Imo, 2020-21 was a once in a lifetime type situation. It’s like trying to capture lightning in a bottle. Won’t happen like that again. Anytime one of the big three play another in their home conditions, they would be favorites. I think the schedule helps Aus considerably, having Perth, Pink Ball Adelaide, and Gabba in the first three tests, giving them the opportunity to be 3-0 or 2-1 by the time they get to MCG. Sydney is always a high chance of a draw. Ind vs Aus has drawn in Sydney the last 3 times, with rain playing a factor. MCG is a recent India favorite.
One other thing to note is that if both teams are interested in rotating the bowlers because it is 5 match series - Pat Cummins being a fast bower and captain will have to play all 5 matches. He is pretty fit but he will be pretty tired by the back end. Unless they leave out the designated captain in a match.
There is one Aussie and that is Jarrod who is also English by residence. I think it is fair to say that Australia 3-2 India is quite expected. Then (I am an Indian), most Indians keep saying that they are unlucky they lost WTC or World Cup finals. Maybe we should say we are chokers and we hardly win big tournaments unless we encounter bigger chokers.
@renegadepuppy you are such a sepoy ffs. Nobody says india lost wtc because they were unlucky Australia were clearly way better in those conditions But for wc final indeed a lot of things went unusually wrong for india and a lot of things went unusually rigit for Australia 8/10 times india would have taken that game but this happaned to be the 2/10 chance
It would be 3-1 to Australia. We have a slightly inexperienced middle order that might prove costly. Kohli and Pant need to have absolute peak of a series for India to have any chance.
India is losing it 4-1 this time . The reason is simple . Last 2 times no one was expecting our team to win and australia was relaxed and got overconfident . Secondly pant was the X factor it was out of syllabus for australia think tank . This time they will be prepared for him . They will bowl slightly far way from off stump or attack him through bouncers keeping fielders at boundary lines at leg side and third man . That it . Rohit and kohli both will flop big time or will not play impactful innings to win because lets admit at this stage expecting match winning innings from them is too much of them . Game australia .
Last series Indian batting rarely fired. There were 90s, 50s, 60s mostly. The batting order was not even fixed. This year we have better Batting order for sure. Rahane's one match heroics can be replicated by KLR but Pujara will definitely be a miss. Bumrah has been better since 2021. Probably in his prime now. Shami's fitness is a concern but Siraj has only improved. Akashdeep has impressed aa well. We need proper replacement for Shardul Thakur. He was really critical in that series. A good number 8 on seam friendly pitches is crucial. I think Akashdeep can do that but we are not fully aware about his batting abilities.
Ah yes, India was so lucky in 2021 with all these lucky breaks: Kohli unavailable after the first test Shami getting injured from a cowardly bouncer barrage Rohit Sharma injured the first 2 tests KL Rahul injured the last 2 tests
I’d get Matt Short to open with Khawaja. Marnus, Smith, Head, Marsh, Carey, Cummins, Starc, Lyon, Hazlewood. Other options: Aaron Hardie, Cam Green, Glenn Maxwell, Peter Handscomb, Lance Morris, Jhye Richardson.
Australia will play a lot of seam bowling all rounders so they will have depth in their batting.Travis Head could also be a big thorn for India again. India needs to try some seam bowlers who can bat like Harshit Rana could be handy
Hardik is going to replace thakur as per sources , akash deep is already in team because he can bat as well {20~30 impact run at 10th} jadeja for the initial 3 test as spare bowler
I would more happy if Head opens over Steve Smith cause getting openeers with new ball is lot easier for Bumrah, Siraj and Shami. Steve Smith has lost the mojo but Can't imagine Set Travis Beast Head batting in afternnon Aussie summer against soft kookaburra. Currently that's easiest phase to bat in the world and I don't want him to score 100 runs within a session and turn the entire match on its 'HEAD'. Or get some left hand pacer to get him out somehow.
Batting - India has the edge, especially if Australia is foolish enough to let Smith open. I’ve never seen a more mollycoddled international cricketer than Cameron Green. Fast bowling - Evenly matched, maybe Australia has a slight advantage given its home conditions, but not overwhelmingly. Spin - Ashwin and Jadeja pip Lyon. India. Therefore, I think it should be 3-1 to India this series.
Weve forgotten how long back it has been since Kohli has played exceptionally well... Doesn't seem to be the gamechanger he once was... And it is the experienced senior batsmen we need playing the Aussies at home...
Current crop of indian batters play well when the ball comes well on to the bat. This is a big difference compared to previous generation. This is why we have been successful in aus. Along with our top notch bowling
Are the doors completely closed on Pujara's test career?? We might need him in Australia.. He's the one who tired the Aussie bowlers and held one end.. Currently i don't think we have any batsmen in our side who can bat so long and so patient in defending
I feel Australia this time. reason: i don't have trust in Indian batting. we don't have fighters when going get's tough anymore like Pujara and Rahane.. only Pant is the one who really digs deep in such situations. A lot depends on how Y Jaiswal performs. Gill will be a walking wicket as usual. oh and yes, 2 Pillars -Rohit and Kohli.. if they can make their last Aus tour memorable, then India can come out of top. So all in all, Indian batting is the key here.
Last time aus lacked captaincy in my opinion and the time before that they were just not there skill wise at all. I mean when your frontline opener against guys like bumrah/bhuvneshwar is Arron Finch, well All the best then.🙂 But this time around I see it different. My prediction Aus wins 3-1 or 3-2 !
Cmmon in short none of you mentioned it all depends upon how Austrailan batsmen fare... The last series fast bowlers of both teams were at par but Aus batsmen were inconsistent. If 3-4 bastmen can have good tests specially Aus openers then Aus can win
I think 4-1 India..... 1) For it our Bowlers specially fast-bowlers(Boom,Shami&Siraj) should be fit throughout tour and should repeat Best Bowling spells in their career once again.. 2) In Last tour Gill and Rishab perfomed quite well....Kohli loves challenges..loves performing in Australia... There are also expectations from Jaiswal and Rahul... Also Rohit have to lead from the front both with bat and captaincy 3)Yes Our Batting is Struggling But Australia is also not a terrifying batting side as past... Lots depend upon Bowling....who bowl's well... And i have hope that Boom, shami and Siraj will bring Victory (4-1) for us....
Australian in their backyard always going to be favorites there is no 2 way about it . Real Battle would be : Aus middle order vs Ind middle order batsman
It seems none of these experts followed the India vs Bangladesh series. Mark my word, Akashdeep will be added to the squad, and he will make a huge impact for India.
It’s 50-50, both sides have issues with their batting. Bowling for both is awesome provided the key bowlers remain fit for a 5 test match demanding series. Nobody is favourite, also the winner will take it 2-1 be it Australia or India.
The issue India will face this time around though is absence of a stubborn wall like a Pujara who can eat 30 overs and tire bowlers out..Bowling looks sorted but the challenge is bounce..Jaiswal as much as promising and praised struggles with steep bounce...most Indian batters do...and from 2022 onwards, Kohli's test returns have been mediocre at best...as if he has lost his mojo in red ball cricket...so adjusting to Aussie bounce will be the key to success, batsmen like Rohit in tests, Jaiswal, Sarfaraz, Ashwin, Kohli also struggle with rising ball...only batters who like this spongy bounce and seem to be comfortable have been Gill, Rahul, Jadeja (we so so underestimate Jadeja's batsmanship in tests in bouncy fast paced tracks like Australia, New Zealand)..and somewhat X factor but often maverick batting by Pant...Rahul has a big role to play, but his struggles are weird - it isnt he struggles with technique or skills, its the undue pressure he takes and demons inside his head that make him overthink...he needs to let go, he will score...he is someone who can absorb pressure along with a Jaiswal or a Jadeja...
Aus should be the obvious favorites in their backyard but 3 series lost SA and 2 to Ind is a big suprise and imagine Eng beating Aus in Aus 😱😱😱 This time i will accept a 1-2 or 2-3 or even a 1-4 BGT loss but a WTC win against Aus as a success
Well both teams are very stable. Players know their spots and these are the only 2 stable teams in the world right now .... Top team 5 tests as an indian i want india to win but i also want to see high qulity cricket cause you get this only in 4 years ..... Test cricket is just amazing aus grounds and aus pitches
I kinda feel that bazball'esque approach might be the way India would buy in this time around . Right now, we dont have batters like pujara who can grind the Ozzie bowlers out. Once India gets over with the new ball phase unscathed- they can actually score quickly.
Id actually have Marsh open with Uzzie, lets marnus, smith, head, green then carey all be in the almost optimal position. I think that's probably the best way to fit everyone in at their best bar marsh, but just give him the permission to go out and play. If we add Hardie in over Starc when needed all of a sudden we're 8 batters deep with the captian coming in at 9.
I personally think that fast bowling all-rounders are gonna be the deciding factors in the series. Mitchell marsh and Cameroon green for Australia and hardik pandya (if he plays) for india are the players to watch out for.
I dont know if hardik wants to play test anymore or not .... But if hardik can play you get a guy bowling at 140 and batting in top 6 that changes the whole game ..... If hardik is not playing i would say aus a bit more favourite cause ofcourse home conditions .... But even those home conditions are so well balances that they even favour india ....mcg sydney adelaid good pitches balaced bounce spin comes into play as well ... whereas brisbane and optus are tennis ball bounce pitches ... it would be amazing to watch
Indias BGT chances depends on how their premium fast bowlers dealing Travis Head.Batting depends on how Jaiswal dealing with Aussie pacers. We all know what happened to Prithvi Shaw in similar hype..
well jaiswal more technical player then shaw and his hunger is the massive difference..... yes it can be make or break series for him nd let's hope he does great
One thing I don’t like about Indian media representatives they said different styles of captain ship and Deep dasgupta ranting about Rohit personality ..
The amont of nonsense both Jarrod and Deep Das spewed in this half hour video is enough to explain why Talksport are the worst at talking sports, I thought their Football coverage was pathetic but this right here takes the cake. Jarrod: India were lucky last time, lucky how? They lost half their team, and were replaced by players barely making a start to their international careers. If India wins they were lucky, so two back to back tour series wins is down to them being lucky and has nothing to do with them showing fight or playing the better Cricket, and this guy is supposed to be a top Cricket journalist. Then Das Gupta says India's top six don't bowl, yes because their job is to bat in case you didn't notice, this is an example of just because somebody has played professional Cricket it doesn't necessarily make them an expert Cricket analyzer. As for Shami's absence wait and watch Akashdeep, this will be about India's bowlers and Australia's ability to handle them, I don't think Australia have the batting to tackle India's bowling, if India stick to their job professionally then they will win the series.
Do not belittle the 2018 win . It was a full strength Australian bowling attack and younger. Indian batting overseas had historically been the problem. This Aussie attack was tamed and defanged by Indian batsmen in 2018-19.They probably would have won Sydney test by innings if the train had not intervened. This Australian test team is very vulnerable right now. Except other than Travis Head this Aussiie batting is waiting to be had.
I don't understand why everyone is considering Australia as the favorites when they haven't won a test series since 2015. I understand both teams are equally poised and Australia can defeat India if they play their best cricket but its not like Australian has an advantage. Australian batting is the main issue and Indian bowlers can match their bowling so India has an edge.
Batting is a issue, the absence of pujara is the biggest loss. Shami being fit in time woupd be great though. But they somehow need tof it ashwin in the 11.
If retaining BGT for the 3rd time was because of luck than I would gladly like to have the same luck😂 Australia played hard as they are known for but also were overconfident in the series hence sloppiness and the result is wide open✌🏻
I think this time Indian bowling will struggle against some of the aggressive Aussie middle order batsman. Siraj is a concern as he just gets carried away and leaks too many runs. Also Shami will be rusty and slow starter. 4-0 Australia is the best result I am thinking as this Aussie side looks well balanced and hungry under Pat Cummins.
India won twice bcoz they took care of lyon & starc, both of them averaged in mid30s. On the other hand Indian spinners outplayed aussie batters completely. In rest of the departments there wasn't much difference in both the teams.
Teams go to Australia preparing for Starc, Hazlewood & Cummins but it's Lyon who does the damage. If you neutralize him, the captain has no where to go & has to bring the pacers back which will get them tired & ineffective. Also I feel that if we were to win, our batters need to score 300+ scores at least. But having said that our batters would find Australia a little bit better to bat on than England, SA or NZ because pace & bounce is not a worry for them.
Jarrod Kimber made the most relevant point - Pujara ran the Aussie bowlers in the ground over the last 2 tours which made the real difference. Pujara essentially played 2000 balls all by himself in the last 2 tours. That’s 350 overs for a single man across 8 tests.

This type of hate gives India a good motivation to win once again
These Aussie guys are always in the denial mode.they think of some absurd reason for their loss. Are India lucky in every series for 12years?Nonsense!
Nobody says india lost wtc because they were unlucky
Australia were clearly way better in those conditions
But for wc final indeed a lot of things went unusually wrong for india and a lot of things went unusually rigit for Australia
8/10 times india would have taken that game but this happaned to be the 2/10 chance
India clinch 3-2 series
3 -1 india
5-0 Aus
@@sutharstrong stop drinking ...
Deep subbed with Bogle would make the show much much better. Even DK would add more value
Steve Smith opening against Bumra/sami/siraj with New RED Ball is asking for a disaster to happen
It would be 3-1 to Australia. We have a slightly inexperienced middle order that might prove costly. Kohli and Pant need to have absolute peak of a series for India to have any chance.
Aus ke pass experience h 😅 bro.... Ind have pant, rahul, jadeja and hopefully hardik
Ha Tera pakistan ne to 3-0 haraya mulle, humare cricket ko nazar mat laga.🤫
If Kohli's ego doesn't leave his bat out and nick
I think Scott Boland will play the Border Gavaskar Series
He is India Specialist...
Indian batters face difficulty playing against him.
Apna jhandu pakistan team samjha hai kya, Naya naam whitewash team.😂
I hope there is practice match arrangements for indian team before playing bgt series in australia.
Ah yes, India was so lucky in 2021 with all these lucky breaks:
Kohli unavailable after the first test
Shami getting injured from a cowardly bouncer barrage
Rohit Sharma injured the first 2 tests
KL Rahul injured the last 2 tests
This series is going to be really tough for both the teams
I’d get Matt Short to open with Khawaja. Marnus, Smith, Head, Marsh, Carey, Cummins, Starc, Lyon, Hazlewood.
Other options: Aaron Hardie, Cam Green, Glenn Maxwell, Peter Handscomb, Lance Morris, Jhye Richardson.
"I Mean" Deep Dasgupta
Australia will play a lot of seam bowling all rounders so they will have depth in their batting.Travis Head could also be a big thorn for India again. India needs to try some seam bowlers who can bat like Harshit Rana could be handy
Jaiswal
Rohit
Gill
Virat
Pant
Ashwin
Jadeja
Thakur
Bhumrah
Siraj
Arshdeep
Best XI for Aus tour..
If shami fit he replace Arshdeep
Hardhik would be a better choice.👍
Hardik is going to replace thakur as per sources , akash deep is already in team because he can bat as well {20~30 impact run at 10th} jadeja for the initial 3 test as spare bowler
Thakur is old and bowls like a spinner these days
Spin me toh lyon age hai uska record australia me unbelievable hai aur jadeja Ashwin ek saath nahinkhelege saare matches
Every good thing comes to an end,so time for March forward.👍
Siraj most underated bowler in last tour he gave the crucial breakthroughs when partnership were building ...With semi new ball and oldish ball
An interesting fact.. of Virat's 6 centuries in Australia, 5 have come in losses, 1 in a barely eked out draw.
Unfortunately
If travis head start opening against india It will good from an indian point of view as our pacers can get out travis head as early as possible
He won’t be opening for sure
I feel Australia this time. reason: i don't have trust in Indian batting. we don't have fighters when going get's tough anymore like Pujara and Rahane.. only Pant is the one who really digs deep in such situations. A lot depends on how Y Jaiswal performs. Gill will be a walking wicket as usual. oh and yes, 2 Pillars -Rohit and Kohli.. if they can make their last Aus tour memorable, then India can come out of top.
So all in all, Indian batting is the key here.
It's such an irony that you don't have proper replacement of your Rahane and Pujara despite having 1.4 BN cricket mad population
@@SunilPokhrel-wo9ew we don't have for now. After 2 years, we will have. Transition takes time.
If Kohli's ego doesn't leave his bat out and nick
@@jetpark3743have u seen his stats in australia
Gill is a walking wicket 😂😂😂. What a joke! 😂😂😂😂
Last time aus lacked captaincy in my opinion and the time before that they were just not there skill wise at all. I mean when your frontline opener against guys like bumrah/bhuvneshwar is Arron Finch, well All the best then.🙂
But this time around I see it different. My prediction Aus wins 3-1 or 3-2 !
Akash deep will be the surprise package of this BGT.He showed signs of great fast bowling in spinning tracks in India
India will win 5-0
India’s seam bowling will win it. This will be Siraj’s series.
Cmmon in short none of you mentioned it all depends upon how Austrailan batsmen fare... The last series fast bowlers of both teams were at par but Aus batsmen were inconsistent. If 3-4 bastmen can have good tests specially Aus openers then Aus can win
Whoever plays better will win because both teams are evenly matched.
Also Rohit have to lead from the front both with bat and captaincy
3)Yes Our Batting is Struggling But Australia is also not a terrifying batting side as past...
Lots depend upon Bowling....who bowl's well...
And
i have hope that Boom, shami and Siraj will bring Victory (4-1) for us....
3-1 Australia
Our batting is dead and struggling
Ye Chokli ko team Sai Hatao,Agar Chokli BGT Mai hagdega aur Aus hame balatkaar kardega 4/1 sai
Time will tell everything... Just wait and watch
Australian in their backyard always going to be favorites there is no 2 way about it .
Real Battle would be :
Aus middle order vs Ind middle order batsman
It seems none of these experts followed the India vs Bangladesh series. Mark my word, Akashdeep will be added to the squad, and he will make a huge impact for India.
I don't think bowlers are to compared in BGT it's all about batsmen who scores consistently will win😊😊
Aus should be the obvious favorites in their backyard but 3 series lost SA and 2 to Ind is a big suprise and imagine Eng beating Aus in Aus 😱😱😱
This time i will accept a 1-2 or 2-3 or even a 1-4 BGT loss but a WTC win against Aus as a success
England have been washed since 2012
Well both teams are very stable. Players know their spots and these are the only 2 stable teams in the world right now ....
Top team 5 tests as an indian i want india to win but i also want to see high qulity cricket cause you get this only in 4 years .....
Test cricket is just amazing aus grounds and aus pitches
What JAISWAL is really worth will be shown in this tour.
I kinda feel that bazball'esque approach might be the way India would buy in this time around .
Right now, we dont have batters like pujara who can grind the Ozzie bowlers out.
Once India gets over with the new ball phase unscathed- they can actually score quickly.
Australia start as favourites!! But hopefully our top order delivers and our Bowling attack remains fit throughout then we do have chance to win!!
Id actually have Marsh open with Uzzie, lets marnus, smith, head, green then carey all be in the almost optimal position. I think that's probably the best way to fit everyone in at their best bar marsh, but just give him the permission to go out and play. If we add Hardie in over Starc when needed all of a sudden we're 8 batters deep with the captian coming in at 9.
to be fair starc is not bad 8th batter 😅
Pant,Gill, Virat Game changing movement series win. Depends on indian bowlers Bumrah, Siraj, Shami.
India needs to bring talent based on merit.
Ideal India Test Squad:
Yashasvi Jaiswal
Rohit Sharma (C)
Musheer Khan
Sarfaraz Khan
Rishabh Pant (W)
Nitish Kumar Reddy
Ravindra Jadeja
Harshit Rana
Ravichandra Ashwin
Akashdeep Singh
Jasprit Bumrah
-----------------------------
Pradosh Ranjan Paul (W)
Axar Patel / Kuldeep Yadav
Shubhman Gill
Mohammed Siraj / Ishant Sharma
I personally think that fast bowling all-rounders are gonna be the deciding factors in the series. Mitchell marsh and Cameroon green for Australia and hardik pandya (if he plays) for india are the players to watch out for.
Marsh is hardly an all rounder, the keg barely bowls
@@jay4cee but atleast he gives an option for the captain as to bowl if needed
Batting: India (slight edge)
Bowling: Even
Conditions: Australia
Result?
Pujra was main hero winning india in aus in 2018,2021 and in india 2017. Rohit and virat alone cant do it .
Guys, why don't u do this on spotify too.
Great Performance is never luck . It takes a lot of focus and hard work.
India has a bit of an upper hand statistically speaking, but certain intangibles are there, but logically speaking india probably wins
Best playing 11 for BGT :
Rohit Sharma (C)
Yashasvi Jaiswal
Shubman Gill
Virat Kohli
Rishabh Pant (WK)
Hardik Pandya
Ravindra Jadeja
Ravichandran Ashwin
Mohammed Shami
Jasprit Bumrah
Mohammed Siraj / Yash Dayal
Pandya unavailable for tests bhai. They shouldnt pick him for t20's and ODI's as well.
Very nice to see an Indian person on the panel speaking candidly and objectively. And not being a BCCI-shill!
It is the batting which will tank India’s chances to make it a hattrick of wins in Australia.
Have a feeling that this panel might be looking at a very surprising result in Jan 2025.
I don't understand why everyone is considering Australia as the favorites when they haven't won a test series since 2015. I understand both teams are equally poised and Australia can defeat India if they play their best cricket but its not like Australian has an advantage. Australian batting is the main issue and Indian bowlers can match their bowling so India has an edge.
watching this video after seeing the news that Cam Green will not be playing might be a huge differential for India
Sarfaraz should play pujara sort of innings, he can, or even Kl rahul can
Allrounder ( Biggest game changer)jis team ki better performance karega wo team win karga, Either , ye aus or india
Batting is a issue, the absence of pujara is the biggest loss.
Shami being fit in time woupd be great though.
But they somehow need tof it ashwin in the 11.
For india to fight Washington sundar should play 7th spot he should come after pant.
I willbe suprised if hardik not get picked in aus tour,Atleast for 2 test matches he should be included in playing 11
India will win. They mindset has changed, their setup has improved overtime.
Who are those top order batters who have started to bowl in the test team?
If india managed to get have shami fit and hardik somehow ,it will be a great series
It will end as 2-2. Mark my words.....
India must use Bumrah, Shami,Mayank , Ashwin and jadeja.
Batters - Rohit, Jaiswal, Gill, Virat, Rishab and Rahul.
BGT decides the India and Australia - WTC final chances - BGT- Battle of Gangsters
We are going to miss Pujara. I think we will lose without him. No one as technically as sound as him in the Indian batting side - my guess.
Is he nuts ? India got out on 36 and ozs were unlucky?
If retaining BGT for the 3rd time was because of luck than I would gladly like to have the same luck😂 Australia played hard as they are known for but also were overconfident in the series hence sloppiness and the result is wide open✌🏻
I think this time Indian bowling will struggle against some of the aggressive Aussie middle order batsman.
Siraj is a concern as he just gets carried away and leaks too many runs. Also Shami will be rusty and slow starter.
4-0 Australia is the best result I am thinking as this Aussie side looks well balanced and hungry under Pat Cummins.
Siraj bowled brilliantly in the bangladesh match recently, he has improved his line and length. He has definitely improved
