for the diff cover? What size are those bolts? They thread into the housing with no tapping?
Yes no tapping , they are standard 5/16-18 grade 8 bolts I think they are 3/4” long 🍻
@@ATEMOFFROAD Sweet. Jeep looks great, I’m hoping to restore my axles in a similar fashion.
the diff cover doesn't have to come off? will the seals still work?
Nope , the axles just snap in and out, seals still work no leaks
@@ATEMOFFROAD thank you!!!
What wheels do u have
American racing AR62s
Hey do you think it’s a problem if one of the needle bearings is missing from one of the cops
Yes you need all the bearings
@@ATEMOFFROAD oh I kinda figured that. My other inner axle I couldn’t get the u joint cape to fully seat so I had to order a replacement. I think the ears might have gotten bent in a millimeter during removal of old one. Hopefully a new one does the trick. Thx for reply. Looks like I have to press out the old one looking for where it’s missing from
How are the hubs holding up
Hubs are holding up good! I have taken the wheels of since a few time and checked them , still good! Thanks for watching 🍻
Are these hubs still holding up 2years later
Ok. Now, What about all these Jeeps with Yukon Lockers up front !?!?!?. Will the Axle shaft simply pop out like this or ?????.
I think so not particularly sure on the front setups as there can be a few different variations, like hub locks etc! For the rear is a no , as you will need to un bolt the flange on the end to slide out the axle assembly. Thanks for watching 🍻
You forgot to mark the way it was for balancing purposes I didn’t and I had a small wobble
Would have been more helpful if you had shown the new Spicer U joint Part Numbers, rather than just the box they came in
Should have converted to manual hubs
Either Manuel or e locker soon 👍🏼
And thats why I sold mine. Always working on the da@$ thing.
Gotta pay to play 😂😂 actually the jeep is at 150,000 miles , no real issues on the axel, I can’t complain there , I just replaced these components as preventative maintenance! Im getting the axel ready for a lift too so I’ll be doing that real soon! Thanks for watching! Cheers
When one buys a Jeep, one must anticipate that one will need to learn to work on it. It saves the money instead of going to mechanics down the line.
Thanks!
Thanks for the Super buddy I appreciate it. 🍻
