Just as raw as it gets, as a human to the earth. Self expression. Its art. We might be so far into the future to forget that there might be more futures out there.
Fuk load of work and money and politics and red tape involved in building a house. The fish will die without a source of oxygen, the pool will be a haven for misquotes, it will also fill with rainwater and ruin the foundation of the house as it softens everything since there is no overflow escape... yeah, lovely

Original paint was made from plants :) some people paint with plant materials on here. They're just not as stable. That said, for this paint to stick in the area it's at, it should be synthetic. The color and vibrancy aren't the tells.
It rains in SE Asia a lot in the rainy season. Life goes on. Wear clothes that dry easy, since it’s humid, too. Also that she didn’t even show the process of making the 2nd story or making the doors and windows?.. I don’t think that she only used her hands and a few tools.

That's such a beautiful and charming comment. We did something similar as my friend Debby D. and I would play around the old Crabapple tree* that grew between her parents' and her grandparents' house when we were little kids. (*There were also many other trees around the front and back of each house, as well as Climbing flowers, some I think were roses. I loved that place as a child, and only just now began thinking of just how much that place influenced the types of architecture and plants and landscaping that I love so much. This will require further thought!) That old twisted tree have the place this feeling of being very old. The houses weren't, but the way the tree twisted every which-way seemed to me like it must've been quite old, being all rough and craggy and dark. I remember how the bark was so dark after the rain, and it always thrilled me in some way. (I wasn't even ten years old, yet.) You put that feeling so well, thank you. (I just looked it up on Google Earth; the houses are there, but most of the trees are gone. That was a long time ago, so I kind of figured.) (It still sucks, though. 😔)
I grew up poor, and our houses were made out of wood and zinc. When we were hit by hurricanes, the elders taught us how to built houses. It has been one of the most amazing and beautiful experiences I have ever had. Anytime I see another female or a younger generation be this self sufficient, it brings me so much joy! *GREAT JOB girlie!💪🏻*
I grew up poor too (actually still relatively poor) but dont know how to build proper housing to protect against hurricanes and natural disasters. Hopefully one day I can build a house like her and live off grid in a forest filled will lots of water and animals
I love this so much. Such a beautiful and wonderful reminder that nature gives us everything we need. The knowledge this woman has is incredible and knowledge worth having.
Um... she's not doing this by herself. There's a crew that helps her build everything and the little snippets they show are part of the editing. If you want to watch someone do it for real, go watch Primitive Technology with the Australian bloke. He's what started this "primitive" craze and everyone's copied his style. The major difference is that everyone else uses crews and machinery off-camera. Primitive Technology shows every step of the process (building an axe, making the molds for bricks, making bricks out of clay, building a kiln...) and explains everything in captions. All of those steps are the real knowledge that videos like this masquerade as.

What she smashed up to make the cement was a termite mound. They ARE as hard as concrete, and when mixed with soil and a little water, can be used as a water-proof coating. The government wants us to believe self sufficiency is hard and impossible, so that we would keep our jobs and pay our taxes.
The government also restricts use of land and resources to make it hard to live like this. Think of all the fees, taxes and licences you need just to farm or fish.
It is sad really, just how much we have lost. I honestly wish we all learned and remembered the knowledge of our ancestors. To reconnect back with nature as beings of the land as we were meant to rather then live as robots that we do today.

She used an old termite mound. The termite spittle is very glue-like.
What she smashed up to make the cement was a termite mound. They ARE as hard as concrete, and when mixed with soil and a little water, can be used as a water-proof coating. The leaves she used to make paint were also mixed with the white milky substance from a vine, either from a rubber tree or something related to it, so ....she got latex paint! Isn't nature marvelous? @@Renee-luv no she doesn’t you moron
Its like shes done this a hundred other times. Astounding!
She probably has. My grandparents come from a countryside much like her area. And they still have bamboo houses that people live in. I've seen them build roofs made of palm leaves (I luckily got to try it too). And its really a lot of hard work and practice.
Yeah, and all those times are recorded and posted on this channel, which is hers.
You are an inspiration. Keep it up my friend!!!
I can't believe this only took 16 minutes to make
