Homeless person got arrested in Venice Beach you got to see it to believe it
Should've never have closed the mental hospitals across the country starting in the late 70s.
And THAT is a political issue. They wanted to spend our tax money on Mars instead of spending our money with public interests in mind.
Places such as Camarillo state mental hospital were closed down because in this case- it worked! The population was declining and making less and less money. It has been turned into a for-profit state college. CSUCI.
I live 20 minutes away.
President Carter Funded Mental hospitals and mental health treatment! Governor/President Ronald Reagan came in and Defunded mental health services and shut down mental hospitals! 👉 Churches and charities were supposed to be the answer! "Thoughts and prayers"! 👉 Womp-Womp....
Not exactly. Gov. Reagan signed the Lanterman-Petris-Short Act in 1967, all but ending the practice of institutionalizing patients against their will.

I remember back in the 90s when my daughter was a toddler, we were walking there and she reached up on a trash bin and rubbed her hand on the rim and I said, "don't touch that, it's nasty," and took her hand and we moved along, and this homeless guy started yelling at me going "That's not true, why are you lying to her! You're telling her lies! What's wrong with you! You're what's wrong with this world lying to her like that!" and followed us for a while yelling at me, while I was walking with her as fast as I could. I didn't have a cell phone back then, and I haven't been back to Venice since.
If I was there, I would have saved you. Believe me.

The homeless guy put up the show of "Look, how calm I am, I am the victim, not the guy I hit with a hammer." This is why he sits calmly by the side of the truck.
he also might have been in shock a bit, because he took a beating too. He's probably not used to anyone fighting back against his psychotic behavior.
Good thing they let the other guy go even if he gave homeless guy a beating. Thought laws were so bad that he would be arrested also. There's still some hope.
Your local politicians hate to have their troubles shown online but that's what it will take to get it fixed.
There's so much of it online. Everyone has videos of Skid Row, Kensington, and all the other major cities. And still, nothing is done.
It's a lucrative business for the state. They use the homeless to collect more money from their citizens and create these bogus "services." Check who's really benefiting and getting paid out. It isn't the homeless.
Every issue the government has claimed a war against. Only gets worse. Are the that incompetent? Or is it intentional?
War on poverty? War on drugs? Countless wars over seas, with military bases still active in those areas.

Unless you live in a non communist state and use your 2nd amendment right, which includes protection of other citizens with the proper use of force. In this case it would be one solution, but hey California will California.

My parents own three buildings and four houses on Venice Beach and I live in one part of the year and I see some crazy shit
Our daughter lived in Hollywood a couple of years ago and two homeless guys were sleeping on the lawn near her apartments and fighting with each other, both men had several knives.
Homeless guy decided he was ready for three hots and a cot instead of sleeping in a bathroom on a piss covered floor
and get poked up in jail

The resources and manpower for that demented guy is so wasteful. Costing thousands just in this one case alone. It’s a very serious problem and it prevents tourists from visiting safely and enjoying themselves.

@@hazmat1978 We actually do have an increase in homeless and poor people who have to resort to collect plastic bottles to exchange them for the money for example. But we don't have a hotspot like LA here where they all could move to because of climate and other factors.
I'm not 100 % up to date about the situation but I think here it is just more spread out over all the different cities. Some social security systems could prevent further homelessness I guess. But on the other side we have huge taxes and energy prices here which are insane..

Really doesn’t happen here in Prague. There are a few homeless, but they don’t bother anyone. Here mentally ill people get treatment or institutionalized…

It's gotten to where everyone has to arm themselves with bear mace or pepper spray. People who have tried to break-up fights have gotten killed, so it is better to have mace where you can spray the from a distance. Stay safe, thanks for GiVing !!

When I see a fight, I visualize love energy surrounding those having the fight and their anger dissolved with love and I ask Source of love to fill their hearts with love. Fight stops almost immediately and it works every time.

Stuff like this happens everywhere and always has. My mother told me of a person she knew who was killed with a hammer when she was a little girl and that was probably 80+ years ago. It is always good to know what goes on in the world so please don't be one of those people who think it is better to lie to people and conceal the truth.

I was in LA and VB a week ago for three days it was so bad i came home a night early. So many crazy homeless. The whole city was so nasty that it made San Francsico look clean. I live in SF.

The sick rationale that a public restroom could substitute as a home is apparent. In the zones between the haves and have not door codes for restrooms are approaching 100%.
A coffee franchise in a tourist trap in a city which is ground zero had a door code of 5150.

I saw a homeless couple living in an apartments laundry room for the residence who live there, this is ridiculous. They should provide better housing options for the homeless people.
