- Harrogate in North Yorkshire. With out a doubt one of the wealthiest places in The North of England. If you are looking for some of the best restaurants, bars, and designer shops then look no further.
Harrogate is the Mayfair of The North. With it’s very own Ivy Restaurant and Bettys Cafe and Tea Rooms. If you are looking for the best afternoon tea, then Bettys Cafe and Tea Rooms is in a league of it’s own, even rivalling that of The Ritz.
Are you a fan of Gin? Well I’ll show you The Spirit of Harrogate, home of Slingsby Gin after which you can visit The Blues Cafe Bar with Live music every night and a Gin Bar above.
If you want to pamper yourself then take a visit to The Turkish Baths. The Turkish Baths Harrogate is the flagship Harrogate spa experience, offering genuine Victorian Turkish baths surroundings and contemporary treatments.
If shopping is your thing then there's no shortage of Shops and designer shops such as Molton Brown, Joe Malone and L'Occitane as well as 100's of designer labels.
You can spend the day shopping, then pamper yourself at the Turkish Baths then spend an evening in one of the many restaurants.
Harrogate also has a plethora of hotels to choose from.
If you just fancy wandering around then Harrogate has a selection of Parks and open spaces to choose from such as Valley Gardens and The Stray.
Harrogate in North Yorkshire has it all, it really is The Mayfair of The North.
If you want to know what to do in Harrogate and where to go in Harrogate. Then look no further.

I live in Harrogate and it is absolutely brilliant, especially in summertime when the weather is gorgeous like it is at the moment!
Harrogate was in WEST YORKSHIRE till 1974 (i was born in Harrogate '71) but the county of Yorkshire was divided originally into Ridings. When they changed from Ridings the boundaries changed, so Harrogate was then part of North Yorkshire. East Yorkshire became Humberside :D
Never been in Betty's Tea rooms, too posh hahahah but i did have an Aunty worked there decorating cakes and Easter eggs
I used to work in a shop next to the Theatre called Pips sold school uniforms and stuff for babies and children mostly in the late 80's till i moved to the south west in 1990 :P
Great vid, i usually watch your Tenerife vlogs :D
@@Mistysmudge1 Sounds like a free upgrade to me 😂
A lovely tour thank you!
Speaking of getting knocked over as I’ve lived in Harrogate all 16 years of my life I can tell you the people their can’t drive and its never usually this sunny but great video
Did Bettys Tea Room, The Ivy, Civic Trail, Valley Park, the 'tour tree' carving, Pump Room Museum the whole nine yards last weekend. What a stunning beautiful town Harrogate is! Well done Lee for this terrific vlog. It gives a real flavour of some of what the town has to offer and will inspire many to visit!
Oh my god!...I lived there almost 2 years, near the Rat & Parrot Pub...I love Harrogate 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
I really like the music choices in your vods, it gives a nice relaxing atmosphere :)
We moved to Harrogate in March, just days before lockdown and we couldn't be happier, fell in love with the town and the surrounding area, I don't know if it was because of lockdown but it's made us so grateful for the town and so so glad to have escaped London!! Great Video
@John Buffalo I am 98 you seem very judgemental... perhaps don't bother coming to Harrogate, it's full of a wonderful blend of people with a variety of accents, both posh and traditional Yorkshire farming folk... but they all have one thing in common, they're thoroughly decent and friendly people, clearly, you wouldn't fit in.
Awwww my home town! Great to catch it on a sunny day. Great video
C'mon onwards 😀 Thanks for this video. What a gorgeous place and energy!
Harrogate looks a great place to visit 😎
Haven't been for a couple of years but we love (arragut) Harrogate.😀
Been watching all your blogs really good use to like the castle pub in Tenerife watching only fools and horses and watching Graham Gold performing in one of the bars love a bit of country music way back in 91 lol
Glad to see my home town on UA-cam 😁🥰
Didn't realise Harrogate had an 'Ivy' thanks for that Lee.... just booked a table there for next month! Staying at The Crown also!
Hey Nice!!!!! Let me know how it goes. :0)
Sure thing! Super vlog, really wetted the appetite for our visit!
It's so much nicer than the york one! enjoy
Beautiful place very nice dosent look like you see a lot of those type of people who beg for £ ! Looks safe and polished perfect Thankyou enjoyed this Lee
You would see many of those type of people if you lived here.
Nice vlog it's a lovely place .Can't wait for the next Tenerife ones .Stay safe x
Would loved to have visited 90 years ago , no porches or spoons , great place though
Cheers Lee 😆
Thanks for your wonderful video. A very beautiful British city.
I love England 🇬🇧
It's only a town, It is beautiful though.
I love a short break in Harrogate, the parks are beautiful in late spring x
I'm a Yorkshire lass and I've been to many places and lived in Turkey 25 years but ya can't beat God's own country some amazing places and the most friendliest of people !
I love Yorkshire don't get me wrong, but it's James Martin syndrome all over again - bang on about how great it is while residing plenty far away! Obviously you can beat "God's own country" otherwise you'd be bloody living there 🙄😂
The one major location you missed was the Stray, vast open fields in the middle of town.
I filmed this town only yesterday. Harrogate is a great place. I've filmed york, scarborough, Bridlington & even my city Leeds. Thanks for sharing your video.
Good vlog, would love to go there one day, so much to do & see in Yorkshire.
Loved this this is my home townnnn
Hi lee . My wife and I were in Harrowgate for the first time last September we had a fantastic time..I went to the exhibition centre on the Monday for the carpet show...
Worked in Harrogate many times really nice place ....safe journey today mate Pete c
If you come back you should explore West Park and Cold Bath Road as well, lots more interesting shops, bars and restaurants to be found.
Hi hello from Catherine .cork Ireland . Never being looks a beautiful place . 🥰
Hi there. Thank you. 😎
@@TheMacMaster when are you off to tenerife is it tomorrow?
It is. ✈️🎥☀️🎬
If you come back to Harrogate you should see valley gardens and maybe some things that may be a bit out of town like the swimming pools and the cinemas like things to do if your there
Can't believe I missed you been watching all your Tenerife blogs I live here back to the knightstrider tomorrow safe flight
Lee, did you know Betty's Tea Rooms were owned by Taylor's of Harrogate, makers of Yorkshire Tea? We couldn't get in, the queue was round the block. Our visit had a lot of negatives, but read to the end for the positives.
I studied at Ripon College in the 70's, so when a coach trip to the Xmas Market came up a couple of years ago (pre covid) , I travelled with my late cousin and his guide dog from Worcestershire to North Yorkshire on a nostalgic trip...or so I thought.
People were very rude, barging my cousin and giving no consideration to his guide dog.
One pub wouldn't let us in " for the dog's safety", even though the pub was almost empty. The landlord "suggested" we could use the outdoor seating. This was late November!
Worse, we couldn't find a chip shop anywhere! Harrogate is too posh for nosh.
Gino's looked good, but the prices.......😮
On the plus side, the Winter Gardens was a beautiful building, now a Wetherspoons but the ornate decor, upper terrace/ balcony and incredible staircase (all baroque, I think) all preserved perfectly.
The manager and staff were run off their feet, but all took time to make sure my cousin and his dog were OK and even offered drinking water for the dog. It was heaving, but we got served and they offered to help find a seat, though we were fine standing near the bar.
Full marks to them, people at the Xmas Market and other people who were more friendly and helpful, but we vowed never to visit again.
I went there a couple of weeks ago. Lovely place for a short break. Excellent food in The Old Bell.
Loved this.cheers
Brilliant vlog of Harrogate there’s a fab American restaurant there called the Cattleman’s Association great steaks & burgers
Hi Lee
I’m looking forward to the Tenerife vids.
This is good but a bit like watching Tiger Woods play snooker 😂
LOL! :)
Great video Macmaster, but we live in Harrogate, North Yorkshire not West Yorkshire.
I know I put an overlay saying North Yorkshire. :0)
Really nice little walkabout in Harrogate. Good luck next week ... Ray
We like to dub Harrogate 'The Range Rover capital of the U.K'
Lol. 😂
Loving these city vlogs Lee. Went to Chester recently, very interesting place. Would make an interesting video for your channel.
Chester is not nice..was very disappointed..
Looks lovely there never been but must go now, and all them beautiful cars 💷🚘😂the old buildings look beautiful, its lovely and Green beautiful gardens 💚 love all them buildings so much history, England has got some beautiful places to see, great video again Lee thanks for showing us this beautiful town👌im with you with that Lee love Aldi and Lidl 😂👍Have a safe journey tomorrow and say hi to Andrew 👋bet you cant wait for that first frosted glass beer🍺 when you get there (Lets go )😊🚶♂️✈🧳🍺🌞
Ha Let's go!!! Alhambra time. ✈️ 🎥 ☀️ 🎬 🍺 🍺
Where’s the Stray in all this? - 300 acres of stunning grassland and trees which are the crowning glory of the town, not even featured! No mention either of the important historic buildings like the Pump Room and Royal Hall.
Travel lodge and spoons wot more do ya need !!! Come on lets go !!!
Another great vlog Lee, I reckon you'd fit in rather nicely in Harrogate, after all you do drive a Porsche lol
Really enjoy your vlogs, keep up the good work.
Thank you. 😎
Betty's is very nice but nothing would possess me to queue up for expensive sandwiches and cakes.
You can tell it's posh in Harrogate, the stuff in the charity shops is
more expensive.
Harrogate is really nice and yes has some wealthy people there =- remember being there about 10-12 years ago and was in a bar that specialised in gin and artisan ales run by a guy with a top knot a big beard tatts and a check shirt and I thought - this will never take off - turned out he was ahead of the flipping game !!!!!
Good vlog good choice☕🍻
Mayfair of the north,in that case watch out for robbers on scooters, muggers hunting rich clueless Russians down.
I'm actually starting to enjoy these videos now that it's not just Spain
Looks really nice
Hi lee I never been there but looks very nice stay safe
Very nice, very nice indeed👌
nice i have been there as well it was amazing
Great walking tour of Harrogate pls see free walking tour of Harrogate on Facebook 😊👍
We stayed in Harrogate last weekend, great place
Never been but looks soo lovely ..makes me miss the UK Lee..🇬🇧🇱🇷♥️
Nice on a sunny day. 😎
Excellent tour!!! Funny and engaging
Looks like a really nice place
Beautiful town Harrogate, quick question about Tenerife how much is a taxi from Tenerife South airport into Las Américas cheers, and keep up the good work 👍
@@robertmitchell3701 thanks for the reply, how did they try and rip you?
I would say Harrogate is more akin to Greenwich or Tunbridge Wells rather than Mayfair but great video 😊
Happy travels tomorrow ✈️✈️😎
Hope everything is ok for your flight to Tenerife and hope your mum is much better Elaine oxford x
The hotels in Harrogate might look nice but the grand old ones are actually shockingly bad now unfortunately.
Forget hotels see if George Graham would put you up...... when he was manager of Leeds, Leeds, Leeds he reputedly moved to Harrogate and had an Arsenal badge done in the tiles in his porch or vestibule...... real commitment to the cause lol
Haven't been Harrogate for a while. One of my sons use to be up in the army college up there beautiful place x
I went to Ripon College, we were warned to avoid 'squaddies', or choose which window to leave by. Later I served on the Committee of my social club with one of those ex squaddies!
Travelling to to Tenerife on the 30th, hoping to see the MacMaster.
Heres one for you the Harrogate Theatre is rumoured to have its own ghost and they filmed some of paddington bear 2 here down by the Nidd river viaduct
They would like to think they are the Mayfair of the north but it’s not.
Absolutely beautiful place thank you for all the great content .. will you be filming the airport again to show the changes since you last went ? Take care
Thank you. I sure will. 🎥
I have a question I am due to fly 29th can you tell me does airlines send this health form or do I have too find it online ?? And do I have too print it out ? Thank you
www.spth.gob.es
You fill it out 48 hours prior to travelling then show the QR Code when you land.
Yes but where do I get the form from please will it be sent via email from airline ? Is it on website or do I need to find it online sorry for confusing questions lol
Great video! Harrogate is a fantastic town, would be even better without the Wetherspoons. (ps - Harrogate is in North Yorkshire, not West Yorkshire! You got it right in the text but not at the start of the video commentary.)
Read my comment above. The Wetherspoons was far and away the most guide dog friendly place in the town. One pub refused us entry, but I made sure he was reported and I wrote a scathing review on Trip Advisor
My Dads favorite place is Tenerife they go every Feb for 3 weeks he must of been 30 odd times
Bucket of mussels in the Drum and Monkey .... cant beat Harrogate ..... but Ilkley, Ripon, Otley and Skipton may have something to say about it, and York for that matter. Great vid Lee, very positive, as always.
Where are the homeless , kipping in the street or the junkies , flopping all over the pavements and benches ?...This is so strange .
Ripon for history and beautiful settings, York too, but on a bigger scale
If you fancy something cheaper than the fancy restaurants, then there's an excellent chippy next to the bus station!
There's a chippy? 😮 We couldn't find one for love nor money.
Going to have a few days in Harrogate when things get to normal looks good on live in co Durham so no excuse lee
Harrogate is the capital centre of Europe
The question is what happens when more and more people get confidence and decide to come out? Wagamamas is gonna have a queue round the corner.
Just watching Tim’s latest vlog listing to how he could go into merchandising could you incorporate his brain boxgear design onto a t shirt could you help.
Dont you drive a porsche and have (or had and sold) an apartment in new york.
Lol. I do. But technically it's not my Porsche as it's on lease and sold my apt in NYC as moved back to England. Plus it's a poor man's Porsche as I keep getting reminded. 😉
When you live in Harrogate
I lived in Harrogate for 5 years and have now been living in Marylebone \ Mayfair for 5 years. Harrogate is a nice town but more akin to Tunbridge Wells than Mayfair. Harrogate has much to be enjoyed and some very nice people. Down sides are the many people who drive Porsches with bald tyres & a massive contingent of people relying on state benefits owing to the poor pay to property price ratio. Mayfair is ok for Instagram photos, but is lifeless. You wouldn’t want to live there unless you were a hedge fund manager with a second home in the cotswolds. Upside is the Mayfair Chippy, the only fish and chip shop I deem adequate within the m25. Mind you, you might need therapy after paying £42 for one of each twice and 2 cans of pop including delivery fee.
Much like the water in the famous Tunbridge Wells....
Do an afternoon tea!
Jet2 just cancelled me this morning to Tenerife. due to fly 29th august ..Grrrrrrrr Ah well Gran canaria In March ..
I live in harrogate
Great video can you do York please
Yes. Done it before. I'll do it again. Great place.
enjoy your flight
Thank you.
Thanks for hearting mackmaster
No problem Bruno. Thanks for watching. 🕶
No long walks with no water this time Lee looking forward to your new Tenerife Vlogs time for you to get Alambered lol
Many people are correcting you about Harrogate being in North Yorkshire but historically it was part of West Yorkshire until the 70's. Not that it matters.
There's no need. Corrected myself as I added a correct text over the video. 😉
Yorkshire Tea is from Harrogate
This is the equivalent on UA-cam of Jane McDonald ... but interesting.
U don’t know it has the best afternoon tea unless u have tried around the world 😉
Lol. It's probably not. But it sounds better on the vlog. 😎
I live there you went by my house
😁👍🏼👍🏼
North Yorkshire!
Yep. I put in massive letters as a correction NORTH YORKSHIRE! 👍🏼👍🏼
When was this filmed macmaster
Today. 👍🏼👍🏼
@@TheMacMaster hope your all packed and ready for tomo looking forward to see in you with the knightstrider it's go into be hot walking around with a mask on
I know. Not looking forward to the Mask thing.
Hi Lee Great vlog but you stated twice Harrogate is in West Yorkshire as you know it is in NORTH Yorkshire
Yes and I put North Yorkshire as a correction. Any way Yorkshire is all the same isn't it. Flat Caps and Whippets. 😉 I can say that as I have Yorkshire children. Bringing them up to support Forest 😎
Hi Lee Forget Forest it should be Mansfield Town ??
Lol. 😂 😂 👍🏼
Up the Sulphurites 💛🖤
Betty's tea room drinking coffee 🤔
Lets go lol
