      @Albert Sausageworth Certainly gave me context as to why I should listen to ANYTHING Eddie Bravo says at all. Doesn't mean I have to agree with it, or any of it, but to see that editing and recap...puts so much more of his opinions and he and Rogan's commentary about BJJ and MMA in better context.

      Harry Poosie it’s always funny to me how people say “The Gracies” like they are some amalgam. There are A LOT of Gracie family members, all with varying philosophies and viewpoints. Some of the Gracie family members, like Royce for example, don’t like Eddie but there are plenty that don’t hate him at all. Rickson respects him, I’ve asked Relson personally about Eddie Bravo and he doesn’t have much of an opinion at all about him, he’s indifferent but he certainly doesn’t hate him.

      Inspirational, sure. Problem is, it only works for 1% of people. We look at those 1% and say, "that's what I gotta do". But in 99% of the times, we end up in the 99% group. That's the sad reality.

    • @theabhorrentchef7226
      @theabhorrentchef7226 2 роки тому +4

      I think it’s more like only 1% follow through and actually keep pushing and advancing themselves.
      99% of people settle in and just think about what they want to happen but they don’t make moves towards it.
      There's nothing wrong with either as long as you aren’t lying to yourself about what’s up.

    He's got some wild ideas, but I have nothing but respect for the man. Him talking about becoming his own boss legit made me tear up as a miserable welder and metal fabricator. Only recently have I realized my dreams are more attainable than I realize and Eddie is a true inspiration.

    • @scottoverbey
      @scottoverbey 5 років тому +22

      A Horse Outside Hey man it’s all about perspective. I would love to be able to be a welder and a fabricator on cars or in general. I think fabricating on cars is really cool and interesting. His first choice was to make it big playing music but that didn’t make money so he started 10th planet and that led to him making money and being able to do what he loves (making music) on the side. So you can be a welder and still do what you love on the side or you could start your own shop/business to be your own boss, just lemme be your apprentice lol

    • @Enorbs96
      @Enorbs96 5 років тому +13

      Haha thanks. Yeah I think owning my own business would really make the welding fun again in a way. What's tainted the industry for me is the people. Every boss I've had is driven by massive ego and they're basically bullies. And a lot of the guys in the field generally tend to be dicks especially since I'm 22 and that makes me the youngest person pretty much everywhere I go. I could definitely see myself making metal art and working in cars as a side thing if I could somehow get a different job

    • @ericsmithner3392
      @ericsmithner3392 5 років тому +5

      A Horse Outside don’t worry about the dicks. Walk away and create your own. Do what “you” love!! As long as you have that desire yourself all these other people are just in your way. Learn thru em and keep pushing my boi!!!!

      Your dreams are attainable if you want them. If you can't believe in yourself first then believe in someone similar to yourself. Then realise you're truly no different. Did you know no body ever ran a 4 minute mile until one Pro did it, then everyone in the game almost did that over the few years cos they learnt they could

    Best part is at 4:40 , gotta love Eddies storytelling.
    "He said that UFC thing was *real*, man."
    - Really? It looked fake.
    "Yeah, he said some iranian guy was grabbing em by the throat with 2 fingers and just chocking em out"
    - WHAT?! What about KARATE!?
    "He beat EVERY style!"
    And of course, he was talking about Royce Gracie, the brazilian.
    To me, the funniest thing about it is that it just took Eddie a single UFC tournament to ditch karate completely.

    It's amazing how Bravo at 33 is one of the best BJJ artists but yet considered a failure for the whole music thing. Fuck the haters and do what you love. While he loved his artistic musical expression, he clearly had a deeper passion for Jiu Jitsu and never let that musical expression die. He's a class act and a true inspiration that even tho things don't go as planned, and the outcome isn't what you intended, things will workout with hard work and perseverance

    Eddie Bravo is a man who should be recognized through out time! He is a perfect example of what imperfect man should strive to be! He questions, he analyzes and he comes up with the best solutions that logic affords. Then, like a true man, he bravely stands by his conclusions no matter how much opposition he faces. He's confident in his intuition and ability to ask the right questions and stick to his guns until his conclusions are absolutely proven wrong. And, I would bet the farm, he's a man who sleeps well at night!!!!

    I couldn't agree more with Eddie. I did Jiujitsu for a short while, my first immediate observation was how much I could do with my legs, and nobody was using them on the floor. I saw my legs as additional arms when under an opponent, and in fact, i would prefer to always be under as I felt so much protection and attack from the use of the legs... Except nobody was showing me any such moves...
    In any event, I was just a beginner at the time and never went back to the sport. I always knew that if I thought about this many others would have... But as it turns out, not many, as people tend to follow others' teachings so blindly. So it s amazing now so many years later to see Eddie has done just that for himself and now teaching others, really cool guy.
