    Even as a male I like the addition of the tampon, it shows you truly thought of everything and didn't leave our mothers and sisters behind. Cheers.

    Making my own from bamboo which was free. It's hollow that the point, can put a torch, five pound plastic note we now have. Spike with tip and rubber sheath for water protection. You get the satisfaction having done it your self as well.

    Nice idea but at $250 I'll make do with a $5 wooden pole, and a $20 "fanny pack" with my own assorted survival accessories

    Why is everyone ragging on this guy? He is just trying to promote his idea. Don't buy one if you don't want one. It is a nice concept. I'm not a player for it but so what? He is trying to make his idea come to life. How would you like everyone to trash your ideas. People really suck.

    I have used a hiking staff since the seventies, however I carry all my survival stuff in my pack, belt, pockets. I have multiple survival packs in various place on my person and in my gear, in case my stuff get separated from me. Now my staff does have a feature to make use of Buck's Kinetic Survival Spear Points, don't get me wrong, Dudes got his own approach, more power to him. Some guys like Fords, some Chevys, some S$W and some Glocks. What works for us is as different as each one of us.

    Nice job. It's well thought out. I'm going to say that, I could fill that tube with supplies for a lot less than 150 bucks. I could probably do it for around 30 to 40 tops. I realize there was a lot of time and effort to label everything. The braiding of the paracord, etc. For the amount of work you've put in..I'd say you are probably asking a fair price. But I also think, this can be done for about 50 bucks, at home. If not less. It does have a good comprehensive inventory, and again, it's very well thought out. Nice video as well..I'll give you 3 stars out of five..best I can do.

    Too bad the audio and video aren't very good. BTW, a gentleman uploaded a video of how to build these about 4 years ago. Very easy to make and supply. It was made out of gray sch. 40 pvc. I think it cost me about 30 dollars for everything to make it. The little plastic tubes were the only things I had to order. They are for keeping various size coins in for coin collecting. Also there are 2 guys on here making them out of wood, I think one is retired military Col. makes and sells them.

    That's exactly like one I built, except mine has an internal missile launcher with a bazillion round capacity. Also if used when wearing dorky Elton John round glasses it becomes a magic stick in which I become leader of Hogwarts able to turn the entire Slithering into newts.
    Okay....but our sticks are very similar.

    if I was going to build my own Survival Staff, I would include a bang stick on one end of it. for those who are unfamiliar with a bang stick, it is a contact discharged, 12 gauge shotgun with practically no barrel, commonly used to deter sharks while scuba diving. I'm sure such a setup is perfectly illegal and would get you locked up for possessing or selling such an item. that's why I began my comment with if I were to make one at home. the beauty of the bank stick feature is its very easily disguised. since it's a scuba diving tool, it's already waterproof. of course you would want a fool-proof safety on that bad boy, LOL!

    • @blairtaylor9552
      @blairtaylor9552 3 роки тому

      Exactly. Mine is a martial arts tapered Bo staff- 1" center, and tapers to 3/4" at the ends. It was expensive- hickory on both sides, with brazilian walnut (Ipe) sandwiched through the center. I find a good length is from the ground, to the tip of ones' nose. Mine is perfectly straight, and very stong construction- you can't get much stronger than hickory laminated with brazilian walnut. On the ends, I sanded down a little, put brass tubing on both ends, with 80 durometer polyurethane rubber tips coming out the ends- for grip and to absorb a little shock. Drilled through for solid stainless pins to hold the parts on. It's one-of-a-kind, and I should probably make my own video! No garbage integrated in- just the strongest/straightest walking staff in the world, with nice rubber tips on both ends. Tip parts (brass tubing/80 durometer polyurethane rubber rod/solid pins), were ordered from macmaster.com

    I have to say it...do a new video, with better sound. I like the concept, though. How strong is the staff tubing, if you need to use it for self-defense? I see some ragging on the tampon, but a woman would probably appreciate carrying one in this staff.
    I would try to roll up an emergency space blanket and a water bag, but then, I tweak just about everything I get my hands on, and I like to assemble my own kits.

    • @leejohnson8095

      Cetok01 not speaking for all women, but ONE is soooo not enough 😝. Plus we can only leave the one in for so long before it will actually kill us. Then where would we put it when it’s used. UGH. • @wmluna381
      @wmluna381 Рік тому

      A tampon can be used as a fire starter (in conjunction with a tube of chapstick that can be thrown in there), dry fire tinder, and to mitigate bleeding. Very limited and gendered thinking there on your part.

    • @Cetok01
      @Cetok01 Рік тому

      @@wmluna381 "Gendered thinking?" Seriously, you want to go there? I was talking about the use of a tampon for first aid, and I agree it has limited uses for other things such as fire tinder. I used to believe the myth that tampons could be useful for packing a bullet wound, but I learned better; soaking up blood isn't the same as stopping bleeding. However, a woman WOULD appreciate it for its INTENDED purpose: soaking up blood. You might want to try thinking with any remaining non-PC part of your brain before making such accusations.

      @@SaveUrSurvival I love the idea. I have been looking at many options. I found the canteen idea awesome! Some of these comments are ridiculous. Pay no attention, it is a great concept. I would love to purchase a modified one or if there is a place you listed plans on the basic stick please share and I would love to build my own. You deserve to be compensated but you may be better off selling at guns shows etc.

    Looked like a great idea until he walked away with it, a little weird, uncomfortable, or maybe he is just a little fellow.

    All it is is PVC pipe with male adapters on both end with a female threaded cap screwed onto the male adapter.

    okay lol first of all, thats not a 'water purifying system" its called: dropping a water purification tablet into a PVC pipe and shaking it. and where is the $150 worth of items cause i saw only one tampon ...OOOH WAIT! that was one of those new multi-use tampons (nosebleed stopper/ fire starter/ earplug/ sponge/ fishing lure) ...i suppose i can see where $143.99 of that $150.00 is coming from. people, just make your own lol this is a JOKE!

      If you can't manage to see through a clear tube and listen to someone speak then you are probably not one of the preppers that get to be called a survivor. That's okay, we'll put your stuff to good use. :) multi purpose knife. fishing line, bobbers, super glue, needles, saftey pins, lighters, flashlight, tinder, matches, saw, duct tape, electrical tape, Advil, Benadryl bug spray, magnesium rod,, water tablets, bandages, tea, bullion cubs, etc etc etc. Each tub is totally filled. Half the art of this staff is the creative way they have gotten SOOOO much into them.

    IDK if a person had to carry all the crap these "Survival Experts" say they need they would die of a Heart attack before they walked a mile. I am "Inventing" a "Survival Wagon" so they can pull the stuff behind them, $999.95 any color you want ( I have to paint over the "Radio Flyer Logo" anyway........LOL

      I think if you make the wagon "tacticool" you could get 1499.95.

      When I was a LOT younger, growing up on a farm in BFE, all my buddies and I were like "Survivalist". In the spring and fall we took off for the Woods. a 22 rifle, machete, frying pan, oil and corn meal and a Tarp. we would stay 2-3 weeks hunting,fishing,trapping. Living like Native Americans are suppose too???. Made our own bows and spears, fished with cane poles. Lived like kings, we didn't have all this "Survival Gear" But we did have a couple red wagons !!!

      It was set to retail at $129 fully loaded with all supplies. We didn't feel quite ready to leave the prototype stage. If we made a "how to" video to build your own would that interest you? Hopefully, it will leave prototype soon.

    don't let your hand be over your shoulder when walking with a stick: uncomfortable, not effective, makes you look like you never walked with a stick more than the time necessary to realize the previously mentioned, that's usually around a minute.

    Your survival items should be on your person at all times, in case you lose your stick/stuff, so fundamentally not really a good idea.

    I saw an interesting version on Instructables.com I believe it was. They use a 3 or 4 cell Maglite without the light part on it. The light part slid down over your stick. Then you have a sturdy case (the maglite itself with a screw on and waterproof cap so you can stash goodies inside.. Slap some paracord down from the maglite, add a pointy end maybe with a spear point under a rubber cover.. www.instructables.com/id/Survival-Walking-Stick/
