I hadn't even known or heard of the Moody Blues until I met my wife. Her brother was a huge fan, and I believe that he was more interested in the recording techniques in their records. I seem to remember there was one song in particular that had foot steps that went from one channel to the other, like the person walking was walking through your head. But then in 2001 or there abouts, I actually saw them in concert! As I recall it was Mike, Ray and Graham, God rest their souls, and of course Justin and John. It was an awesome concert, and to think that I had thought a concert of The New York Rock and Roll Ensemble, back in the late 1960's. But then I actually heard the Moody Blues. And I can say it now that their music is more difficult to play then when I was first learning it. It is like Justin wrote traps into his songs to make it impossible to even try to play his songs! And I know what he means when he talks about his guitars. I had a pre-CBS Fender Telecaster for many years, to which I had several guitarists begging me to sell it to them. Then one day I did, I forget what I charged him, then I found out he completely sanded the original blonde finish off and re-finished it! There goes all of its value. Historical and monetary! I do wish I still had it!

Love this interview with Justin Hayward about the Moodies and his wonderful songs and collaborations with the orchestra with Decca, his guitars also his solo tours an enjoyable listen 💙 I love Wildest Dreams it deserved its hit status and I agree with the mtv videos, these got me back into the Moodies music and going to see the live shows with my family they really rocked, the vibrations of their sound filled the auditorium you could feel it as well as hear it, they were such memorable shows, now I go to see Justin’s solo shows and enjoyed each one of them attended 3 so far and the 4th one was unfortunately cancelled but am heading for a rescheduled one in the autumn, long live your music Justin, love it always 💕🎶🎵🎶

I always love listening to Justin Hayward... my music idol as Robert Redford is my silver screen hero...sunlight hair and eyes of sapphire blue...I actually got Up Close and Personal with Justin live in Radio 2 Studios 8th April 1993... ooops missed that anniversary !!...sorry Justin!!😉❣️☺️...I remember you talking about Days of Future Passed incidentally was at the Moody Blues 20th anniversary Christmas party Kingston Upon Thames the first time I met him 1987...having joined their Fan Club in 1986 at Cobham my cousin ran a Costume Hire Shop across the road from there !!❣️

I still much prefer the first 7 albums. Hayward was at his peak in those years. Ignore what he says🤣
