She was very intelligent and absolutely beautiful. She didn’t get the credit in the 60’s she deserved, for not only being the greatest singer to come out of Britain, but also for her production of all her early albums, back when women weren’t credited with being producers.
I believe your right, Just been playing a tune " All cried out, " Couple of Decades ago or more there was a programme on about the 50s 60s, Who was Who ,Who died, scandals, These were very short clips 6 seconds give or take, Dusty came on with this Tune, Blink of an eye it had gone, Dam. I Taped a lot of those shows, 2 Decades later ? I found the title & Bought the The C.D. Much to my Horrer I Bloody lost the C.D I bought it again, As one tex says she didn't get the credit she deserved, "I Apologise for all that crap, " Dusty Springfield was a Wonderful person & from my time, & a lovely voice, I did buy another C.D Because she was in a class of his own, & YES, like so many of her Fans i miss Her. From myself & Fans & Family God Bless you My Dear. ❤❤❤❤❤.
That head twerking is too cute, she is the best singer in the world - what a vocal range - she can belt voice that rattles chandelier or whisper her singing - and still grabs you by the heart. Rest in peace, darling ... here's hoping you're still singing up there with all the angels
I'm playing are Dusty again, I can't Prays this Young Lady enough, This Tune has tobe my favourite, Dusty Springfield your long gone, " With Respect, " But not Forgotten, My Dear friend, God Bless you, ❤❤❤❤❤
Yeah, she is! A true ailurophile like myself. And don't forget that she had a long-term relationship with Norma Tanega who managed to straddle both the feline and canine world with her classic "Walking My Cat Named Dog."
@@MrSoulSimonMy dear little white kitty, Dusty, is now seven and I hope she makes it at least to 19 and maybe even to 23 which would surpass my longest-lived cat. Reading different biographies of Ms. Springfield it's nice to know that she was a cat lover too. How could she not be?
I've heard it said that Dusty would have made it in the US anyway, in spite of the Beatles and the "British Invasion". She was bound to appeal to a country that had given us Connie Francis and Brenda Lee. She was also a tireless in her efforts to get Motown exposure in the UK.
Dusty Springfield seems to be singing her vocal part of this son live on Mike, while the instrumentals and backing vocals are recorded. That takes skill and she had a lot of that, vocal and timing skills!
I love it too, but I prefer the reverberation and doubled lead vocal on the album version much better. However, the live version shows off her vocal prowess.
She was(in my opinion)most beautiful blonde singer in uk.backthen(even.if we know her natural hair was ginger),and she was sure one most versatile and talented european singer of the '60.'s
@@direfranchement It's been written that Dusty Springfield came from a very dysfunctional family. Her father called her "stupid and ugly". Not a good start, but a motivating one. Eventually, cigarettes, drugs and alcohol figured in. Unfortunate.

From the same show as The Rolling Stones second appearance. This appeared on the Dusty 'Once Upon A Time' DVD, but for some reason was cut out of the Rolling Stones Sullivan DVD and replaced with the second half of her first appearance singing 'I Only Wanna Be With You' (with the first half 'Stay Awhile' missing).
Great year for music 🎼(1965) I Got You Babe- Sonny and Cher. It's Not Unusual- Tom Jones. The Sound Of Music Soundtrack. Satisfaction-The Rolling Stones. My Girl- The Temptations
Great voice and great audio mix but are you sure you're not pulling the video transfer from one of my old 1980's Maxell VHS videotapes recorded in the 4 hour mode? Surely this couldn't have been transferred from the original 2" reel to reel videotapes using a decent video card and professional software!
@@spyderlogan4992 Yes, some of her songs are standards of contemporary pop - Look of Love, Son of a Preacher Man, Wishin' and Hopin', I Only Want to Be With You, etc. She was an amazing talent, very imitated, but unique. No one like her.
There was no one else like her. Beautiful woman. Her voice silky and smooth. They should have given her more credit for her music .

The greatest female Blue Eyed Soul singer of all time

agreed , and lovely words :)
Dusty Springfield takes an unremarkable early '60s song and STILL sings the lyric and melody with conviction and power.
Yeah, I never heard it before. Don't know why they thought this repetitive lyric would be a hit.
She sang wel in the eightys and in rhe ninetys too
Here is Dusty at her best, singing live on Sunday night TV. R I P Song Bird.
I love the way she fills in and improvises the instrumental break. It's amazing. Such talent....
Peerless. The greatest.
One of the singers who breaks your heart with her voice beautiful Dusty x
Imagine being there live 5/2/1965 at 8:00 to see her . This is UFB! I'm glad I was alive back then. She is the best !!!
Such a pure voice. Wish there were more like her around today..!
Love that clean cut look. Where has it gone?
Such poise. Such elegance. Pure Dusty.
Pure alright. No flies on her.
Dusty’s the best !!! Fabulous song … and not an easy one to sing !!!!
Dusty...my favorite "girl" singer when I was 8 years old and she still is !

She was just stunning! Her voice was so strong and beautiful! I wish she could have understood how remarkable she was! RIP sweet lady.
Dusty's never less than absolutely amazing! No wonder I named one of my cats after her!
i did too…
Hope Dusty is a cat lover. No disrespect meant.

I had many of her 45's! One of the greatest voices in Pop!!
But especially soul singer
Unbelievably good. RIP Dusty.
Dusty was amazing no matter what she sang!! I love this song and dusty! Rip dear lady!

So unique. Only one Dusty.
I love this performance.
Just Dusty! Love her!
Amazing DUSTY! Rip.

came to the US on the heels of the Beatles....Class act!

Love this song! Shoukd have bdn a bigger hit!
dusty S. had a distinctive voice and a nervous performance style that I found very charmingm😊
May be my fave Dusty song. It never gets old. I have it on an album.

ugh 😩 love you, dusty 🖤
A great, great talent doing justice to a superb song!
I'm sure this would have been a bit hit here in the UK had it been released as a single.
She was very beautiful.
She relied on heavy make up...rather like Diana Ross. Her features didn't age well at all. Great voice though.

the white lady of soul
Jazz trombonist Si Zentner has a version of this song that is much more uptempo.
Should've been a bigger hit than it was.
Contrary to "Branner"...good song.
I guess the micro was above her head. What a voice.. and today pop stars need all sorts of electronics and overdubbing to.create volume.
Great!
She sounds better live than the recording

Lesley Gore did a great rendition of this song. Both are really good.

Makes me think of Lady Gaga’s Born This Way music video, the bouffant, heavy eye makeup.

She's like an adele prototype
Gorgeous woman but too much makeup and bad haird9
well her hairstyle and dark eye makeup was a signature style for Dusty around that time.
Dusty was a great singer - but what a dreadful song.
and a dreadful comment
Not that dreadful, but certainly unremarkable for her otherwise fantastic catalog of massive popular hits of the era...

It is a dreadful song. She was a solid singer and even she couldn't do much with it.
She should have grown her hair long and stopped wearing those stupid wigs
That was her own hair !!! She had it pinned up
So am I,bad relationships.
A great song by a gifted singer!
