I just stumble upon this. Wow, she's flawless
Brittni Paiva proves jazz is alive, and growing. And this warms my heart. Thank you Brittni!
Little gems like this are why I love UA-cam...
Totally agree. I found this after landing on Brittni's 'Lochs of dread'. Wonderful. As a relative newcomer to the ukulele (I play baritone), I'll be tracking down a lot more of this amazing young woman's uploads.
Amen!
brian lucas More like a big gem "Brian"
Shining gems!!!!
It always does my heart good to see a young person with respect for the classics.
Brilliant take on a classic. Take a bow.
What a fabulously talented musician.🙂🙂🙂
Excellent! His influence was vast, and he will be greatly missed. Thanks for this nice interpretation of an all-time classic.
Nailed it.
Wonderful, happy, great. Thank you
Amazing performance!!!! How can anyone give a dislike on this?? They must be really sick.
Thank you for your critique. I appreciate any and all thoughts about how I can improve. :)
wonderful..... R.I.P. Dave B.
BRITTNI ROCKS JAZZ!
Yes, this is what its al about, playing beautiful music.
It is a privilege to hear such a fine musician. Thank you kindly.
Splendidly done. Did not think possible a uke as lead for Take Five could do justice to Brubeck's jazz masterpiece. She hits and picks all notes cleanly and professionally. Congrats!
Really, with only 4 strings?
@@stevehardy7584 Y'all can discuss the features and peculiarities of of this instrument, but we here admire the artist. We're on our sixth listen. We hope you make it big. You seem to have a fine voice with a genuine lilting quality to it. We heard some notes that reminds us Patsy Cline's early Radio recordings. Yes, we're old, but we're not deaf. Best regards, Don and Martha
Last night in a Geneva homeless shelter (as there was a duo playing for an occasion to us) I wrote to a paper "Brittni Paiva: Take Five on youtube" and handed this suggestion quitely to a friend without a word spoken or anyone else /let alone the musicians several meters away/noticing us. In about 30 seconds the duo started playing the "Take Five"...How is that for transcendental music? Not me-Brittni did it!
first cool ukulele number Iv'e ever seen. I'm going to listen to more of it.
Very good. I'll have to check out more videos of Brittni.
So nice, crisp and clean. Luv them fingas; seems like they have a mind of their own. Best ukulele version I've heard on the net, including those backed up by orchestras; and I've heard many of them over the years.
Wow,,, Britni this would be a honor for a man I met in a smokey club in 1976, it was capacity too, club, and Ronnie Scott's famous jazz club, Frith St London, Mr Dave Bruebeck, he was amazing, and wow, to hear a young person playing one of his massive classics is just incredible
A great version this song, good job Brittni
Absolutely fantastic!!!
Brittani, this is one of my all time favorites. I come back to it all the time. You really nailed the essence of what it's like to 'take 5' and make the world stop for a moment.
One of my favourite songs and I've never heard anyone close to Brubeck, until now, different but wow.
Very well done Brittni. Really enjoyed this.

Oh my, I am loving the sound. This has to be one of the coolest pieces to be played on a ukulele ♥♪♫♪♥♫♪♥ Ah, how can someone not love jazz
Wow. Real feeling in that.
P.S. I just want to add that this is not only great ukelele playing; It is also a brilliant performance of a classic jazz piece, showing a musical sensibility way beyond her years.
Thanks Brittni,Your playing of this song has made me one happy fellow .
Gawd, I love the Uke.
Outstanding!!!!!
Super Cool Musicianship. Always respect a musician of this caliber. The melody of take five is prevalent but what makes this so so special is her interpretation. Class Musician from the word go.
Just brilliant!
Awesome! Mahalo from a long time (from the 60's) Brubeck fan.
THE BEST cover of "Take Five" I've heard...I really mean it! :-)

I like how she faded it out at the end.
This girl really makes me smile. I had no idea the ukulele could sound so good.
Fantastic.
I came across this by accident searching for the original Dave Brubeck. I never heard of Brittni Paiva. This is totally outstanding, plus someone this young even knowing this classic piece, plus on a ukelele! The four dislikes I don't get.
Oh wow this is just great , thank you.
Incredible! Congratulations!
Wow! never heard a damn uke sound like that before, always thought they could only just go plinka plinka! Go Brittni!
Wonder cover. No words. Soooo cool, perfect.
That was simply amazing
I love this music, Dave Brubeck sure had a genius way of music..
+brian critchley Just a minor correction... "Take Five" was actually written by Desmond, the rest of the numbers on "Time Out" are by Brubeck.

nothing pretentious or forced , this is the real thing : MUSIC FROM THE HEART
Hey Brittni , the sound you get there on some of it reminded me of the bauzauki in "the third man theme" , give one a whirl sometime .
Amazing!
彼女の演奏は心を安らげてくれる。味わい深い。音楽の正道を歩もうとしている人なのだと思う。気品が感じられる。
If I need a quick pick me up, this is the vid that I come back to times and again..Thank you Brittni

Chapeau bas ! Hat down! Wonderful job. I've been listening to hundreds of covers of that number, this is a great one. Cheers.
