We are so blessed we can watch Bumrah ball live, unlike Barnes or Lakers.
Bumrah is a bowler with a batter's mindset. He is both an actor and reactor on the field.
Boom Boom Bumrah is a feeling and an emotion of an explosion.
We're lucky to witness him Live
You know it is peak Jarrod when cricketers are judged not amongst their peers but since the dawn of industrial revolution. Well done!
For context - Bumrah's home wickets are in INDIA, not the seaming conditions like England or Australia. Give him more credit for that? For the same reason, credit is usually taken AWAY from Tendulkar when compared to Bradman, as the best batsman/ GOAT. So far, Bumrah is clearly the GOAT with that 'Indian-batting-tracks' context
Exactly, whenever someone tells me Gavaskar played on uncovered pitches, I tell them he wasn't facing Bumrah. He is doing this in the peak batsman era.
@@rutvikrs Gawaskar was facing WI, didn't you see their pace attack ?
@@SushiWoosh that pace attack came together after gavaskar's legendary wi tour, no hate on him, just a correction, when he went there in his debut series, wi weren't that great.
@@rutvikrs This isn't peak batsman era. That was the 2000s.
@@Yash-ML-Sharma Think not just about "legendary batsmen" it's also about the pitches, run rates and format.
Bumrah could finish with 350 test wickets and avg of below 21.
Bumrah is a threat to the test avg of Ambrose.
Top class bowler JJ Bumrha
Bumrah takes 4.7wkts per test match.
If Bumrah plays 75 tests ,he could reach 350 test wkts
Unfortunately, you cannot extrapolate that way in sports. In 2019, you wouldn't have expected Kohli's test performance to have slumped the way it did, would you?
@@neoandleia
Yup and no one expected a bit of a Smith decline either.
@@7ChaosBlack Correct. Longevity is an important factor in determining greatness. It's difficult to maintain a high level of performance over a long time. That's why Adam Voges is not considered a great.
The greatest strength of Bumrah, other than his pinpoint accuracy and variations, is that he can look at any pitch in any part of the world under any conditions and he quickly deduces the length that will give batsmen problems. And more often than not, he’s bang on the money from the first ball itself. No looseners or warm up deliveries. He’s in the strike bowler mindset from ball one.
That stat regarding his match factor being second best in history when bowlers averaged over 30 is really impressive, that's the difference between someone like Anderson and bumrah, when there's a little bit of help ,when bowlers averaged 20 , Anderson can average 10 ,bumrah probably can't do that, but when other bowlers average 50 he can average 25,that's greatness
this is so informative and analytical...and we love it
You are the only genius analyst in cricket who is not bound by time, such a treat to listen to your takes which includes the vast history of cricket.
If he can continue this for another 150 wickets at least...There will be no shred of doubt for including him in top 10 bowlers EVER
He's already on that list even if he doesn't reach a huge amount of wickets
He is already top 10 all time bowlers nd he is already the greatest limited over bowler
I love boom to the death but the sample size here is pretty low for us to decide anything for the moment. In my opinion, longevity is the biggest factor. He is the best cricketer not even a bowler in the current gen but for us to include him in the all time list, let's just wait a little. That's my 2 cents.
@@GauravSinghgterritory No need to wait, he is already the greatest bowler of all time
@GauravSinghgterritory he's a little injury prone so he won't get to play as many matches and that will affect his final wicket tally. But he's been consistent for so many years and that's what earns him the ATG status IMO.
I've always enjoyed Indian batting but this guy is an absolute pleasure to watch even when he's destroying my team lol
Philander is higher on this list than i expected him to be,but probably on pitches where other bowlers were averaging 22 ,he averaged 11 ,because his country wise split is not that good, match factor is a weird metric but very important
And on top of that it's in an era where the rules and pitches are made to favour the batsman is just a Chery on top.
Test cricket since Bumrah made his debut has been more bowler friendly than ever.
I am not taking anything away from bumrah but in todays time hardly any match draws in last 5 years only 23 test draws .it take2-3 days to get result it aint batting friendly pitches
@@siddhantbaghel8038 Also to add to the point Australia and England are better places to bat!!!!
Imagine test bowling line up like this : Anderson, Steyn , Bumrah, Broad , Ashwin vs Macgrath, Wasim , Marshall, Ambrose , Murli .
Rabada also good maybe in place of broad
@@AmanKumar-up1ovrabada is very avg outside sa
Broad over Macgrath ???
Broad is overrated i will take pollock or cummins instead of him.
Cummins over broad
Bumrah is peerless 👏👏
Didn't know how good barnes was,i kinda believed that in his era players just took wickets at a much lower rate ,but as we can see ,bumrah and barnes are outliers, lets see what happens next for him
Indian pitches have always been spin friendly if not batting friendly..
BUMRAAAAAAAH… I watched cricket since 1983 and I would rate Bumrah with Marshal and above Dale Steyn. Of course, Marshal 375 plus and Steyn 400plus. Bumrah with his strenuous action need to check how far he goes. But, currently Bumrah is right there with Marshal. Marshal adopted top to subcontinent and was equally good in India Pak as he was in Aus England or WI.
Regardless of these comparisons - Bumrah is in a good company with names of Marshal Garner Ambrose McGrath Truman BARNES on the screen…! 🙂 🙂 Bumrah is a genius and I would have loved him same even if he was from any other country like Akram or Donald or Ambrose or McGrath or Steyn.. but yes he being Indian, just like Kapil Dev - make me prouder!
Genius Bumrah….!! Bigger superstar than anyone apart from Kapil Sachin Virat Sunil Dhoki right now! And none of them were ONLY a bowler!! 🙂 :! That says something!
Thank you this is everything. Nothing in my life feels better than Bumrah
Amazing channell.. So deep analysis..
Waqar younis prime was insane as well
Prime..... 😅😅😅
Pakistani bowlers were the first to do Ball tempering 😅😅 when no one was doing it.. Imagine if other Bowlers were doing same thing what Pakistani bowlers were doing...wasim and waqar would be the kids infront of them.😅😅
bro, I have been saying it. Bumrah is the greatest fast bowler ever. period.
Wow amazing work Jarrod.. loved it..
I hope BCCI really look after him and he'd able to prolong his cricket career.
We should celebrate Bumrah more
Fun fact : MD Marshal & bumrah has same height. 😅
Bumrah is a legend, i am even surprised he lasted this long!!! I was concerned about his action was too complicated and injury prone...may be i need some bio-mechanics classes!!
Without undermining his acheivments, i think the strongest era in cricket was 1995 - 2007 .In that era teams defended their home turf very well..WI,SL, PAK were strong teams. Australia toured well and so did SA .This is just my feeling, but i felt there was healthy balance between bat and ball the first innings of both teams generally were in the solid 350+ scores with pitches deteriorating as the match wore on. Now with WTC and points it appears that only bowling tracks are being prepared (everywhere with may be England being the exception). No doubt in any era he would have been a top guy, but i think his averages are may be inflated by the era, i would also look at Khagiso Rabada, Ishanth Sharma and James Anderson the latter 2 had better averages post 2018 than their career averages. Also Australia and England have been much better places to bat than India/South Africa over that last 6-7 years...
So, there should be a DNA test for boom.. he may not even be a human
Practically bowling version of ABD ❤❤❤
Bruh ABD? He is great but not an outlier like Bumrah.
@@indiaandtheworld9181 ABD is a huge outlier is ODIs. His strikerate * average is way high for his era.
@@ritwikghorui2731 likhne se pehle stats check kar liya karo. Warna besti hi hogi. First learn who is outlier. There are many players in ODI with similar averages and strike rates with ABD. Virat, Shubman, Amla and even Babar Azam have similar numbers. In next 2-3 years, Travis head will have better numbers. Tu Pakka RCB fan hoga
It's worth pointing out that after 37 test matches, Waqar Younis and Shaun Pollock averaged less than Bumrah's current average.
With fewer wickets though.
@@miloblackmetalhate Waqar actually had 45 wickets more than Bumrah at that stage of his career and Pollock had 4 wickets lesser than Bumrah.
This criminally understates the role of pitches and rules being rigged against bowlers now.
Also, if you’re being compared to WA in bowling, you’ve made it
Bhai whenever someone talk about greatness of Pakistan teams in 80s & 90s, I automatically reduce their achievement by 15% for that period. They highly rigged their home matches. Anything on pads of opposition was given out while Pakistani batsmen were rarely given out lbws.
They were bowling in the era where bowlers dominated. This era is batsmen dominated and with T20 cricket on rise we see batsmen playing at 90+ strike rate even in test cricket. Just like we rate Tendulkar above Virat we need to rate Bumrah over Wasim and Waqar. Only area where Bumrah lagging is the longevity factor
Jarrod i have questions , on which factor “match factor" depend? Bowling more overs ? Skills ? Ability to take wickets & concede less ? Condition u play in ?
Finally someone has the sense to appreciate the actual worth of BUMRAH ! Great analysis as always, but just one thing you missed. Bumrah is the only bowler to use slow Yorker in tests to dismiss the batter !
Finally ?
Great video … l love all those bowlers shown by you on the screeen… :) :) there are all heroes …! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
People really underrate his test record because of his white ball records
Did I heard it right? Did steyn bowled in a period where batter dominated? Really?
Thank god he is in our side 😊
Where can i find match factor statistics, can you tell me please
Could any record before 1970s or 80s be considered with the ones that come after that. It's almost like a different ball game
What a great video. Keep on making these type videos. Really want to know how good of a bowler he is even though i know he is great
The GOAT of Cricket.
How does he compare to Vernon Philander? I remember him have a fantastic start to his career
Bumrah is just bumrah nothing more to say
Jariod, reply practically. Compare their records versus australia, england and south africa. If you can? Let's see your verdict.
So bumrah is better than kapil
Yes he is
He is way better
anytime and waymore than kapil
Easily
Data says so.
GOAT 🏆💪✊
Please do a detail analysis on Kagiso Rabada.
Such a shame...a talent like him wasted in sa playing 5 tests a years....could have been at the level of steyn by now if sa was playing more
Bumrah is a freak
The infographic misses bowlers like Kapil Dev Kumble and Ashwin. Possibly many more
Imran Khan took 208 wickets from 1980 till 1988 at 16.8. No one has bettered that 40 match sequence.
Lmao random and irrelevant pakistani trying to put his country on the world map. Get a life dude.
He also had a batting average of 40.65 in those matches.
he was great but umpires did appeal for him in pakistan! and you could basically chew the ball once it was old
@@namansharma6296 yeah champ, sure. All 200+ wickets were taken with the help of umpires. Also, Imran introduced neutral umpires in 1986. Best cricketer from Asia.
Now he is in jail. May Allah bless pakistan army for this.
Good luck playing a full fledged attack of Bumrah, Shami, Siraj, Ashwin and Jadeja in India. You are just basically hoping that God helps you out, because you are not skillful enough to do that.
Siraj is overrated
@@arpanbera7655 the thing about siraj is we don't don't know all of a sudden what clicks.....usually he is an average bowler with decent pace late 130s early 140s,has a good outswing and a decent in seamer, hits the deck hard, all an all has decent tools and looks good but once in 10 innings he just flips out of nowhere bowl starts swinging and seaming produces unplayable deliveries and single handedly wins a match for you,hes is like an x factor....becomes prime Dale Steyn for 15 overs
After The Hindu full page article on Bumrah and Injury and Management Theory the Hindi commentator like Akash Chopra and Ajay Jadeja felt violated as researchers are talking up the task and they have to shame the research but also advise researchers to do more research instead of discussing the research in first place why Bumrah must be managed and what science says even Gautam Gambhir the Head Coach mentioned just briefly, so it's dishonesty on side of public broadcaster as they have always done since years. Just discovered your channel looking forward to watching your works as commentator aren't interested they are interested in 600 days since Rishabh Pant score 50 and Every India even publicly shaming Bangladeshi Captain that he's of less mind age and his on pitch, atleast have some data it looks like a personal attack not public education but a shaming entertainment cat fighting, so I prefer watching overseas cricket leagues and as regional league have commenting in diverse languages and even my own mother tongue commentator are so lame in Gujarati. Didn't see off the continent stats on Bumrah.
My top 10 test fast bowlers of all time:
1) Malcom Marshall
2) Sir Richard Hadlee
3) McGrath
4) Steyn
5) Wasim Akram
6) Ambrose
7) Imran Khan
8) Dennis Lillee
9) Jimmy Anderson
10) Jasprit Bumrah
Above all Bumrah is the only bolwer who can terrorise a batsman, put pressure and get out a batsman anytime, any enviornment, and at any situation and at any context. Thats why Bumrah is GOAT of GOATS.
Brett Lee isn't there i mean bro
@@ashishvaishya7721 averaged 30 in test so yeah
Glenn McGrath, big gap... Ambrose, Akram... For me. I dint watch cricket in the 80s
@@ashishvaishya7721 Great ODI bowler, but not elite in tests. I don’t even think he makes top 10 Australian test fast bowlers of all time.
graphics are wrong , jasprit bumrah wasnt on the list
Dont worry.. Sir Harris Rauf is catching up 😔
Wtf that guy can't bowl 5 overs on trot😂
Rather evaluate
Really liked this video
Waah kya analysis hai
Oversease is the name of the game. Now reply
He's the greatest bowler of the current generation but he lacks a fast bowler's swagger.
Fast bowlere are rockstars of cricket and are the most fun to watch. Bumrah's action run up and his personality are not what you want in a great fast bowler.
But his skill level is insane probably the best I've ever seen so ig that's what matters the most
Circumlocution
Bumrah not being the workhorse is a huge loss for himself & india. we will see it in this year's Border Gavaskar Trophy .
For greatness workhorse concept really matter during consideration of test cricket Goat bowler. India should use him , once Dennis lillee was also treated as same way as india do with bumrah but later Dennis himself shown his big heart & become workhorse
In this BGT. Australia will try to survive bumrah short spell (7 over ) & attack rest of bowlers . Mark my word !!
What is work horse
😂😂
@@AnkitChaurasia-du4lw but the problem is siraj!...mfk eat the aussie the last time he toured them
@@KICK839 siraj will go for a lot of runs occasionally taking wickets and then something will click and will bowl a 10 over spell on a trot giving 15 runs taking 6 wicktes and winning 1 match on his own
there's no bumrah i could find in the bar graph
Mohd Asif. Period
Lol, sure...
Lol. Considering how poorly a talent like Md Amir has tanked after being given a long rope, it's fair not to make assessments of a player on the basis of "What if he wasn't a sick corrupt bastard"
Pat Cummins is better than bumrah in tests.
Said no one ever
Cummins? Still riding the WC wave? He is good. Bowls longer spells than bumrah sure. But not effective in Indian conditions. Shami/ even Umesh can prove to be more lethal than Cummins in Indian conditions. In other conditions, Bumrah is still clear
People with an iq lower than 90 should not comment on this video
@@DrDothraki talking about tests. He is. He is better than bumrah in England and NZ. Obviously in SA and Aus. He is fast, accurate, consistent, steams in. Bumrah has more tools but Cummins anyday. Cummins better at producing wickets. He is reluctant. Yes bumrah is the best in the world across formats. And he is enjoying the peak. Cummins is the best test bowler for half a decade now.
@@amanbalyan3818 bumrah has a better average in england than Cummins, get your stats straight atleast, and he's only played two matches in nz
Let's see how many likes I get
0:50 I see MD Marshall's name after Barnes, not Bumrah. In fact, his name is nowhere to be found in this chart. Am I missing sth?
He hasn't named everyone because of limited space, though has highlighted barnes and bumrah, red is barnes and orange is bumrah
You can google bumrahs average as well, davidsons name is also not on the list
