it's great video
thank you for your efforts
Just mechanics that are afraid it will help a prospective customer.
I like this guy. He's clear and concise, and his videos always make the job look simple.
Having rebuilt my car engine this year (a pd150 golf), I appreciate all the hard work you've put into this. I've followed a few of your videos & found them helpful. Respect where it's due! Now if only you could do one for centre console rattle & creaking noises ;-)
Oh my God that creaking drives me frigging mad. Do you have a non standard CD player installed? Mine started really badly after I installed my Alpine CD player!
I have not had one with rattle before, describe it to me a little more
Hi Boyd - its the 2 prongs that go into/under the cllimatronic region under the dash. I wrapped self almagamating tape around the prongs and put back the centre console. Job done and quiet as a mouse!
This video is from 8 years ago and man you are saving my ass, thank you kind man! ❤️
Same here!
Absolute legend removing one of these on the driveway! I thought it was impossible.
Balls deep in it right now on my 00 alh golf . Fun stuff
Great use of the laser to illustrate what you're talking about. Made the video really easy to understand. I always thought taking the turbo out was a long and hard job, but your steps have made it relatively easy and understandable. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for the compliment, and thanks for watching the videos
A very informative and well filmed video, especially with the limited space in the engine bay and the hard to access bolts.
Thank you so much for this video, I successfully replaced my turbo thanks to you. Best wishes to you.
I took my 2001 caddy to a VW specialist and have been quoted more money than i have to rebuild and replace the down pipe. he also said the bolts always brake when he takes them off. How easy did they come off. i know you said be careful but the last thing i need is a mishap. Cheers for posting the vid. keep up the good work bro
The laser really helps
Legend, thanks for this great breakdown! Gonna help my mate with his Polo 1.4 TDI, it's got a turbo oil leak we need to diagnose...
Good luck
Hey man helped me allot! I have a 2002 TDI with about 157 K and was amazed how much stuff was in my intake. Cleaned it up and away we go mate. David in Florida
The best videos online for workin on golfs. Great work keep it up
Man, you've saved my ass so many times I can't even count them
Great video....saved me thousands on getting my whining cassette done ,,,im an old mechanic trusting in the youth ..well done lad
seems simple enough, im doing mine as we speak. trying to do it this same way. i have noticed you have the EGR/Throttle section taken out already.. thats a important part here for the space needed to pull the turbo out from the top .... but awesome video and very helpful!
I'd love to get under the hood of my car and replace the turbo; it's going bad. These vids really help. Thanks man.
jack under the tyre.. thats a new one to me.
Ccunny Funtish that's not safe at all!
it's for not make them spin
It's not supporting any weight, be a better than nothing type thing to give you extra few seconds to get the fuck outta there if the car comes off the jack stands
I cannot express enough how much this is going to help me, thank you very much
Awesome and VERY helpful video. Thank you so much for sharing. Most VW dealers do NOT want you to do this, as their labor charges are over $4500.00 here in Houston area. The charge is $2600. for the turbo assembly, which I found on Ebay for under $600.00!
Wow i thought here it was bad they asking for 1500
After some reservations about your comedy "safety" precautions the video itself was massively informative and really succinct. Props mate, job well done.
I've been putting this job off for a few years now. The price of UK diesel I probably won't bother now but great video all the same!
thank you for this great video i got my car checked up and it seems my turbo is broken now I can repair it myself thanks to you, cheers
Thanks for this, I need to reconnect / replace the lower hose from the bottom of the turbo and this has helped me get prepared.
You can't help but like this guy. And the video is very well done. Thank you
Great video and information, please show the the repair that was done
This was helpful I am going to have to replace the turbo oil feed line on my girlfriends jetta. And from this I was able to see where everything should approximately be.!!! Thank you for the video!!
youre welcome
Excellent video mate , the laser helps a lot keep up the great work.
Great video!
I´ve a Golf MK5 1.9 tdi (BXE engine), Do you think this tutorial its applicable for this model?
An excellent tutorial which I’m going to use when I remove the turbo from my PD 150 inspect it - many thanks 👌
Your videos have saved me thousands of dollars. Thanks mate!
GREAT VIDEO!!!! Thank you. Made $750 because of this video.
Nice informative Video. Happy to tackle the job for my Turbo upgrade for sure
thank you for your video helps alot
Your vids have helped me so much over the last 3 years mate, thank you. Subscribed! :)
The first part with the shaky camera work had me leaving. As it progressed, it got better, with good visuals. Thanks.
the thing you first shined the laser at claiming to be the "turbo" that is actually the turbo manifold. and the air inlet pipe connected to the turbo inlet is not the compression pipe, since the compression happens AFTER the turbo, not before. so technically its a vacuum pipe.
ok ,Thank you for watching
+BMAC VAGS no offence tho just saying my man. good vid tho.
Great instructions as always.
Simple easy to follow!
Cool video man, turbo at the back is a pain, looks similar to my audi tt project, which needs a need turbo also. Thanks for the vid and the tips ✌️️
Fantastic video, great camera work in tight spots. Well done
Maaaan you killed with that laser!!!! I love you
Really good clear video. I have a 2007 Skoda TDI and although not the same I think this will be useful. Cheers!
I see that you have the easy access version. Not that easy with the DSG gearbox... :) Then it seem to be better unbolt everything, lift the car up... Incredible tight space, no room for fixing or even getting a good view of the turbo and wastegate.
7 minute video. Guess I’ll give it a shot
Solid video! I have an '03 Golf TDI and I was told I would need to disconnect the axel to get turbo out from underneath. I am wondering what year and model this VW TDI is you have in the video and maybe I can follow your directions to get my turbo out just the same. Thanks!
Thanks for the vid, just used your guide to remove mine...Cheers
Thanks bro, went to replace my oil return line bolt closest to the motor wouldn’t budge tried everything gunna have to take it out to get the return off
You may need to heat it up
Great video as always, I plan to do this soon so I can fit a VNT17 or VNT20.
would you know why the actuation rod wer the spring is have oil in there as when it moves up an down it pumping oil out at the base of the rod . ta an great vid too .
I was wondering if you could make a how to remove an actual handle on the mk4
Great video :-) I'm pretty sure I will be rewatching this a few times when having a crack at the same job soon. Keep up the great work bud :-)
Brilliant vid bro
Brilliant. Nice and simple and shows everything.
Thanks for the videos, I have a audi a3 sportline to do 2008 and understand the rebuild process it getting the turbo/manifold out as it looks like a lot less room than your car. Any experience with these? Thanks
hi there. great great video. I would just like to know how much oil comes out when you remove the oil inlet pipe from the turbo? thank you again
Useful videos man! Would you be able to do a video about finding boost leaks or checking actuator holds pressure or just write a book explaining the whole vacuum system on your engine and where to find everything? I think your engine is pretty similar to mine to that would be great! :D I'm pretty sure my car has a boost leak as there is little pull/torque in high gears. Respect.
Hi mate love your videos!!
Could you possibly show us how to remove individual components that get affected with carbon in order to clean them out and then re fit them (possibly on a 2.0 vw tdi)
Thanks
As others have posted that was a really informative video well done on the production as well, it’s hard to do. Great idea to use laser to show bits👍
Much appreciated!
Gracias amigo, me servira mucho para mi jetta tdi 2001, quitare el turbo para limpiarlo, saludos
Sajeev Kumar same hapened to me with an opel corsa 1.7dti it was the gas cable stayed on and oil cooler was broke down when happened again you should turn off your car with first gear
Hey mate. Could you please tell also wich size of socket you've used to take nuts of the turbo off? Is that 13 mm socket as well?
Great to see a black man well half black doing something technical
Full black brother, thanks for watching.
Very good video man keep up the good work with making these videos for everyone!!!
I have the vw cc, would this be the same removal process? Great video by the way.
You kinda look like Mario Balotelli. Love your videos by the way. They're very helpful.
Thank you for watching
Got oil leak on the back. Idk where but its splashing oil everywhere. My oil level drops very very slowly. Like small drop every 4 days. Going to start with the intake see if I can get better view of what is causing my leak
My golf tdi turbo sorted
Thx for video
Hey thanks for the video. Can I remove exhaust manifold from the bottom of the car without removing anything?
best vidi seen on how to do this job thank you
tenes un video de como sacar admision de mk5 1.9tdi. gracias
You have a video of how to get admission of mk5 1.9tdi. Thanks
hi i have a mk4 golf gti 1.8t iv been told that they have a ko3 turbo and that you can put the bigger ko3s turbo from the earlier golfs and that its a straight bolt on job. is this true and would it make much difference. loving the vids
Yes I have heard that before but I have never tried it. I suggest that you do a little more research before starting the conversion. Thanks for supporting the vids.
The k04 turbo off a golf will bolt right on without any new parts needed...did it to my jetta...the k04-001 is the one you will need
i bought the ko4 but the one i got came from a seat cupra r since then i have got all the feed pipes and gaskets plus the exhast manifold i just need the samco turbo hose and down pipe to start fitting but thats the expensive bit. 350 pounds worth. if i go for the down pipe with decat will it still pass mot
i have also just got a g60 7kg flywheel and vr6 clutch kit how hard are they to fit
Hi mate,
Your vid are great help.
I was wandering if you could help me locate a speed sensor on a mk4 golf 1.4 16v.
I have a 2009 passat 2.0T, Is there a turbo damper and how can I remove it to actually hear the turbo
Great video mate will be attempting this
Very interesting! Job well done. Any tips on how to take care of the Turbo?
I am going to be making a video on how to look after your turbo
so my turbo charger started smoking so i blocked the oil inlet so the it stops smoking. Planning on getting a new one soon. But my car still drives fine , how long do i have till i dunno something goes wrong??? its 2.0T Jetta
theoldguy gildarts how long did it last?
You know, seals are replaceable, but cutting the oil off from your turbo will damage it in no time at all. Worst case scenario I think is that the rotor will become stuck in place
I love your videos. With your help I've done a few things on my car. I need help and advice.
Is it necessary to change the two washers and oil hose? Are you changed on this car?
well done guy, i have one jeep compass with 2.0 tdi 140, and i think, unfortunetly it will help me what is your engine ?
Great honest video
I've been looking for videos which explain in detail! Just about to dive into the rest of your vids.
#Subscribed!
mine is 1.9 diseal 2007 reg vw tdi is it the same ?
thanks for ur great video
very good job and explanation, thanks.
hi,post a video of how to install a vw golf 4 electric sunroof wiring included
BMAC VAGS, hello, i have a 2006 jetta with the same engine, and its losing oil and i think its from the turbo but i dont know from which part, could you tell me which could be the problem? thanks a lot! Luciano- from Argentina
Appreciate your videos. All are very informative. Thanks for sharing, makes life under the car so much easier :)
all your video are helpful , thank's
Thank you for that
*Good video, but I wouldn't use the copper washers on the banjo bolt again, change them everytime or you'll have leaks.*
I need to remove turbo from my tdi caddy van. 2013 model.... Looks like going by schematics they are one piece?
Thank you for making the video bud! It is a great tutorial 👍😀
Putting the jack under the tyre is a bad idea unless you have another jack lying around! What else are people going to use to lift the car if something disastrous happens?
Thx for the vid and for your effort sir!
Do you have to remove the EGR cooler to do this? I have the BXE on the touran? If so do you have a video of the cooler removal?
Hiya, great videos.
Could tell me if these are the same turbos on the 1.9tdi ford galaxy as it's a vw engine. I have the 6 speed manual.
Cheers
Really well made and thought out Video Thanks
mate if i can pull this off in 7.30 ill be jumping for joy....... hahahahahaahaha, looks easier than me S3...... great vid ;)
Great video.👍You certainly don't believe in taking chances.
great little video mate...nice one
Hi Mate
Really enjoy your videos. The issue I'm having with VW PASSAT 1.9 TDI 2004 model is that there is trail of smoke (greyish white) left behind once I've pressed hard on acceleration, and on occasion goes on limp mode. I did finaly get an "emissions workshop" which I thought it was the cause, but had that checked and cleared still the same. I've also been topping coolant say every 4k miles, not sure if that's has anything to do with smoke issue...
Please give me your opinion soon, and thanks...
If you're losing coolant and blowing white smoke out the back it could be a head gaskest issue. On the other you could have a coolant leak and worn turbo seals. You could take it to a garage and have them check it out or just live with it. Does the car use oil?
Bravo. Good job!
Hi BMAC VAGS, i have a problem; i want to change my tiguan2013 fog light bulbs but i cant find any video for this, please load a video for this.? Thank you
