Good job on the build. If it's for you and your wife it would be perfect. If you were to sell perhaps consider these suggestions. I would have done a mini split system for the heating and cooling, with all the electric high output, the trailer would need panels and a solar set up to eliminate the the need to shore hookups & and tankless hot water heater. I would also just do the outdoor water intake and seal the doors in the back of the trailer to prevent thefts.

what is a Reefer box rated for insulation wise? I want to build one up here in Canada but I want to know if I need to add insulation or if the insulation in one is sufficient
@Mike Annetts You need to leverage the widely available propane furnaces (40,000 BTU from a Very Small component), hot water heaters (dual mode, gas & electric), power fittings (you Really can't have an electrical cable poking through the wall), etc. You also need drawers & cabinets that won't open when you're rolling, firmly secured fridges & appliances, etc. Spend some quality time with a good (Monaco) motor home before your next build. That thing would be a Disaster if moved after it was inhabited.
In a couple of days heading back east to convert our reefer into a "cottage". Was hoping you would have videos on the build process - especially cutting in the windows. Hi. Diesel used to be in the tank. I don't know if yiu would ever get rid of the smell or not. Also in Canada it would need to be heated to avoid freezing. Flooring. Windows and doors, wood. Also electrical is expensive.
One more comment if I may have read the comments it seems like most of them would do it this way or that way I'm not much of a carpenter, or electrician from what I see I think you did a fantastic job thank you once again for the video and suggestions.
Hell there's enough room to put a forklift battery Bank underneath the trailer and you could easily get probably 2000 w of solar panels on the roof ....

@@larryferd1510 Definitely something you would ideally park on your own or a friend's land. If you worked a job where you moved every year or so (restricted due to moving costs) and you could find trailer/RV parks which would allow this tiny home then it could be quite nice. You'd have your own space which could probably handle many moves without issue and it is very well insulated. One thing I'd want is mini-split for heating and cooling.
Now trailers are so hard to come by you'd have to buy a new one for 100k and wait a year to get it. Before you could find a 15 year old trailer for 15-25k
My bet a CDL would be needed since it is not a manufactured mobile home. The truck part to pull it around would be over a 100,000.00 bucks and drink a lot of fuel. And your home would never go up in value. Plus very high insurance rates. By the time all is said and done you could own a 200,000.00 home with property.
First you would de title the trailer and truck from a class 8 over the road. I currently have a HDT RV and fifth wheel toyhauler. Truck is titled in South Dakota as a RV/motor home. Non CDL requirements. Trailer is a standard toy hauler. Title as RV use. Both are considered RV. Buy the way the truck is a 2013 Volvo 760. Costs $24k. @@larryferd1510 well i does look sturdy enough for a person who never wants to move it. as for 5th wheels, it depends on how much you tow it and how much physical torque twist n trauma you put them through that determines their sturdiness usually...
@@knutblaise9437 Hello always open to ideas. what is a mini-split?
@@knutblaise9437 good idea
How much would one of these trailers cost?
Now trailers are so hard to come by you'd have to buy a new one for 100k and wait a year to get it. Before you could find a 15 year old trailer for 15-25k
Sold for 48000
What was the asking price if i may ask? Ur trailer rocks man!
I sold that one for 48,000.oo Canadian Thanks
with he seams covered up with either painted or stained wood strips (looks very nice).
Nice build but didn’t see a closet. Lots of cabinets, no closet.
EXACTLY!!! BUILT FOR A MAN HUH? SINCE MEN DON'T NEED ANY CLOSETS!!! 🤣😂🤣😂
Use a wardrobe.
See my comment/reply above to Melody Mendolia's comment.
that trailer is an art of great engineering. very beautiful. looks like a hot seller.
Did you build this? Cost? Would you build another? Can one be bought?
Yes I built it. I am building another one now and it can be bought.

perfect! that's all you need!
excellent. Did it sell?

You still sell these!?
Yes I have one one the go now. 204 647 2125
Can i buy a day cab and haul this around since i would not be for hire, or do i need a CDL.
No idea
My bet a CDL would be needed since it is not a manufactured mobile home. The truck part to pull it around would be over a 100,000.00 bucks and drink a lot of fuel. And your home would never go up in value. Plus very high insurance rates. By the time all is said and done you could own a 200,000.00 home with property.
@@RodgerMudd you can rent a automatic truck for $400 and this trailer run about $6-$80k
Costs $24k.
Check out HDT RV and you will see how other people have done the same thing. Brian and Cindy "xtreambydesign with passion"
@@RodgerMudd I can buy a used semi truck for 28k and it will get about 7 to 10 mpg pulling a trailer made into a RV. and used 2 Axle box trailer 48 foot for 4000 put in another 20k into making the inside i have a total of 52k finished. a 5th wheel RV you only get 7 to 10mpg. and a BUS RV is only 7 to 10 mpg,
I want one. Where can I buy one? Post links below here please. In Georgia USA. Thanks
yes I do. give me a message
What dose something like this cost?
