- This video I talk about the Ronin series of 1911's from Springfield Armory.
The Ronin 1911 comes in full size 5" and commander 4.25." It comes in .45, 10mm & 9mm.
The Ronin EMP (9mm only) comes in 3 or 4" barrel with only 1 difference capacity in the magazine (9 vs 10).
The Ronin 1911 is two tone blued steel slide and stainless steel frame.
The Ronin EMP is two tone blued steel slide and aluminum frame.
Recently got the 10mm and took it out to the range today and shot 100 rds. Tack driver when i do my part, no issues at all.
Very nice! I picked up an EMP 3 Ronin early last year and fell in love. The next week I came across an EMP 4 Ronin and had to bring it home because the slightly shallower grip (F to R) is a game changer to me. IMO it's the exact tweak the 1911 needed. I've always been a 1911 and CZ guy but Springfield really knocked it out of the park with the EMP line. Both are very accurate and both carry easily, more so than my beloved P01. As expected, the 4 is the smoother shooter. I had occasional issues with some of my reloads not dropping freely into the 4's chamber, a testament to Springfield's tight tolerances. No issues with factory new ammo so I sent the barrel off to have the chamber reamed ever so slightly which remedied all issues. The 3 did not need it. I would (and do) trust both 100%. Nothing but love.
Just brought home the RONIN in 45 ACP yesterday. Thanks for sharing.

Nice Review! I love the Ronin Line from Springfield. I own the 5" 45 and I just ordered the 3" 9mm. They look so good together. I own the Springfield SA-35 and I really suggest you buy one. It shoots so nicely.
Just wondering bro do you need to slam in the full mag for the 3”? My CA model I have to do it that way, and have you tried defense ammo yet? Just wondering

I'd pass on the prodigy-for the cost you can do a lot better quality wise. I would go with a CZ Shadow 2 over a prodigy for a competition gun in the same price range.
I absolutely love the look of the Ronin , I bought two. I'm a commander length guy , so I bought both 9mm and .45. The 9 gave me many problems. Wouldn't feed , wouldn't go back completely into battery. I bought a Wilson Combat 12lb spring , replacing the factory 9lb spring. It's way better now. The 45 has been trouble free ...
The magazine for the Ronin EMP are POS they say they hold 9 but only 8 will work all the time 9 will fail to feed
Interesting about the mag only holding 8. I had the similar issues with the 9mm emp failure to go into battery. Recoil spring upgraded off to the range 2m to test 🤞
Nice looking gun, although, I probably would put a silver cerakote on the slide and switch out the polymer trigger for a metal one.
plastic trigger is pretty lame
Hey I’m new to CCing and this is my first edc gun. I’ve had the officer 3” for a year now and I was wondering why I kept having issues. (I’ve been told 1911 have a learning curve but I love the look so give me some slack😂)
Problems I’ve encountered:
-failures to feed
-when I load a mag sometimes it doesn’t seat properly
-when I eject a full magazine sometimes the first round is forward halfway out of the magazine.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

I think I need to buy a better recoil spring. (For the FtoF Jams)
Loading only 8 (so they seat properly)
And buy Wilson combat mags
(When I financially recover from getting this gun 😅)

I had failure to feed issues with the magazine so bad yesterday it damaged the frame-going to make a vid on it tonight-emailed SA. Yes the mags stink & they say they fit 9 but 8 more like it.

Doesn’t the 3” come chambered in 45 as well
No that's the full size or commander size that comes in 9mm .45 or 10mm. EMP line is only 9mm.
Got the ronin emp 3" yesterday the dam thing wont chamber a round
The magazines say they fit 9. Put 8 in & try it.
