35 Free Throws for KU..........11 shots for Tech? Tech makes 5 more baskets, but refereeing played a HUGE part in this, KU's 2nd home. I'm not one to bark on referees, but if one were honest, and looked at the bulk of the fouls called, versus the other team........it made the difference in the game. NOT saying that was the only reason, but if a team scores more buckets, yet still loses by 9, something is out of whack. KU is good, but it's like a home game. Hopefully the Big 12 will move out of Kansas City, where the Conference has ZERO teams, but handy to the perennial team that wins the Conference Championships over time. . . . .of course, officiating never is even-handed, at least in this game. TTech will get a high seed; let's see if KU can survive outside it's comfort zone.

Look, I'm not a fan of ref ball either but your team(?) Texas Tech is built around playing tough, physical "defense".
I put those in quotes because if you pay attention to what should and shouldn't be called fouls, that team's way of playing defense is bound to be called for many fouls. In fact, they should've been called for more fouls than they were.
Now KU should've been called for more than they were, also ... TTU isn't the only team who plays physical defense (not saying KU is as good at defense, but maybe a little better at playing without fouling, would that be so hard to believe?)
Furthermore, as the video shows, KU was a bit more likely to drive or pass into the paint, where many more fouls are (and should be) called.
Total fouls called were hardly one-sided, especially considering that IIRC at least 2 of TTU's fouls came in the last approx 1 minute when they were literally TRYING to foul to give them a chance to come back from behind.
Edit: oh and yeah if you foul a shooter, then that doesn't count as a field goal attempt, so because TTU fouled more shots (and they got more offensive rebounds too) they ended up with many more field goal attempts as well

Same bullshit that WVU throws around. When you play aggressive, fouling defense, you get called more on fouls. KU won the Natty and was the superior team in every sense. The teams that show up at the Big 12 Championship sustain it...and Iowa State shows as strong or stronger than KU. You all had your chance in Texas and Oklahoma and you didn't show up. Money talks. Unfortunate how many of you Tech fans have morphed into pure bitter over the last two years.
