Diesel is 5k more expensive than the petrol. So if you are not doing a lot of miles the petrol engine is a better buy. You really need to do 40-50k miles per year to make it worthwhile.
I personally think that in blue it looks the worst. Grey is meh... Somehow other colors make the details pop out more. I like the white, red, green and orange. Black is also very nice.
Can’t believe that they still require you to go into the touchscreen to adjust the climate control temperature. Huge mistake. My wife sold her 2021 Octavia after just 3-4 weeks because of how unusable and quite honestly dangerous that is. The new Superb and Kodiaq have gone back to physical controls for temperature.
Depends. In a very busy town, maybe 10l. My average in a town with 300k people, my average is around 8. For the highway, 3 people inside, 130-140km/h, around 7, depending on topography. I'm driving a manual version, the old one, without being hybrid. If you get a hybrid with automatic transmission you should have the same consumption. And yes, at around 20k km you need to put around 1l of oil. I would say that is the case because now the intervals for changing the oil is 30k km for this engine. If you do the changing at 20k and not 30k as they recommend, you'll be more than fine I think. Overall is a great car for a family. Very comfortable, surprisingly stable on the road, pretty quiet inside, very good sound system in my opinion
Did you try out the adaptive cruise more ? On my late 2019 model it doesnt really notice cars that are already stationary, like someone stopped at lights. If the car infront moves while in sensor range, its fine (in fact i use this CONSTANTLY, like 95% of the time). Additionally, does it let you stay stopped while the system is active ? In mine its annoyingly starts making a sound and force you to break. Or is that some regulation thing, not sure. The seats do look great.
@@autogefuehl Yes, it works in jam if the sensors sees the car moving at some stage. But if you close in a car that has been sitting in red light, it doesnt really notice it properly. You could easily test it with a parked car.
I have Octavia 4 (just before the facelift) with 1.5 TSI, 110KW (150 horse powers), manuals, since 1 month. For the first 1000km I can say it gives 5,3-5,7/100km for outside of the city, in a city driving it is 7-8/100km depends on the traffic.
The inside door handles are still the cheapest plastic material possible..i just can’t believe that they have been using them for so long…and u touch that part every time ..just horrible
Isn't this perhaps too much car for the C-segment? I realize the also previous Octavia was a bit of a departure from its initial meaning, but still... edit
Finaly no Chrome. Brushed metal ftw! Waited 13 Months for my Octavia, and i can not stand the Chrome Bling. My next Car will again be Skoda Oktavia, but hopefully Electric.
I don't know why, maybe it's just me, but I've never liked the Octavia's facelift. The design of the facelift always seems to be a downgrade. The back I would say it looks ok on the facelift, but that front bumper...I don't know...
I was hoping they'd have increased the baggage space, but it's the same as the outgoing model at 1700 liters? The Passat, the next model up on the VW side, became a longer and more spacious car.
A vw polo starts at £20.900 car pricing has gone up due to the cost of making them compliment with euro 6/7 and the amount of money they have to invest into making the ev version that will replace these cars 😢 it’s annoying I hope car prices calm down but I don’t think they will
Obviously, it's merely a face-lift. Which usually just means some minor refresh of light units, maybe the radiator grill, maybe the available engines, or so. Not a redesign of the entire car.
This is the car that most of the people need... but most will buy SUV´s!!!
On top of that, most people need just (Octavia) Sedan, not really the Estate which is close enough to an SUV.

Really nice looking car 👍 you wouldn't happen to know when (or if) the new facelifted RS3 will be available to buy? I'm holding off as I see Audi have just facelifted the S3. love your channel 👍
Thanks 🙏 in a couple of weeks I think
@@autogefuehl thanks for that 👍🍻
Diesel is 5k more expensive than the petrol. So if you are not doing a lot of miles the petrol engine is a better buy. You really need to do 40-50k miles per year to make it worthwhile.
The 1.5 is super efficient. In the long run it is probably cheaper than diesel as well because of lower cost repair.
I don't know to be such difference, but after 2 years driving the 1,5/150cp, I would never go to diesel, at least for a similar car.
@@alxdava2004 maybe diesel is good for big cars

I personally think that in blue it looks the worst. Grey is meh... Somehow other colors make the details pop out more. I like the white, red, green and orange. Black is also very nice.
The blue is amazing but I have to admit, the orange is not far behind.
Is it enough space in trunk for mid sized dog like labrador retriver in sedan(liftback) version?
Enough for 2. I took my 2 had, both almost 40kg without problems
Are you going to test the new Skoda Enyaq 85 (perhaps the Coupé) as well? .. Or did I just miss that one 🤷♂️😅
Does the new Škoda Octavia have ventilated seats? That's one feature that makes a car truly comfortable in the summer!
How you survived to this day without that feature?
Can’t believe that they still require you to go into the touchscreen to adjust the climate control temperature. Huge mistake. My wife sold her 2021 Octavia after just 3-4 weeks because of how unusable and quite honestly dangerous that is. The new Superb and Kodiaq have gone back to physical controls for temperature.
How much does the 1.5 consume in the city?
Do you mean how much oil for each 1k km...?
@@gregmamok562 petrol
@@alxdava2004 pretty good

scout version will be avail?
Did you try out the adaptive cruise more ? On my late 2019 model it doesnt really notice cars that are already stationary, like someone stopped at lights. If the car infront moves while in sensor range, its fine (in fact i use this CONSTANTLY, like 95% of the time). Additionally, does it let you stay stopped while the system is active ? In mine its annoyingly starts making a sound and force you to break. Or is that some regulation thing, not sure.
The seats do look great.
Interesting, in traffic jam it did work
@@autogefuehl Yes, it works in jam if the sensors sees the car moving at some stage. But if you close in a car that has been sitting in red light, it doesnt really notice it properly. You could easily test it with a parked car.
@@PeTe_FIN Probably only solution is to make new calibration on sensor.
What a beauty!!!!!!

can you disable the speed alert sound permanently?
Nope. Is a new regulation from EU mf..s to adapt to a future 15 minutes cities
Octavia Combi 2.0 TDI 150 PS Sportline - rear suspension is multilink?
As far as I know, with the Golf it is 150 hp including for multilink and for Skoda it is _more_ than 150 hp for multilink. I can re-check though
I re-checked, only Octavia RS and the 4x4 version have multilink, ALL others torsion beam!
@@autogefuehl thank you.
And Cupra Leon 2.0 TDI DSG? Multilink?
Did I understand correct that all versions 150bhp and less have a beam strut suspension?
It's been like that for the last 3 gens.

Will the 1.5tsi 114bhp be economical in manual?
I have Octavia 4 (just before the facelift) with 1.5 TSI, 110KW (150 horse powers), manuals, since 1 month. For the first 1000km I can say it gives 5,3-5,7/100km for outside of the city, in a city driving it is 7-8/100km depends on the traffic.
@@plamenstefanov5462 in mpg terms what does that work out too? So would the 114bhp be better economically
@@nurankhan4113 according to google around 43 mpg for outside the city.
The "outgoing" model? There's not really an outgoing "model". Just a face-lift of the 4th generation. So the size and layout won't change
@@KP-rm8eg thanks, makes sense. It was already about as big as it could be for its size. A Golf.
The Passat is in a different class of car the Octavia is so big that people forget it competes with the golf, focus and Astra
Škoda give us information about possible new Karoq already!
Way too expensive for what you get. Should have started at 23k like before.
A vw polo starts at £20.900 car pricing has gone up due to the cost of making them compliment with euro 6/7 and the amount of money they have to invest into making the ev version that will replace these cars 😢 it’s annoying I hope car prices calm down but I don’t think they will
Is just a facelift, not a new car. Besides headlights, nothing truly new inside.
Great vehicle
I want a diesel version but dont want to be banned in the cities in the not so distant future….
I’m glad you didn’t put Leah in the trunk to test the space 😅😂
She is in the engine, there was some space there.
😄
All of this model without sunroof?

The best of VW group.
Well over 20.000 in UK. Absolutely ridiculous
Exterior pretty similar to current version
Obviously, it's merely a face-lift. Which usually just means some minor refresh of light units, maybe the radiator grill, maybe the available engines, or so. Not a redesign of the entire car.
