They're angry at the wife and jealous of them because they think the woman is just resting and enjoying at home ..Some men don't think that raising children and cooking and getting dressed at home is anything big. Better to understand each other and once in a while when they both are free they can dress up and enjoy. Hehe. Imagine the stress on the women taking care of 3 or 4 kids clean house..cook.. then dress up for husband..for when he returns home ..avoid the mental stress . there's no husband in the world who returns home from a stressful day and notice ur makeup and dress. Just give him a good tasty dinner and if u get time give him a head massage or a foot massage.. hed be happier and more grateful.dresses and make up and looking good hardly helps anyone at the end of a stressful day. Both Muslim men and women literally need training for these skills. All you are saying is totally manageable. I am saying this because I know there are probably women saying Sheikh you haven’tseen my kids and my in laws and blah blah blah. My answer to those women, work on your skills and bring change. If you don’t step up you will eventually burn out and will always be in depression. No one’s going to change for you, you need to prioritize yourself and your family’s happiness and make sure your spouse knows it too.

I agree 100%, however husbands have to help create this environment, as a lot of women tell me they’re overwhelmed, coz they’re not Just child rearing, but also cooking, cleaning, shopping, paying bills, doing school runs etc (interestingly it’s the errands outside the house that are the most draining). And the husband just goes to work & nothing else. So by the time he comes home she’s going exhausted. As he steps into the house she may have a sick child throwing up; another (older) child needing emotional support; a baby needing to breastfed. A woman would love to be able to look beautiful & wait for her husband, women love to be admired. But we live in unprecedented times with no support (previously women had support from her clan members with household chore or servants).
I suggest men help provide maids at home; they take on (or pay someone else) to do all errands outside the house; and he should rest for an hour after work, then take over with the kids so she can go & beautify herself & also wind down. Women stay at home all day with just the kids; she really wants to be just a woman/wife for her husband. She wants to be loved & pampered but she’s also not in the right head space just like you mentioned. She’s overwhelmed too. Husband/wife need to understand & support each other, espoused in these times were they have no support but each other.
Well said. But none of these men ever mentioned… Many of us women don’t want to work outside the home, but we have no choice. The standards are living are very high in many places. I want nothing more than to quit my job and have more children, but I can’t.

I think there is a different between asking the question on "what is your priority" and a women pretty much giving up a large chunk of her life to stay home when she would also like to do some other things in her life (which is normal). I don't know why a husband would be against her doing that, esp. if her mental health will being to be affected if she isn't allowed to do other things that give her joy or purpose (just like a man might find joy in other things outside of his family). I think he's underestimating just how exhausting it is to raise children. Even when not working. I have observed that part of the challange here in the US has to do with community support or lack there of. Allow me to elaborate, if a woman has small children say seven and under, she has to be on constant alert with them. They can't play outsiders unsupervised unless she has a backyard, they often are inconsistent sleepers so she doesn't get proper rest at night, she also has to keep the house in order (cooking, cleaning, laundry), any shopping or errands are dependent on her and must be done with the children in tow. Now add that shen might want to work out to mantain in reasonable health. By 5 PM she's burnt out. She's got little enthusiasm for adorning herself for her man.
I think we could benefit from community support such as having people who can watch our children several houses once or twice a week. This can be neighbors or family, just people we can trust. Masajids do have daycares but they are not always affordable. If you have money, placing your child 3 times a week for 3 - 4 hours each time can make a HUGE difference in your life. I think this contributes to people relying on public school as a daycare. Especially Tk and kindergarten. Once children get older, around seven and above, they become a lot easier. But when small it's really hard if you are all on your own. It takes a village

I want to ask something. Can't you do those chores and exercise with your kids? That would make a lot of things easier and help the kids take on responsibility and especially prepare daughters for marriage at some point.
Although the brother makes a good point, it is, as always one sided and biased. Many times in this life women MUST work. It isn't a choice or feminism, it is just the mere fact that bills must be paid. I'm not even talking about fancy things or vacations or luxury cars, just rent, food, clothes on the kids backs. Some men work very hard, even 2 or 3 jobs and still families struggle. Why not address the real world issues and not just what would be great in a perfect situation. Not everyone lives in this type of world.

Why don’t men understand this one very simple thing: in many cases women don’t want to work, they want to be housewives but we have no choice but to work!
So yes in an ideal world the man works and the woman stays home and takes care of the kids and dinner so the husband can come home after a long days work. But reality is women are out here hustling just as much as men… Not because we want to because we have to. And still most of the housework, cooking and child rearing is on women. So in the end women have double the work of men. So no, most of us don’t want to work.
