    I'm at a comfortable salary and work from home FT, but im soooo board and started looking for other roles as i don't feel challenged. I'm already on the 40% tax fresh hold so your video has given me lots of other things to think of.

    Hi Ire, my fellow Nigerian. Firstly I have to say not only am I getting soooo much from your videos with my situation but I also feel so so proud of you as a young black person as I am too to see everything your doing. Honestly we’ll done and you probably don’t know how many lives your shaping and helping but yes anyways lool.
    I am a PE teacher/subject leader in a primary school and am currently considering moving to project management. I have just started the Google certification which I’m enjoying and is telling me teachers have so many of the skill sets to get into the career. I have been watching your videos alongside this. My reasons for wanting the career change is that I have achieved almost all I can achieve in teaching which is also a time consuming (taking work home) career with less of the financial benefits and I’m also a super positive person who love the people I work with but after 13 years I’m kinda tired of the understandable negative moans and groans of my fellow teachers so rather then joining in that I would rather take action is project management is that action for me as I do a lot of this as a teacher in terms of transferable skills. I’m sure you’ve touched on transferable skills in one or two of the videos of yours I have watched.
    I’m just at the point that I would love to have someone like you to talk to about getting my foot in the door confidently. I don’t know if this is a possibility as you are probs as busy as anyone but hopefully one day I can find a way to get in touch with you and learn as much as I can from you. This would probably be a game changer for me and my family. I do have others around me that work in the industry, even my brother as a construction project planner but I’m very drawn to your outlook and delivery so yh would be great to talk.
    Keep up your work honestly Ire. You are KILLING it girl. Thank you.

      Hey nice to meet you :) glad that my videos have been helpful 🤗🤗🤗 and thank you ! I’ll try to keep it up. As for one to ones. I only really do that through my consulting service which are also currently on hold atm🙈 but if it’s really important or you feel like you need immediate help, happy for you to dm me and I can see if we can find a slot that could work. Just a heads up, these sessions are chargeable . All the best with your transition into PM, it’s gonna be great !

    UA-cam knows my struggles 😅 problem is when the increase is 80% is very hard to think about all the rest. Especially the culture and people worries me because it’s the thing you really can’t control. I think all the rest is negotiable or adjustable but if the company hires wrong all around me, I’m not gonna survive the trial period😢

    • @pitolinmotion
      @pitolinmotion  Рік тому +1

      Haha! I totally feel you. Tbh for 80% pay rise. Even if the place you move too is crap, you can cry on all your extra money 😅 I think ppl and culture is so under rated. Defo needs to be considered and investigated . You can get a vibe from the place tbh I’d you visit. Mix with the team etc. before you accept the opportunity

    I left a former position not for money but lack of security in the role. The new role pays more and is a higher pay grade, but what I have come to find out the work puts me in a lower supporting role and not lead as my former role. I
    Feel this video very much.😔
    It’s with the same company so I can’t transfer for 1year. Lesson learned.

      Girl I feel you. But thats the beauty of experience! You know for next time . But also if you really don’t like it, there’s never a bad time to start looking for roles in other organisations

    You forgot to mention the probation period that comes with the new job. If they no longer need you after 6 months you’re f*cked. The best way to go about this is to take what’s called A career break. So that you can still come to your old job if things didn’t work out with the new company.

    • @pitolinmotion
      @pitolinmotion  Рік тому

      Also a great point! I wouldn’t let you hold you back if you know your competent buh defo something to consider

      @@pitolinmotion but what about although the company has great benefits, great pension but no career progressions with a Low salary. Do you still stay there or look elsewhere despite all these risks.

    • @pitolinmotion
      @pitolinmotion  Рік тому +1

      Base salary to me is one of the most important things so no. Personally I wouldn’t move somewhere for less than the salary I am currently on Under any circumstance. A bit different if you are doing a career change. You may need to sacrifice salary to get in the door

    Currently having a hard time at my current job, but it is fully remote (travel sometimes which is annoying lol) butting heads with manager etc I don’t like the work I understand the vision and where the company can go but I don’t like my role. There’s a role at another firm in project management (project coordinator) which I want to transition in, a lot of close work with the project manager, company has big ideas, bigger salary (£200 more monthly) the pm team seem cool but it’s hybrid lol, to me it sounds like I should definitely reply to them but I feel bad, opinion?

    • @stephena6766
      @stephena6766 Рік тому

      Forgot to add after 6 months (probation) it’ll be £300 + monthly after tax. Also a lot of on hand work I’ll be really working so closely to the PM and doing similar tasks with support and obv a learning curve at the beginning

    • @pitolinmotion
      @pitolinmotion  Рік тому +1

      Hey! Loool feel bad for what exactly ???? You owe no one anything. I suggest you go for it and make steps towards a happier life. If you die today, your current role will have a new job ad out for your role within the week.it doesn’t seem like there is anything nice about your current role and you have no real reason to stay… or you might have just not mentioned it

    • @stephena6766
      @stephena6766 Рік тому

      @@pitolinmotion looooool yeah you’re right, I just feel bad because there’s been a few hiccups recently in terms of delivery so leaving now won’t be the best time, so I just feel bad🤣. Hm the ppl used to be nice like really nice but ever since 2023 they’ve all turned very condescending and I see no career progression (program admin, but there’s no program coordinator or manager - I work in venture capital) so yeah.

    • @pitolinmotion
      @pitolinmotion  Рік тому

      Got yah. Anyways If it were me. I would look out for myself. Believe me. They can choose to fire you at anytime if they wanted. I’m sure there is a notice period. And that’s how they cover themselves . It’s up to you though

    How would I know what the culture and people are truly like? We only meet the hiring manager who may seem all nice and stuff but the people might not be the same.

    • @pitolinmotion
      @pitolinmotion  3 місяці тому +1

      True. But sometimes you can just pick up on things from the environment of the work place: you can always ask to meet the team before accepting the role also
