The video and the construction is amazing, but I havea couple of observations: 1) the entire structure is supported by the four logs that end in a "V" that were nailed into the tree branches. That's a lot of weight supported by four nails! (although they were 6 inch nails) How long before they work themselves loose? 2) What were the half bark(?) pieces that were used for the walls? Bamboo? 3) Okay, the spaces between the bark(?) pieces forming the walls is one thing. And the weaving of the fronds to form the roof is ingenious. But the woven fronds still left a lot of holes. That would be pretty wet and miserable when it rains! I'm thinking you could eliminate the holes by stacking about four layers of the fronds. But even then, because no layer is water-tight, you would still have some water dripping on you - the water would traverse from one layer to the next, always finding the holes in the current layer to continue to the next, until some of it would find it through all of the layers. Although given how tough and resourceful this guy is, a few drops of water may not bother him. But even then, to reduce the leakage to a few drops would require several more layers of fronds than is shown in this video.
Awesome! Well done! I am always fascinated by these types of videos on other channels. So, can that protect you from wild animals for real, without no door?🤔 I don't think so. Maybe your title should've been A Hanging Tree House in the Wild 😁 But I still loved your skillful video.
I was thinking the same thing. He is not really that high off the ground below. No problem for a Jaguar or Leopard. Although he would probably be safe from insects found on the forest floor.
I suspect for this culture it is a common practice in the humid jungle. It makes sense, it would prevent excessive sweating of the feet, leading to "Trench Foot". Not so sure about the venomous creepy crawlies though. eeeek.
