QI is only the aftermath - the pretext is case law which affords them the opportunity to engage in violent behaviors with respect to "officer safety" . Terry v. Ohio is what brings "reasonable" into the LEO vocabulary, which gives them way too much creative license.

What is so scary is that they had the audacity to do this with cameras rolling and press all around. They are so full of themselves that they think they are above the law. I wonder what they would have done if no one was looking? Every one of those law enforcement officers owes Evan an apology and they also owe the public an apology. But, we all know that will never happen since I’m sure they are convinced that they did nothing wrong. I hope they all get what they deserve. They disgust me.

I'm in my 40s but I remember the days when politicians were chased in the street by news crews DEMANDING answers for the public on their latest scandal, which is what journalists should be doing. These days too many "journalists" just repeat whatever PR bs they get in an email or just repeat whatever narrative they have been paid to repeat.
This guy seems to have some that natural journalistic integrity still left in him, and I hope he continues to maintain that principle while so many other journalists have become nothing more than megaphones for the most wealthy or powerful.

He wasn’t afraid of Evan. The female state trooper kept him away from Evan as he tried several times to go around her to get to Evan again. Then you see another female NG run over and drag him away from the scene. Then that plain closed Tyrant Sheriff got in Evans face and escalated it to an unlawful arrest. Evan was surrounded by clowns.

I think it was very important for the American press to experience first hand how corrupt and one-sided the system is. Shackles are the least of your problems. What happened there happens hundreds of times a day in the USA, unfortunately without kamaera, unfortunately without witnesses to the detriment of those affected.

I would file a lawsuit against the law enforcement agency and the national guardsmen, you were falsely arrested, illegally detained, you were assaulted and battered by armed individuals, and you were kidnapped! This should be the lead off of every broadcast y’all do for at least a month make everyone aware of what the normal civilians have to endure every day

My grandma has been losing her memory and recently told the cops my dad stole her gold. They arrested him and interrogated him for hours and it was very traumatizing. Eventually he was released and she found her gold but still very traumatic. I feel for anyone put in that situation. As someone with aspergers this is my worst nightmare

Sadly this outcome was only achieved based on extensive video evidence and public exposure. Even with that it took too long and does not reverse the fact that Evan had to suffer the indignity of being arrested and sat in jail for five hours. How many thousands (maybe millions)of people who have equally been unjustly accused, arrested, convicted, etc. and never got relief / justice? How many people are in jail right now who should not be.

I’m so glad the charges were dropped against Evan. It was very unfortunate that he was treated that way. He needs to sue those cops and the National Guard General for their disgusting behaviors and actions.
I love Marni! You can see how genuine she is in this interview. Unlike Dan Abrams’ interview last night. He was all sided with the cops. Not once did he cover this story until the charges were dropped. Even then, his questions were ridiculous. @NewsNation Why did you delete the interview video that Dan did last night?????? I used to like Dan, and we all know he loves cops, but if they’re wrong, they need to be called out. PERIOD.
