Regarding the second story, I would point out that "Stan personally guided me to that slip" does not strictly refute a clerical error in slip assignment. It shows that the OP did not make a mistake in which slip he was assigned to, but not that the slip assignment itself may have been erroneous. And the whole "leasing/purchasing vs renting" issue is separate from the slip assignments also.
