  • After watching over a thousand hours of UA-cam tutorials, and spending so much time on r/bboy, I finally threw my first airflare!
Only thing I own is the art at the beginning, which was made by me, and my clips.

Hey guys! I never expected this video to get so many views so here's a few updates:
-Due to the pandemic they took away my go to practice area at my gym so progress has been very slow.
-I've been practicing outside whenever the weather has been warm enough to do so (thanks to Kansas weather changing all the damn time, I haven't gotten much practice in either)
-Despite all of this I am STILL keeping at it! I do feel like I've made progress but im still not where I want to be.
-I will be making another video soon as soon as it feels like I've made more progress.
    Thanks again for watching!

Go on my son. Keep going. One thing I will say is me mindful of where your head is...if you let your head go too far away from your arm before you throw your body will tend to come down towards the floor. If you look at most breakers with the best airflare control they almost have their head tucked into their armpit before throwing over. On the release they almost tuck their chin into their chest.
The head is one of the most under appreciated parts of the body when learning new moves. But where the head goes the body tends to follow. Good luck.

Proud of you for keeping it up and striving to move forward despite having 4 years of no "success"...That first one you made all of the way around and ended in flare I literally jumped up with a "Hell yeah"... Makes me happy to see others progress...Keep it up boss

All the powermoves were easy for me. When I had been breaking for 2 years I already could do more than 10 flares, halos, headspins, so clean mills. Now I'm breaking for 4 years and my level is still the same. 2 years I was just doing the airflare. I have never done 1 airflare. I already want to give up. Great work, bro!

It remind me back in day some good memory , this when the desire is more than all the fails , we can see this is not a fake progress like we can see in others video

joint the club.. iv been training elbow airflare for about 8 years and still cant catch one properly. i feel your pain. from what i see on your atempts, you have a few problems.
your right leg, you need to kick it up and not swing it down when you are in the air. also on your last atempt your left leg is not swinging up and its to infront when you jump. your whole body should be as one when you are in the air..like a star shape. but if you pause, your left leg is over rotating when you are in the air going for the catch so your legs are already infront and droping down. last thing is you jump to early. you need to wait longer and try to really lean of that thrrowing arm. i have the same problem with the over rotated legs. I would advice you fix that asap as its very hard to correct once your muscel memory is locked in doing it..
I hope you get your airflare one day though. keep training.

I think the problem with the airflare is that it is very unintuitive and unnatural movement so the body resists the rotation. because of that, part of learning the airflare is also overcoming the fear of the upside down rotation.

In January 2021 I made a comment that I was practicing airflare in this video. Now a year has passed and I got 30 airflares... at that time I only got 2🙂. Greetings 👋

That’s pretty sick you got this far in a year.the first time I ever hit airflare I just did a really high flare and tried to throw my arms over going into the second flare, helped me get over tapping my foot and made it combo ready.never progressed past one airflare to mill or flare though.good luck
