I know I'm a year late to the party...but thanks so much for the video outlining the REAL tricks to making this job less of a bear! I'm replacing my cat on my 2020 RS...can't wait!
I've just watched this video again to refresh my memory. Sad day today, removing all my mods inc the x pipe as I will be trading in the speed twin this weekend. It was fun while it lasted but time for a change now.
The ch which is at the bottom of your tank under the seat is the guy who did the pinstripes signed his initials on the tank I don't know if you new that great video fantastic bike 🇬🇧👍🏻
Good job Mr. Pants. Only 4 hours? Took me a lot longer than that. I put a Motone Xpipe on a T120 Bonnville in 2 hours thinking that was tough. So many different types and sizes of nuts, bolts and screws to deal with. But it made a very noticeable difference in the way the bike performed and sounded. So first thing on my list was to put a Motone Xpipe on my Speed Twin followed by Predator Pros. It was a much more complex and time consuming process than on the T120. Frame is different, new mounting plate under the crankcase and a crossover pipe between the exhaust headers all contributed to more difficulty in the process. But again, the results were worth the effort.
Good content, but was Michael J Fox holding the camera? Shaky as hell... lol Triumph really made it a pain in the dick to change that cat out... Loosening headers, removing part of the frame, etc... There had to be a better way to design things, right?
Haha yeah my early videos werent the best quality. Ive since moved to a cam with better stabilization. As far as triumph goes, they can't make a catalytic converter easy to remove lol thank the awful EPA regulations for that! Some newer bikes actually have the cat welded on to deter people
@@NicePantsLance Triumph cats are tough AF to remove. Really hard material to drill and pound out. Kawi is the opposite, soft and more fragile, takes much less effort and time to rip them out
Yes I agree the job is a SOB but worth it when completed. Took me 4 hours too

Absolutely! Whoever it is, did a phenomenal job. It was totally worth spending extra $$$ on the storm grey/silver ice
@@NicePantsLance same colour as mine 🇬🇧👍🏻
What’s the brand of your x pipe
Cone Engineering
Do you need to have the bike on a rear stand to do this? Thanks
No, I did it without the stand
@@NicePantsLance thanks bro appreciate it!
Thanks for watching 🤘
