My issues with Quest 3: * Need to replace visor it comes with * Need to replace strap it comes with * Need to replace 18w power adapter it comes with (with 30-40w for faster charging) * Need to get extended battery life Beyond that, for multi-user households: * Secondary Accounts can't play DLC owned by Primary Accounts * Primary Accounts can't play anything owned by Secondary Accounts * Number of annoying technical deficiencies for Secondary Account users that Primary Account users don't face * Some games don't work for Secondary Account users at all, even if they own the game After all of those, I am still glad to have it. It is a good but expensive upgrade over the Quest 2 which had most of the same issues and none of the improvements.
Totally agree about the battery and accessories. I have spent an extra 150 uk pounds on a new battery headstrap, facial interface and fan. Does make it very expensive. Having said that, it is still well worth it. x
This accessory thing is the main reason why I didn't want another headset from Meta after the Quest 2... I want to know the price I need to pay for a good experience upfront and I don't want to research accessories. Since standalone is not that important to me I went with a Pico4. Took it out of the box, never needed to adjust anything and I can play for hours without any discomfort
I feel like it got slightly worst for some reason. One random day it seemed more stable and then it reverted back to being finnicky when I would try to close out windows. I hope they make haptic feedback gloves that are mostly used for productivity and hand tracking games.
Good video, it sounds like you would want the wrist-strap controller that they showed off recently for the AR Glasses, so you can still have good input while doing stuff without having to hold the controllers
I do like a lot what you can with the side loading Like I could add kde connect for clipboard sync with my PC and laptop (both in Linux) as well my phone You can have also your phone notifications show up in VR, since I believe meta did drop this feature officially before quest 3 launch by half a year I think? Or use syncthing, to auto download the quest videos onto my PC or my phone, much more convenient to have it in the background, uploading the videos instead of using the oculus app, or even move my entire (legally acquired) PSP games ; but do note, if you use it as pcvr wireless, your stream will get a fair bit choppy, to unplayable when it's moving the data around As there is moonlight (with sunshine), were you can stream your pc to the quest, and this way You could have the video you want to see on quest, chosen before on pc, then start it when you have the quest on , but it doesn't have good support for controlling the PC with hand tracking You could also sideload obsidian, for who writes his notes digitally and have them synced with syncthing It's sideloading the part I see it as an amazing headset for, as nowadays I mainly use it as pcvr, and rarely play on the device it self, it's just battery, original headstrap (and possible stick drift) are the things I don't like around
Very nice channel and video. Very informative and cozy, great potential for gaining a lot of followers. I recommend to zoom in your camera a bit (so you have just a small space above your head and ending around your elbow level), so there is more you in the video, rather than the empty room around you. And maybe some more light :) Just a few tips from a fellow try-hard-low-audience-hobby-blogger
I think the issues you mentioned are one of the main reasons I see a lot of Q3's on eBay, that are only a few months old. I bought mine on eBay from a guy who only had it a couple of weeks. I then had to buy a new head strap, facial interface, link cable, battery bank and more leads. I play a lot of PCVR coz the graphics are better, given that VR has been around as long as it has, I'm a little disappointed by the pace of software development. Most games I've tried which are Quest based, seem like tech demos Red Metter 1 & 2 being the exceptions. But I'll stick with it as I've invested so much and there's still some great games on PCVR.
the differences between each quest always felt massive in terms of quality. The problem I always had with both the 1 and 2 was after 30 minutes was just killing my brain and making my head uncomfortable
I got my quest last tuesday i love it so cool its my first vr and im blown away. Thanks for the tips gonna get a ir light next already have bobovr s3 pro headband yes battery pack is a must!!!
The video content is great, but the picture quality is a bit lacking. I bought the Quest 3 two months ago and ordered the Sonicgrace S3 Duo battery head strap for it. The experience has been fantastic, and I still think it was a great deal.
It is a shame we need so many accessories for the Quest 3 but i also understand their need to make the headset an appealing cost. I went from Oculus Rift to Quest 3 so i found the jump in quality amazing. Always though MR looked like a silly gimmick when watching videos on it but now i think it's one of the most exciting features on the quest. I watched one of the Resident Evil movies in 3D with passthrough last night and it's a much nicer and less isolating way to view media. Definitely hope more studios focus on more detailed passthrough games in 2025
i think the quest 2 facial interface u held up was a vr cover facial interface not a meta facial interface. Meta sold it later on tho but they never made it.
I bought the bobo vr pro headset and an extra battery. Just!N Tech tested most head gear with batteries and found the bobo vr pro has faster charging, takes less time to charge than it gives. This is a great video, but i don't know why she used meta accessories. They are trying to make up for their $50,000,000,00p loss.
I use Meta accessories because in my experience they fit better. I bought a bunch of 3rd party stuff for my Quest 2 (headstrap and controller grips) and they just didn't fit well. Ended up throwing them both out Metas products are way too expensive but I'd rather spend more and know it'll work
Excellent and thorough review! I believe there are three accessories you have to get and a fourth is optional. First, a headset because the jockstrap that comes with it is awful-I love my BOBOVR S3 halo strap (elite headstraps feel like a vice!) Second, the Oblik facial interface is custom made (pricey!) but feels so comfortable and gives u a great FOV. Third, prescription lenses are so much better than shoving glasses into the headset. And lastly, if u want hand straps do NOT buy the overpriced Meta straps! HZLucki (or drop ship equivalent) makes the IDENTICAL controller hand strap for only $8-15, not Meta’s $40 ones! Swappable batteries and docks and other accessories can also come after these necessities….keep up the great videos Princess!!!! 🥇
Im about to buy two 3s headsets, $500 aud for my kids who are young and just entering the VR space. I hope they will enjoy it enough to get the money out of it
The 3s should be perfect for them! There's a ton of good free to play games that they can try out, and Batman VR is included with the headset so you get even more value I think they'll be really happy with them!!
A cautionary tale for current and prospective Meta Quest VR headset owners: I'm now on day 44 of Meta holding my Quest headsets hostage. I've been using Oculus/Quest devices from the day they started making them (10 years ago?), and I have not been required to give my date of birth to Meta in all this time. But they recently demanded my DOB under threat of disabling my Quests, and they made good on that threat 44 days ago. *Meta can metaphorically brick your headsets, any time they want, and for any reason they want, and there's NOTHING you can do about it.* Conclusion: Think carefully before you BUY anything from Meta; The thing you BUY will not be yours.
Your cat is probably thinking what in the actual f*** is wrong with this human being, and why is that on her head when she's giving me food, lol. I have a question for ya. Do you need a PC to own one of these Quest 3 VR? I have the PSVR but can't stand having wires hanging off my head. I saw one of these VR Quest at Walmart. But I didn't see anything on what you would hook it up to.
your saying the meta 3 and 3s has plenty of power then the meta quest 2 interesting im going to get one indeed for steam link and yugioh game that is coming out soon and batman
My issues with Quest 3:
* Need to replace visor it comes with
* Need to replace strap it comes with
* Need to replace 18w power adapter it comes with (with 30-40w for faster charging)
* Need to get extended battery life
Beyond that, for multi-user households:
* Secondary Accounts can't play DLC owned by Primary Accounts
* Primary Accounts can't play anything owned by Secondary Accounts
* Number of annoying technical deficiencies for Secondary Account users that Primary Account users don't face
* Some games don't work for Secondary Account users at all, even if they own the game
After all of those, I am still glad to have it. It is a good but expensive upgrade over the Quest 2 which had most of the same issues and none of the improvements.
This is the first review for Quest 3 I've seen that actually mentions the fact that all of the most common complaints are solved by accessories
Only thing that was missed is that the unofficial accessories are often better and cheaper than the official meta ones.
Totally agree about the battery and accessories. I have spent an extra 150 uk pounds on a new battery headstrap, facial interface and fan. Does make it very expensive. Having said that, it is still well worth it. x
I just picked one up last weekend. I had the quest 2 but finally upgraded. It’s been a while experience all over again! Great video 😊
Appreciate that!
Yes! Only answer needed!
Great video!
Excellent review, Im finally upgrading from a Quest 1 to a Quest 3 and super excited.
Just ordered mine thanks for the information

I like the default strap for when lying down with the headset. I did get the kiwi Halo headstrong for $10 on sale though. Not bad I would say.
Crumbs! Loads of info presented in a very personable way! Many thanks.
Glad it was helpful!
My biggest disappointment with the Quest 3 after getting one a few weeks ago is the hand tracking, it's just not there yet.
I feel like it got slightly worst for some reason. One random day it seemed more stable and then it reverted back to being finnicky when I would try to close out windows.
I hope they make haptic feedback gloves that are mostly used for productivity and hand tracking games.

As there is moonlight (with sunshine), were you can stream your pc to the quest, and this way
You could have the video you want to see on quest, chosen before on pc, then start it when you have the quest on
, but it doesn't have good support for controlling the PC with hand tracking
You could also sideload obsidian, for who writes his notes digitally and have them synced with syncthing

It's worth 100% utilise. Eta need to do a small on all quest 3 controllers
the differences between each quest always felt massive in terms of quality. The problem I always had with both the 1 and 2 was after 30 minutes was just killing my brain and making my head uncomfortable
Agree! The comfort on both headsets really prevents any long term enjoyment.
Appreciate the comment Andyy!!
I got my quest last tuesday i love it so cool its my first vr and im blown away. Thanks for the tips gonna get a ir light next already have bobovr s3 pro headband yes battery pack is a must!!!
I'm so glad you're loving it! The S3 Pro headband is a great choice.
nice review! I subscribed Saiyan Princess! that is a based name 🔥
Thank you so much for the support!! 💖
thanks
The video content is great, but the picture quality is a bit lacking. I bought the Quest 3 two months ago and ordered the Sonicgrace S3 Duo battery head strap for it. The experience has been fantastic, and I still think it was a great deal.
no matter which headset, i always look like after a drunken party-night when i took the headset off...and i love that :D
It is a shame we need so many accessories for the Quest 3 but i also understand their need to make the headset an appealing cost. Once larger studios start making MR exclusive content I think we'll see a huge jump in quality!!

I love the quest 3 but prescrition lenses dont work for me i would love to zoom in my screen with no limitations. Just like xbox or computers do

@SaiyanPrincessXO Thanks for the reply! Yeh that sounds good then, my son likes batman so he will be stoked 😜
Totally agree 100%!

Well, lucky for you, there is an easy solution. Enter your date of birth.
Which blue light lenses do you use? Thank you
I got mine from HONSVR!
nice review
Thank you!!

I have the PSVR but can't stand having wires hanging off my head. I saw one of these VR Quest at Walmart. But I didn't see anything on what you would hook it up to.
The headset is completely standalone, there are no wires required!
@SaiyanPrincessXO Thank you for the reply. Now I kinda wanna go get one.
Imy headset audio went bad so I sent it off to meta I got a new 1 well refurb but looks like new
is The quest 3 compatible with ps5
Yes, you can sideload the PS5 remote play app and stream games to the headset!!
your saying the meta 3 and 3s has plenty of power then the meta quest 2 interesting im going to get one indeed for steam link and yugioh game that is coming out soon and batman
I think you're really going to enjoy it!!
