Gavin: “yeah, I’m missing a few pieces off of the coolest rocket base of all time, so I’m gonna scrap this review.” Also Gavin: “It’s a big rocket with a little man, what else do you need?”
Those creaks reminded me of when I tried to transform power master Optimus prime not knowing what a power master was. I’m still astonished I didn’t break it
Y’know how there was that video going round on twitter of someone transforming BW Neo Randy, the boar Maximal who’s got really bad gold plastic syndrome? And everyone was freaking out cause they thought it would break? I finally understand that “oh god it’s going to disintegrate” fear after watching you transform the rocket base
@@TRDQ I still remember the Friday morning it arrived. Walking up the hill to school and looking back to see the postman carrying a large parcel into my house. I used to go home for lunch so I tore into it when I got there. Sadly it was the only competition not to have the winners' names published in the comic but I'm sure i still have the accompanying letter somewhere.
i love micromaster bases, probably my second favourite play pattern next to headmasters, tiny cities and tiny vehicles are a delight, just wish they would give them a bit more room to play around in like they did in this set
I need to ask my dad if he still has my one of these in storage. Left it up his house when I was a teen and haven't seen it since. Still got Countdown himself though. One of the best playset things I ever had as a kid. I thought maybe that new Sky Lynx's rocket base form would do the job as a modern replacement but it really doesn't. Plus I can never get the shuttle to stay in place on that one. Really hope that someday we get some Micromaster reissues with this included. Something about those original mini guys that always felt better to me. Less wobbly and stuff.
This video reaffirmed that the Rocket Base is one of my holy grails of collecting in this franchise. I just hope Takara rereleases it or I get lucky finding someone selling it. Excellent video as always Gavin!
Damn seeing these playsets that came out since G1 makes me really wish earthrise had more in terms of modulators. We only got 2 and like 2 repaints each. And if you want to connect them into a city you'll have to buy something comanderclass or higher. They should've released a 3rd one. Like with the first wave.
Gavin, I sent an email to AskRepugnus, but I dunno if it got through or if it was like, moved to spam or something. I know you're taking your time with it, and that's fine, I just wanna know, if I want to send more, (this time I want to send some art) should I? Do you/Repugnus usually reply to those emails (like to say "I received it, thanks")?
@@TRDQ I sent it 2-3 weeks ago, so I dunno, should I try again from a different mail provider? Maybe it goes in spam automatically if it's from yahoo or something
Awesome toy. I really wish Hasbro used micromasters in some stories for WFC. Lots of great gimmicks and characters have stories left untold. Like we have an these bases and they are never used in cartoons, or very rarely so.
Somehow you have discovered the opposite of ASMR. opening that up made my soul hurt...
Pepsi Prime review when??
TOMORROW
Those creaks and cracks took a couple years off my life

That big old collection of bases all ramped together and stuff has me grinning like an idiot.
The fact that it appeared in Victory has made me very tempted to try and find one.
Good lord opening it up makes one hell of a sound! Thats a toy for the "Don't play with after 10pm" list.
Amazing how little hasbro changed with the WFC one

That setup near the end with all those Micromaster bases was AWESOME.
More Micromaster reviews please!
Pretty cool; I wonder if anyone has done a fan mode for a mobile transport base for the Botropolis Rescue Mission set.
Nice review. I won Countdown in the Marvel UK competition from issue 250 as a child. I still have it complete.
Ooooft lucky!

All the micromasters playsets together look amazing. My fave was always skyhopper. As grandad would say, "Ah, those were the days!"
0:53 are you sure that’s not a sombrero the car is wearing?
Couldn’t have asked for a better birthday present, thank you for (coincidentally) putting this out today!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
@@TRDQ Thank you!

We recently had Micromasters up the wazoo, carried their own line even. Bad thing they didnt reissued the playsets, they would fit neatly
I've binge watched all your videos - great stuff! 😀

1:30 this is reverse ASMR.
2:48 Dreamed I was an Eskimo,
The frozen winds began to blow...
Waking up to another TRDQ makes you know it’s a good day!
I wish Hasbro remade most of these
Could you review Snarler? He's my favourite Pretender.
A true Irish transformer review
I HAVE HIM. It’s missing almost all of his pieces and I have never been able to figure out what thing it was from/what it was. Now I finally know!
I wonder if you can get some 3D print replacements for countdown’s missing parts...
Oh how you make me need the Galactic Odyssey Botropolis set
Yessssss

He’s back with omega supreme!
I'd love to have a tot full of TFs like that and even if things are missing things thats all good.
Man it's so beautiful

You eat yellow snow?
I don’t think WD40 would destroy the plastic but why take chances
those joints need vinegar or something
I want this toy so bad.
Somebody make one of those stupid videos: Gavin Transforming Countdown For 10 Hours.
