If they are not in your country yet, they will be soon. They just started selling cars in Mexico City in June 2016 and I've already seen at least 10 different Teslas where I live. Meanwhile spread the word so that more people do the right thing. I know it seems weird to do the right thing by purshcasing a product, but if more people buy more Teslas then all car manufacturers will go electric too and that will be beneficial for Earth and for humanity too.
Elon is doing what he is meant to do...why in the world would he be president..these comments kill me..we just need a president who believes in capitalism so he can continue this great work. #trump #maga
***** you damn fool. a copper roof referenced here lasted 600 years en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metal_roof Not to mention that the corrosion rate of copper is GROSSLY inferior to 316L stainless and titanium in most atmospheric conditions. 30 years my ass.
***** I wouldn't. It has 3x the corrosion rate of properly installed aluminum per unit volume (though there are other corrosion issues with most alloys of aluminum that are worse than copper that need to be considered). I'd go stainless or a heavy gauge, high elongation aluminum alloy. Copper is for rich people with money to blow on nostalgia.
I really admire this man. Somehow I didn't feel awkward watching this poor presentation with all his stutter. It rather shows me, that he is a normal human being - gosh I'd appear twice as nervous - yet he is such a inspirational source with his leading-edge sense for products that can make the world a better place. Cheers guys!
gnarlyandy1 I want to to invest but Tesla is sooooo over valued right now. If they continue to make little to no profits, their stock will plummet but become reasonably priced
Model 3 is out next year, which is going to completely transform the company. They just have to stay afloat till then. I'm fairly confident they'll be successful.
This is the stock i would buy if i were to invest for my grand kids future - it might be overvalued now, but why do i get the feeling to "buy buy buy now!" ?
I hope that in history class my grand children learn about the man who by himself colonized another planet, change gasoline for electricity and make every home use solar energy, reducing the co2 levels for the first time in years
What about places where it snows. Will there be some built in way to get rid of the snow (such as a lower amount of friction so the snow falls off itself when it builds up) or would the owner have to remove the snow manually?
>heating them up That is one of the most retarded things I've ever fucking read. Aside from the energy cost being prohibitive, what's going to happen when all that water freezes your fucking gutters solid? It's going to be all around the outsides of your house, ready to cause an accident.
Chendo Smit I don't need to do better because the idea doesn't need to be done, period. Heating up snow into water is going to cost more energy than the panels can create in a similar time frame. It is fucking asinine to do so.
Give them time. Once they build more Gigafactories, they'll be able to roll out these products much faster. Right now they don't have enough batteries.
There are a few things worth mentioning re their output. The tiles will cover the entire roof, in all directions. Currently, it makes little sense to put panels on any side other than south facing (northern hemisphere); the price/production doesn't work out. With these solar tiles costing the same or less than a conventional tile, you may as well use them on the north facing side; they will still produce some electricity which will in turn make up for their lesser efficiency and coverage per sqm on a typical south facing installation. Another point worth mentioning is that because these will be as cheap as a conventional roof, in theory, every new building will have them installed by default. Compared to paying for a roof and then solar panels as is currently the case, there will be countless more solar installations, again, more than making up for their lesser efficiency and lesser production per south facing installation. If they are indeed cheaper than conventional tiles, capitalism will see them used, regardless of their function.
Many say he is a bad public speaker and stuff. But some don't even know that he is a really busy man and sleeps very little, he runs two companies and just acquired SolarCity recently. It would make sense he would just wing the presentations while with thorough thought to his audience while presenting. I honestly don't think anyone can present his products better than himself considering he knows the products like in and out. Respect to what he is doing for the world and for his hands on leadership with things like his presentations.
Poor Musk, he needs some sleep. I have a stutter too and noticed that the less sleep I get the worse my stutter gets. Maybe just sleep 9-6 the night before a presentation
He doesn't always stutter. There is a brilliant presentation from 2003 at Stanford where he talks about his new space company. He doesn't stutter at all there -- he was actually a good speaker and he looked rested and healthy
The presentation isn't nearly as important as the content. You "expected more from him"!? He's literally ushering in the electric age, and you're disappointed because he's too busy engineering to take public speaking lessons.
The Powerwall 2 is $5,500.00 and you can contact Tesla for the Price on the Solar Panels for the Roofs...God Bless! BTW...Check out this link for more info. on the Solar Roof: techcrunch.com/2016/10/28/these-are-teslas-stunning-new-solar-roof-tiles-for-homes/
They are thinking of money, thinking of humanity is just a selling point. Solar roof panels have been done before, the powerwall is essentially a UPS system and Tesla's electric car wasn't the first either but they are like Apple where they are popularizing these technologies which is a good thing in my opinion at least.
mrtensed they are like Apple in the sense of how they both sell really expensive and kinda overpriced stuff. But Apple sells really bad and outdated products for a lot while Tesla sells way better products for a lot
mrtensed may be he is here to do business, not giving away free stuffs. Please don't compare it with apple ok. Apple is utter crap (unless its mac pro) selling people overpriced stuffs, luring by a scope to brag about how "expensive" they are. Tesla is efficient. Also trying to divert a whole mindfucked world to be nature friendly. Do you know germany already decided to run ONLY eco cars by 2030? Business is not wrong. They could have gone for bugatti ferrari shit. While They are doing something great.
What would be really great is if we could have some technical details, EG size and weight of tiles. So people that are building a house soon could engineer this into roofing plans. And most important when are they going to be available in Australia.
Great presentation. Great person. But it's odd that the graph for CO2 emissions such as shown at 2:24 has a glaring error. The blue dotted horizontal line is labelled to correspond to a 300 PPM concentration. The concentration in 1950 is labelled to be 315 PPM. Why then is the 315 PPM marker placed BELOW the blue line? The Y axis labelling places the 1950 CO2 concentration at about 280 PPM.
Hey Tesla I’ve got some ideas - Electric charging lanes on freeways/motorways ( so when you drive a Tesla you are charging while driving, it would also be really cool if it had a heating capability so when it snows it will be perfectly fine to drive on) - Tesla bullet trains ( trains in America suck, now is the time for someone as great as Tesla to take advantage) - Tesla freeway signs and freeway lights ( for better lighting while driving, what if you had a variable sign displaying road conditions ahead?) Lol just throwing some ideas out their for you guys, make the world a more efficient place please thanks!
did you watch the video??? Why would you buy a massive piece of land and put solar panels on it when you can just change all the conventional roofs to solar tiled roofs. This would come with no loss of space and over time a reduction in cost as you would have to replace a conventional roof eventually
Again he mentioned it would be comparable cost to a new conventional roof + electricity. I'm not saying this would be the best option for everyone, just that anyone in the market for a new roof, new builds or even extensions would be better off getting this.
GlitterBuzz I understand that but why would he spend money on a massive piece of land and the surrounding infrastructure when he could just subsidise the installation of the new tiles on peoples roofs? he could then reap the benefits of selling energy back to the grid and the added benefit that it would be self marketing as mentioned in the video. ***** haha very good point. I'm pretty sure its the second largest building by volume but the largest in the world by area. So technically its the biggest building in regards to the capacity for solar production, which of course it will be.
FREEDOM or LOCKED IN CONTRACT? Yes interesting Powerwall consumers get solar power on their roof but they still pay for electricity and will it be a from Tesla Energy company or will the consumer be able to choose what company they want power from that is the question!
Due to the size of each tile being so small, wouldn't you be able to cover more of your roof than conventional solar tiles could? So while the efficiency of the tile itself is lower by 2%, the efficiency of your roof to have solar property is much higher.
André Martins There's no such thing as "normal" solar panel efficiency since they currently range between 15% and 21% efficiency. If these tiles are 15%-2%=13% efficient the higher efficiency panels on the market (21%) might produce more energy than a whole Tesla roof. I like the idea of the Tesla roof I just wish Elon gave us some numbers to enable some comparisonof energy production between regular solar panels currently available and the solar roof.
aaron4820 I understand that you'd cover more area with the roof tiles but did you notice that the solar cells only cover part of the tile? Therefore the total area of energy production might not be bigger than solar panels like you assume. I agree that the tiles are a great idea and well designed I just wish Elon would have compared area and energy production with solar panels because to a lot of people that will be the deciding factor, not aesthetics.
Veganic ♾ Yeah it depends on the model it seems, the orange one is almost only half solar, with the bulged bit not doing anything. While I don't think any of these roof looked good due to me being from Europe and these houses look extremely American stylistically, I disagree that people would care more about a few percentage of efficiency over aesthetics, no matter how you feel about the look of these houses, the panels are definitely very discreet, if you didn't tell me, I wouldn't even have noticed they had solar panels, over traditional ones that makes your house look awful. I should imagine more details questions will be directed at him as product specs are released, but as of now, I agree with the overall direction of the product, make them look "good" and discreet, if the price is right, people'd be happy to get them over conventional ugly panels.
It seems to me that after every drizzle you'll need to clean and wipe your roof again and again so that they are still efficient, and thit might be problematic in most cases. Cities are quite polluted with dust, wind may also bring (and it does in fact) leaves and dirt of every kind onto the roof. And in the time of winter you'll need to get up onto your roof endlessly to clean it from snow... Don't know...
Questuons not answered. 1. How extensive the wiring do you need to have? every cell needs to be connected somehow. 2. Are cells connected an blocks or individually to the controller? 3. Is it possible to know in the controller which cells/blocks failed and need replacement?
So I'm assuming the solar tiles aren't over the entire roof but just like with regular panels #1 they'll only be where it's efficient, not on the North side, and #2 it will only be the total number of panels that is needed to cover up to 100% of the average usage during the previous 12 months. So I assume the rest of the roof will be matching tiles that look the same they just won't have solar cells in them.
What's the name of the song starting at 16:02? I type the lyrics on google but there's nothing that matches. It seems not to be on youtube, either. By the way, Elon's hard work is so inspiring!
@Kuzmich55 He didn't ask for the final track. Stop being annoying and posting this comment everywhere when people ask for the ending song. Yes we realize the final track is not found yet. That's why we're asking.
I love you figure "A" might be the line. "I love you in the garden" might be another line. It fits with "So Chaos finds order, and we no longer sinned." "Every inch (a sin that?) you possess". "Unless you try to try it harder, I fear it's gonna break".
It's actually "'Til the ocean's out of water, the air is out of wind, 'til chaos finds order, and we no longer sin. The less you try I try harder" I think she's saying "I love you through (or for) your ache." and the distorted voice is saying "hold me close." I've been searching everything for 3 days now and can't find anything. It's insane....
So if the power is out from your utility company, the battery can simultaneously operate the solar panels AND recharge if there is extra output from the panels?
I wonder how resistant the solar glass panels are. What if it hails or rains or there is a major thunderstorm? Will it damage the roof? Also if it snows in the winter, then it will cover your roof and RIP solar energy.
At least with steel roofing, once you get a sunny day, the snow slides off. I would think it would be similar, that the surface beneath would gain enough to get that layer of melt, then smooth enough where it just slides off.
t00nka tesla isn't quite the company yet for people not in the sunbelt year round, unfortunately the car chargers would be the most taxing thing for a solar powered house. Heating a car drastically drops it's range in an electric car, but I suppose as long as gas stays cheap and abundant for heading houses then solar will be viable for electric, with power supply hookups as a backup still. Where I live the city has vowed no natural gas in houses after 2020, and the gas to be 100% gone by 50/50 so the electrical problem is going to be much worse if we're all heating our houses with it. Still love tesla's moxie, I'm sure they'll get there
more. 40 years solar. moisture protection: the longevity of the underlayment used unless you live in hurricane, tornado, or massive hailstone prone areas, because shingle type roofs almost always rely heavily on underlyament to catch the wind driven rain which travels beneath it. significantly less than an anodized aluminum or anodized stainless standing seam roof, but clearly more than conventional roofs. Particularly less insulating than an aluminum standing seam roof raised over the substrate with airflow channels underneath, let alone the further insulation offered by clamping solar panels 6" above the roof (which, incidentally, allows for greater cooling and efficiency of the panels). In other words, if you're a purist environmentalist, this product is NOT for you.
I want to know how are all the individual panels wired. Running a bunch in series would make a large section useless when it's shaded. Is there more info about this? Would really like to know!
i would love to know the environmental impact caused by creation of batteries + solar panel against traditional coal/gas power. Also the lifespan of each and recycling capabilities....this just seems like robbing peter to pay paul in my opinion
bushki I was asking myself the same question, I'm pretty sure that Musk does not talk about the environmental issues caused by solar panels, because it's does have an impact, and even the companies that have been making solar panels for years don't have a ratio of 1 (which means that cost of making solar panels in raw energy is bigger than the energy it will provide you). It's a thing, it has to be said imo
Baptiste DL i couldnt agree more....and you raise a good point, do we get more energy out of solar than goes in? musk, tesla and solar city just seem to say what people want to hear, which isnt whats necessarily correct
Wow. You guys are idiots. Naysayers such as yourselves always want to state your opinions as fact, when they aren't. The continuing expense of supporting fossil fuel distribution is IMMENSE compared to the one-time production and installation of solar panels. The slightest bit of research proves your position entirely wrong. Asking rhetorical questions as if you know there is no valid answer, while claiming others aren't telling _'the whole truth'_ just shows how incredibly ignorant and naive YOU are -- not those that disagree with you.
redxsage yo buddy, sorry for hurting yourself. I'm studying energies at school, I've got some projects like installing solar panels in Africa next year. I'm pretty sure that I'm not that much an ignorant on this subject dude. I know what I say, I've heard it from the company who delivers us the solar panels, they've been doing this for more than 15 years and they still are not capable of developing a panel that will have less impact on the environment. It's a fact. I'm optimistic about the future of solar panels though, maybe one day we will be able to get enough efficiency that they will be actually good for the environment. But for now, sorry to tell you but the impact of producing, delivering, and installing it is not better for the environment than for say, nuclear energy.
Baptiste DL -- Waitasec... _'less impact'_ than *_WHAT_* exactly? You manufacture a solar panel out of plastic, copper wire, and silicon, maybe put it on an aluminum frame -- _ONCE_. Install it on someone's roof, or in a South facing field _(if you are in the Northern Hemisphere)_, and it sits there providing energy for the next 25 years. How in the [FLOCK] is that MORE of an environmental impact than burning tons of coal per day, or gallons of oil per day, or pounds and pounds of pressurized natural gas over the same time period to generate electricity? Are you one of those morons that thinks burning things has a _'negligible'_ impact on the environment?
i want to know what heppens in extreem invirmoents, ie heat, cold, storms, snow storms. what about 20-30 years from now, what happens when there is a short circert, is the whole roof on fire? or will the roof just colaps on the house making it burn faster.
i have a question on how they are connected? and what if one breaks do the power generation continues or do we have to replace it to get the whole roof online again?
q9r8s7t6u5v4w3x2y1z0 -- Apparently, I joined the _'All Electric Cult'_ when I was six, over forty-two years ago. That first slot car racing set I got for Christmas made a real deep impression. Back then, Elon was maybe two years old and lived 10,000 miles away.
This is great and I'd love to learn more details. For example, is there any point in putting a solar roof on the north facing side that gets almost no sun for us Canadians and others in the northern hemisphere. Would there be a cheaper look-alike non-solar roof tile for each solar roof style so that you don't put fancy solar cells in silly spots that only see shade? I love what tesla is doing and Elon you keep saying this is so practical why would you do anything else, but location on earth greatly affects the amount of solar energy one can harvest and I'm sure there will be places where the numbers just don't add up. I hope you can address these questions for us who are eager to consider a Tesla powered home. thank you
Nothing wrong with liking gas powered cars. Especially if they are for fun. Its the A-to-B commuters we need to convert to electric while keeping the classic, (some) racing and hobby cars running their traditional engines. I would not turn down an electric crate motor for a classic car, but it isn't really fun then with no soundtrack. Like a mute movie. Balance is important. For commuters, busses, trains and trucks, where it matters for the environment, bring on the electric motors. Then replace coal/oil with molten salt nuclear and later fusion. Then finally replace the bunker fuel ships with either electric or hybrid powertrains although some case could be made for fusion in a 100 yrs time as there are no dangerous materials to steal from a fusion reactor for bomb making iirc.
Great Concept! It just takes common sense to do something great, Tesla's SolarCity just took the US Cellular service model and applied it to Solar Energy! They should come to India & launch the same concept for home owners here. Quick fact, the average solar irradiance received in India is 4.5-6KWh/m square/day! Hope they come to India soon! Godspeed SolarCity & Tesla! keep up the good work you guys are doing to save our Earth! Coz "There's no Planet B."
please save my day and give me the name of the song at the end :( and please save my life and give me enough money for that roof, a tesla, and powerwall love you all, have a great day!

He isn't healthy? Just because he has a belly, doesn't mean he isn't healthy
TinyRodent alright, probably i should have said "keep being healthy"?
Don't worry Elon's just bulking
It is a tradeoff, cigs and doughnuts, for years of future living.
He is dabbling with his health and I am pretty angry and concerned.
Do anyone notice the tesla toy car?

If they are not in your country yet, they will be soon. They just started selling cars in Mexico City in June 2016 and I've already seen at least 10 different Teslas where I live. Meanwhile spread the word so that more people do the right thing. I know it seems weird to do the right thing by purshcasing a product, but if more people buy more Teslas then all car manufacturers will go electric too and that will be beneficial for Earth and for humanity too.

Musk for President 2020. He may not be the best public speaker - but maybe we need a tad less speaking in politics. More action. Green action.
If Elon Musk and Warren Buffett ran for president, I would vote for them regardless of which ticket they ran under.
Elon is doing what he is meant to do...why in the world would he be president..these comments kill me..we just need a president who believes in capitalism so he can continue this great work. #trump #maga

I wouldn't.
That's the kind of future we need! No more dirty coal and oil. Electric solar power all the way!

I really admire this man. Somehow I didn't feel awkward watching this poor presentation with all his stutter. It rather shows me, that he is a normal human being - gosh I'd appear twice as nervous - yet he is such a inspirational source with his leading-edge sense for products that can make the world a better place. Cheers guys!
my stock went up :)
gnarlyandy1 I want to to invest but Tesla is sooooo over valued right now. If they continue to make little to no profits, their stock will plummet but become reasonably priced
Model 3 is out next year, which is going to completely transform the company. They just have to stay afloat till then. I'm fairly confident they'll be successful.
No one can tell how over/under valued a company is
Is that all that went up...
This is the stock i would buy if i were to invest for my grand kids future - it might be overvalued now, but why do i get the feeling to "buy buy buy now!" ?
What is the song/artist playing at the end? Shazam can't figure it out.

What about places where it snows. Will there be some built in way to get rid of the snow (such as a lower amount of friction so the snow falls off itself when it builds up) or would the owner have to remove the snow manually?

That is one of the most retarded things I've ever fucking read. Aside from the energy cost being prohibitive, what's going to happen when all that water freezes your fucking gutters solid? It's going to be all around the outsides of your house, ready to cause an accident.
TheTundraTerror then please, become Elon and do it better :)
Chendo Smit
I don't need to do better because the idea doesn't need to be done, period. Heating up snow into water is going to cost more energy than the panels can create in a similar time frame. It is fucking asinine to do so.

We definitely need Solar Roof in india. Tesla cars might not be affordable in India, and we don't have Tesla Superchargers as well.
yet :)
Does anybody know the name of the song right at the end? (I know it's Darude - Sandstorm, but I mean the unofficial name).
That guy who screamed Save us Elon @2:40 is a Savage!
Its been over 5 years, when do we get to see a working prototype..?
about the same time we get the Tesla Semi truck
We have real ones installed on homes. But unfortunately only the ugly modern ones and not the Tuscan tiles or faux asphalt shingles 😢
Poor Musk, he needs some sleep. I have a stutter too and noticed that the less sleep I get the worse my stutter gets. Maybe just sleep 9-6 the night before a presentation
That's his way doing presentation. He doesn't prepare scripts, he knows his things and improvises on the spot.
He always talks like that.
English is not his first language, he is south african.

It's 2% less efficient. That's marginal, I don't get why he didn't mention it.
2% less than what?! Common solar panel efficiency ranges from 15% to 21%.
Veganic ♾
2% less than normal solar panels obviously.
this is why I love tesla. 😘😘
the one company thinking of humanity more than money

What's the song at the end?
Great presentation. Great person. But it's odd that the graph for CO2 emissions such as shown at 2:24 has a glaring error.
The blue dotted horizontal line is labelled to correspond to a 300 PPM concentration. The concentration in 1950 is labelled to be 315 PPM. Why then is the 315 PPM marker placed BELOW the blue line? The Y axis labelling places the 1950 CO2 concentration at about 280 PPM.
Hey Tesla I’ve got some ideas
- Electric charging lanes on freeways/motorways ( so when you drive a Tesla you are charging while driving, it would also be really cool if it had a heating capability so when it snows it will be perfectly fine to drive on)
- Tesla bullet trains ( trains in America suck, now is the time for someone as great as Tesla to take advantage)
- Tesla freeway signs and freeway lights ( for better lighting while driving, what if you had a variable sign displaying road conditions ahead?)
Lol just throwing some ideas out their for you guys, make the world a more efficient place please thanks!
Why doesnt Elon buy a massive peice of land and power an enitre city using solar only?
did you watch the video??? Why would you buy a massive piece of land and put solar panels on it when you can just change all the conventional roofs to solar tiled roofs. This would come with no loss of space and over time a reduction in cost as you would have to replace a conventional roof eventually
Murray Mackenzie people would rather pay $XX a month for electricty than paying a one time $XX,XXX
and this would only work for houses, people with appartments arent so lucky.
So technically its the biggest building in regards to the capacity for solar production, which of course it will be.
guys what is that song at the end
As usual Elon delivers another great product; it'll remain to be seen if society has the wisdom to adopt it quickly to reduce environmental damage.
FREEDOM or LOCKED IN CONTRACT? Yes interesting Powerwall consumers get solar power on their roof but they still pay for electricity and will it be a from Tesla Energy company or will the consumer be able to choose what company they want power from that is the question!
@@derekthompson9270 From what i've researched, it seems to be freedom. Also, you don't have to be on the grid but being on the grid is reccomended.
Update... clay color? Gone🙄
Oh yeah? We got that car sewer yet? What about this?
Track id please in the end of this video! I can’t shazam it already 5 years!!!
Hoping to have one of these installed sometime in the near future. What a grand idea.
Lovely concept but no mention fo the solar tiles efficiency and how they compare with regular solar panels regarding energy production per area.
Veganic ♾ 98% efficiency of normal panels. Would you not trade the 2% loss for the looks given the price?
Due to the size of each tile being so small, wouldn't you be able to cover more of your roof than conventional solar tiles could? So while the efficiency of the tile itself is lower by 2%, the efficiency of your roof to have solar property is much higher.
André Martins There's no such thing as "normal" solar panel efficiency since they currently range between 15% and 21% efficiency. If these tiles are 15%-2%=13% efficient the higher efficiency panels on the market (21%) might produce more energy than a whole Tesla roof. I like the idea of the Tesla roof I just wish Elon gave us some numbers to enable some comparisonof energy production between regular solar panels currently available and the solar roof.
aaron4820
I understand that you'd cover more area with the roof tiles but did you notice that the solar cells only cover part of the tile?
I should imagine more details questions will be directed at him as product specs are released, but as of now, I agree with the overall direction of the product, make them look "good" and discreet, if the price is right, people'd be happy to get them over conventional ugly panels.
what is the name of the song?
Dmytro Shumygai
holy shit. this guy is changing our lives right before our eyes. wowzerybobters
3. Is it possible to know in the controller which cells/blocks failed and need replacement?
nice products, beautiful ending event with nice song, by the way which song is this?
song at the end of the movie?
Is it just me or does Elon look a bit... chunkier than before?
he is too busy saving the world
You don't need to exercise to maintain a healthy weight, I'm not criticising Elon Musk at all though, just stating facts.
I image when you're a billionaire you can eat pretty good. lol
Looks like he is making muscle gains to me.
0ooTheMAXXoo0 yea it looks more like muscle
So I'm assuming the solar tiles aren't over the entire roof but just like with regular panels #1 they'll only be where it's efficient, not on the North side, and #2 it will only be the total number of panels that is needed to cover up to 100% of the average usage during the previous 12 months. So I assume the rest of the roof will be matching tiles that look the same they just won't have solar cells in them.
Very innovative! Really enjoyed the presentation and am so impressed with the advancement in technology! Great job Mr. Musk!

The less you try I try harder"
I think she's saying "I love you through (or for) your ache." and the distorted voice is saying "hold me close." I've been searching everything for 3 days now and can't find anything.
I think this is genuis ! Just a question : There is snow 5 months per year on my roof. What do i do ? 😋
t00nka version 2.0 will have very small heating elements that just keeps the tiles at 33-40 F or just enough to keep the snow from sticking.
And it's glass, especially with the smooth glass tiles the snow could probably slide off pretty well
Believe me snow will not simply slide off a glass surface lol.
Still love tesla's moxie, I'm sure they'll get there
game changer. Tesla did it again.
Elon- How much does it cost compared to a conventional roof? How long does it last? How does it insulate?
less, longer, better, did't you watch the video?
I assume he wanted some numbers and not just words.
Is there an application of the solar roof that will work for multifamily 4 unit that shares a single roof?
I want to know how are all the individual panels wired. Running a bunch in series would make a large section useless when it's shaded. Is there more info about this? Would really like to know!
That Model 3 teasing tho..
i would love to know the environmental impact caused by creation of batteries + solar panel against traditional coal/gas power.
This guy certainly knows what he's doing!!
What's the song at the end? I'm hearing "I love you Figure A"...
i'd like to to enter the cult. where can i apply ?
You need to own shares to be a True Believer.
q9r8s7t6u5v4w3x2y1z0 -- Apparently, I joined the _'All Electric Cult'_ when I was six, over forty-two years ago. That first slot car racing set I got for Christmas made a real deep impression. Back then, Elon was maybe two years old and lived 10,000 miles away.
I am amazed!! I hope every roof tile company looks into this.
I hope you can address these questions for us who are eager to consider a Tesla powered home.
thank you
dgrubbee Hope tesla (energy) has thought that.
i bet that one dislike is a petrohead

Lmaol
Lord Megatron I'm a petrol head and think this is wonderful
Ever heard of this thing that exists called music? Ya, well thats what you can listen to if its too quiet for you.
2:38 "Save us Elon!"- I love that guy
we need Elon to live long.... please release your products in India... we definitely need solar roofs...
What is the closing song?
Great Concept! It just takes common sense to do something great, Tesla's SolarCity just took the US Cellular service model and applied it to Solar Energy! They should come to India & launch the same concept for home owners here. Quick fact, the average solar irradiance received in India is 4.5-6KWh/m square/day!
Hope they come to India soon! Godspeed SolarCity & Tesla! keep up the good work you guys are doing to save our Earth! Coz "There's no Planet B."
I looooove clean energy you fricken go Mr. Musk!!!
please save my day and give me the name of the song at the end :(
and please save my life and give me enough money for that roof, a tesla, and powerwall

"Help us Elon Musk, you are our only hope"

Just asking... the internal battery of a tesla car could be used like a powerwall? to cut some expenses?
Tesla should make a helicopter, plane, jet, and motorcycles
