I’m more of his slower stuff fan, stuff that really lets his voice shine. “Crying” is one of those, so is “Only the Lonely.” Those probably the top two you’ll hear requested next. His version of “Blue Bayou” is great too. “Working for the Man” is a good faster one.

He abandoned his trademark higher and higher and higher falsetto endings on "It's Over" and remained in a natural voice throughout the ENTIRE song which indeed does seem "impossible" in the key in which he sings it. Just to clarify, any video from his "Black and White Night" concert will be an amazing experience. It was a televised concert that was filmed LIVE in September 1987, and aired on Cinemax in January 1988. Roy passed away in December of 1988.
His band included many of Elvis Presley's Band, and featured back up singers K.D. Lang, Bonnie Raitt, and Jennifer Warnes. On top of that, Bruce Springsteen, Elvis Costello, Jackson Browne, Tom Waits, and others also joined him on stage that night.
It was all filmed in black and white. Pay attention to the audience as well. Many famous faces were in the crowd, including: David Lynch, Billy Idol, Patrick Swayze, and Kris Kristofferson, among others.
Also, The morning after it was filmed, an earthquake caused damage to the venue the concert had been filmed in just hours before, and all the footage of the concert was nearly lost, but apparently, fate stepped in, and the tapes miraculously took no damage, despite chandeliers and other debris falling directly on top of them, preserving the night for us to continue to enjoy.
There is also a version of it called "Black and White Night 30", which is the remastered, 30 year anniversary edition, and adds a few more songs that were played that night, but not originally released.
