You confused me. You said that diffusers often kill LED lights. But it wasn't clear whether you think this LED light overcomes that problem.

All scrims, diffusers or softboxes make the light (especially) LEDs lose a stop or more of light - these are very bright so they have been my best choice for using LEDs with modifiers and I do so often, most other lights become useless and I have to pump my ISo up to 1600+ to get a good exposure

So is it a proprietary power cable from the power brick to light head? How long is it? @3:40

It its pretty long - there are 2 cables - standard edison to wall and then other to the fixture.
