    It looks like your performing an exorcism on the tv with made up "Ghost Hunter" equipment.

    Just got a BVM-A20F1M and I was wondering how to fix the picture. After isolating the issue down to degaussing, your video was very helpful. It's a shame you can't find good documentations for this so readily these days. Thanks for the demonstration!

    I always wondered what to do in such a situation as that. I always assumed magnets were things the makers of those TV's had never thought about or something. Cool

    Got a PVM 2053MD myself. I'm pretty sure at this point that you're a long lost brother or something, we have the exact same tastes and interests.

    Hi there, I am thinking of purchasing one of these units from the USA and I am also located in the UK, what is the wattage of step-down converter are you using???

      +James Drummond Hi. I just checked and it's 150 watts

    Your vids are inspiring (me to do some DIYS fixes to me apt). Love the bakelite stuff. You'd make a killing customizing retro consoles for people here in the States (though watching your vids, I'm guessing that's not your MO).

      +James Miner Thanks for watching, man :-) Yeah I just mod stuff when inspiration hits. That N64 was 2 years ago now though.

    The dance of the degaussing :)
    Helpful vid bro!
    Do you know anything about built in degaussing in CRT monitors? I could swear I had an old monitor that had it built in back in 2000-2004

    • @CPS2
      @CPS2  8 років тому +1

      +Ninjaximus Yeah man some monitors had coils built in. Not little ones like this though.

    • @Shadowstray
      @Shadowstray 8 років тому +1

      +CPS2 I might like technology and know some niche things, but CRT was probably before my time. Got my first LCD panel when I was about 16 and never looked back.
      Learned some benefits of CRT, like better colour reproduction many years later, as part of photography theory. But I think at this point LCD actually caught up as well.

  • @MickeyDJ1
    @MickeyDJ1 8 років тому

    Thought all CRT sets had their own thyristor controlled degaussing circuit built in. It's that thump you hear everytime you switch on. If it does have one you can see the degaussing coil wrapped around the CRT toward the front.

    • @CPS2
      @CPS2  8 років тому

      +MickeyDJ1 Nope. Not this one.

      And some Trinitron CRTs, particularly FD Trinitron and HR Trinitron, actually have permanent magnets placed in certain spots to help with convergence.

    I was unable to find a way to contact you properly. Your modified Nintendo 64 video has it's comments disabled, presumably because it looks fantastic and you get a lot of questions about it that are repetitive. I would like to ask you, if you can find it in your heart to reply, exactly what cream and gloss gold paint did you use on this work of art?

    • @CPS2
      @CPS2  6 років тому +1

      Exactly. I answered questions about it for 2 years then thought enough is enough. lol
      The paint I used is called Plasti Kote Crackle Touch.

    • @bttfspencer
      @bttfspencer 6 років тому

      Perhaps adding a frequently asked questions section in the video description. I was more interested in the gloss gold to be honest, could you please tell me the type? :)

    • @CPS2
      @CPS2  6 років тому +1

      There already is one. It's been there from day 1. People just don't read it (and neither did you. lol)
      Crackle Touch is a 2 part paint. The gold and the top is part of the same product.

    • @bttfspencer
      @bttfspencer 6 років тому

      I didn't read it, thanks for answering my questions.
