That was for me a really nice trip around the centre of Folkestone that i have not done for many years, and so it was a monumental surprise that you were doing it. A few things i noticed that had changed or completely gone, was the amusement facilities which were owned by Jimmy Godden if i recall, until he sold out in the nineties, if i am right in saying. Tudor perhaps you can enlighten me. Obviously i can see lots of changes have been made over the years. The biggest thing that does not seem to have changed is the Burstin Hotel!!.
Many changes and yet more to come but I wonder if the Grand Burstin will just keep on being the same - resisting all change that comes and goes around it!
@@drivewithcare_uk yeah it did. It was fun 🤩 it was weird when I was watching it yesterday at the same time as a passenger in the car coming home felt like a 4D experience! 😂
That was my thinking. I've watched a few videos that captured street scenes in the 70s and they were so interesting, especially seeing how high streets have changed!
@@drivewithcare_uk Exactly you know that’s what I was thinking too! I love stuff like that, I find it totally fascinating when I see driving videos ( M1 opening comes to mind ) or any towns or cities the way they were. A few years back on BBC4 they ran this series of 10 films called Britain on Film from the 1960s - totally nostalgic. Did you see it?

These videos are really good for the record ( read transcript ) to look back on how towns change.

@@drivewithcare_uk which videos have you watched from the 1970s ?
Can’t remember exactly, I just did a search. One on Scotland was quite interesting though 👍
Nice one Tudor! I’m watching but with the sound off, heading back from Wales so I’ll watch again when I get home 👍🏼
Well thanks for watching even in silent mode 😉
