In the first half. Hitting 7 3 point shots..21 points. Just from the 3 point shot.. simply..amazing. that was the game..ucon. played their best defensively no doubt..Villanova! Just better offensively. Not by much though .uconn..will be a very tough out..in the tournament..depends on their draw..what realky got me last night..was our center..how many friggin layups?? Did that guy miss??. Skme!! Shen he was practically..all by himself... n dammitt!.. we can't hit a foul shot..to save our lives. Here's your problem Dan Hurley. You chirp too much. Jay Wright, Coach K, Few, Boeheim, Izzo, and Jim Calhoun are better coaches than you. You play a tight line up of only 6 in the rotation which takes away from the other players. Get Hawkins and Akok in the game. You also don't out coach the other coach during the game. I have watched your games and the fault lies with you. You need to out coach the other coach during the game which I never see you do. You have Akok and Hawkins on the bench and for what? Put them in the game. UConn only plays to the level of their opponent, instead of playing at their level. I see this again and again. I saw a scared Sanogo out there who could not make point blank layups, free throws, while taking his teams rhythm out of the game. Surprisingly, on a bad night he still had 15 points. He's a great player, but someone needs to give him a gut check. Also, the poor free throw shooting was dismal (61%), while Nova was 87.5%. UConn's free throw shooting takes them out of the close games against the best opponents. The offense is too static. Too much window washing at the top. Need to run different kinds of sets. Jackson needs to develop his three point shot. UConn's defense is stellar, but the team plays like its coach - not championship caliber. This game was easily winnable had UConn executed plays. Hawkins can get you 10 points in a game. Akok can make plays. Hurley's fault. Work your players in. Need more creative offensive sets. Jackson has one of the ugliest shots in the history of basketball. Incredible athlete though. He's got to become more dynamic with his shot. You recruited Johnson, but he's on the bench? What's the point?
Jackson will go in the lottery his junior year. All he's gotta do is develop that shot. He's one of the best athletes to ever dawn a UConn jersey. Saw his tenacity all game. Hope these Huskies can have a Kembaesque or Napier March Radness and win a 6 game tournament. I bet 1000 on them to pay 76k at the MCasino. Hurley needs to run better sets and mix in players. Less yapping and out coach the other coach, what he gets paid to do.
