Skid Steer Firewood Shear
Переглядів 1,2 тис.Рік тому
This is our prototype skid steer shear. It is able to shear firewood lengths to constant length and is adjustable. Accepts up to 14 inch diameter logs. It is designed to cut long trees laying on the ground into manageable lengths if needed prior to blocking. It "slides" along the fallen tree to the desired length and then shears it on the ground. Example 35 foot fallen trees into 17.5 foot long...

Hey Mike, I’m looking to convert a refrigerated box body into a sauna. The interior walls are clad in FRP panels, and I don’t want any fumes/issues with the panels under the high heat from the sauna. Should/can I remove the panels or should I insulate further on the interior walls to try and stop the heat from reaching the FRP? Any help would be really appreciated!
To be honest I don't think the moisture would get through the plastic coating unless through the seams if any? When these sit empty in the sun they get pretty hot inside. Im guessing at least as hot as in a sauna..
Nice. Would like a price on one with solid quality but basic items. Located in Georgia.
It would depend on exactly you want in it. Im working on one now and i want to sell it with it partially finished. It is lined with 100 year old barn wood from a barn we tore down. KItchen cabinets installed, windows and doors installed and would have the ceiling framed up waiting for panels to be dropped in. Buyer would do all electrical and plumbing. Ceiling open to allow for this. Walls framed and lined and I installed extra insulation as well. Let me know if your interested..
Price?
all depends on how finished you would want it....
I want one. Where can I buy one? Post links below here please. In Georgia USA. Thanks
yes I do. give me a message
You still sell these!?
Yes I have one one the go now. 204 647 2125
Have you ever made a reefer home utilizing the reefer unit to heat and cool as well as possibly power the home?
No I haven't. I think it would be very noisy and inefficient.
If this is refrigerator trailer why are you insulating it?
just to add a bit more to the overall envelope
1:38 that underside looks a little water damaged
Not at all
Id love to see a step-by-step playlist of all the modifications in action. Make a series of it.
i wish i could but it would be pretty random ha
How much
Sold it for 35000
Everything seems so creaky and slamy. It seems louder than it would be in a home. Would it be so much more expensive to have more quiet doors/drawers? Seems like sound insulation is bare minimum : (
Would be easy to make them quieter little felt Sticker in the jam would fix it
I think it's the mic picking it up and the fact there is no furniture
Very nice job, Mike, and a great layout. Thanks.
Thanks My lates one is laid out to allow a couch to go across the end of the trailer for more room.
😂😂😂😂 very funny like an insurance company is going to ensure a Frankenstein like.
Register as an RV, and they will just like a fifth wheel , but better it won't blow apart in a stiff wind
These trailers are built better than a flimsy RV.
Not if it's not certified. @@recoblade1465
I love the kitchen. It looks great 👍 I could live in that 🫶
Just add siding, a little roof, and deck!
Did you have to register it as a welfare unit/trailer or is it legal to drive it on road as a "refer" trailer on paper? What would happen if you got pulled over?
You would register it as an RV, which is what it is after that its no problem. You would have to put private vehicle not for hire on the truck though
Pretty slick design!
Thanks
this is a great idea id love to see what buyer does with it. hope its a nomad
Nice 👍
Thanks
Trying to find a refer trailer with a belly like fedex trucks that have below deck storage. I'd like to convert one into a living area.
Yes that would be cool!
I like it! Have thought about doing this to one for awhile now.
Amazing idea. Would be cool to do an air bnb like this
Always knew refrigerated containers are the way to go.. even buying a whole rig with a working AC you can run it in the desert with the whole trailer roof solar running back to a powerwall. You can also pop it off drop it off and have easy storage in the rear for a ford maverick on a lift. With a radius of 600 miles?? That’s a steal 😊
Mike, how can contact you directly about a refrigerator trailer tiny home conversation?
Hello mannetts@gmail.com

Awesome!
Thanks!
Interesting, thanks for the video, how heavy would a is a fully converted trailer be?
No idea. Not much compared to what is usually hauled in them
Hello from pennsylvania. Your video and the work completed here is absolutely Beautiful 👍 I really love the work you put into this, its basically a professional grade job. Queastion??,, hauling this mobile home through different states, What effects are there concerning DOT, Weigh stations, Federal Regulations concerning this? Im asking these queastions inpart because from the outside it still looks like a commercial vehicle. I drive a fuel tanker truck everyday, so i know there are some queastions about this. If i were pulling this past a weigh station and did not stop, chances are the state police would be on my tail quik. Now i do have a CDL , so im not worried about that, just the part about weigh stations and DOT interface. Id love to hear your feedback on this. Thank you for this video. keep up this great work. i am very impressed.👍 P.S. Frederick.
no idea sorry
I have no idea on that stuff. I'm sorr
Where are you located Mike? Is there any possibility I could ask you a few questions through email?

This is exactly what I would like to do, was thinking it could be a viable business model also. You say you are on a 4th one now. Congrats.
Thank you
Hell there's enough room to put a forklift battery Bank underneath the trailer and you could easily get probably 2000 w of solar panels on the roof ....
Yes you are correct. I would seriously like to have one completely off the grid. Wish I knew more about it.
@@mccrearymike it's not to hard you need a grid tie in pure sine wave inverter this way you can't backfeed ac voltage into the inverter...... You need to shut off the main at the fuse panel and put a lockout device on it.... Then you just need a plain old solar charger system that will charge a set of deep cycle batteries and some solar panels you can also hook this up to a 12 volt generator or 24 volt and or a windmill
@@Jackknife-TV Thanks
If you did the Japanese style floor in some spots it could be a ton more storage too.
Yes you are correct.
@@mccrearymike can we have some direct conversation about your tiny home refrigerator trailer conversation, I would greatly appreciate it because I am currently on my tiny home journey right now! My name is Antonio Beckford, by the way!
@@mccrearymikeI meant tiny home conversion, can we speak sir!

Just a question. Buying my 42 footer in a couple of days. How long do the tires stay up? Will you have to put air in every so often? I'm in canada southern province. It gets hot in the summer and very cold in winter. The tires on sitting cars go down regardless how new they are. (I don't know if weather has anything to do with it lol).
I've never added air to any of them. I guess they go up and down uniformly ha. Easy enough to add it.
@@mccrearymike thanks for getting back to me. I appreciate it. What I ended up doing was cementing 4x4 posts under certain parts of the trailer incase the tires deflate. Nothing has happened yet with the bot summer and now frigid below 0 winter here. Still pumped up.
Those wheels are made to hold 50 thousand pounds loaded Empty wouldn't have a problem U can put Jack stands under the axles
@@briantruck2284 amazing! That's a good idea. Thank you.
excellent. Did it sell?
yes
What are the measurements of the box? We're looking into buying 3 and making a bungalow sort of structure
52 by 8 by 9 high
How long is the trailer? 53feet?
Yes
Ruff cost on conversion please
hard to say . maybe 24 grand

How much did it cost to build and what were the top 3 highest cost associated with your build? One final question. Why didn't you use the reefer tank below the trailer for water storage?
Hi. Diesel used to be in the tank. I don't know if yiu would ever get rid of the smell or not. Also in Canada it would need to be heated to avoid freezing. Flooring. Windows and doors, wood. Also electrical is expensive.
Nice job. I would have gone with sky lights that open instead of windows on the side. Then put the door on the back inside the doors. Nobody would know it was an apartment. U could park anywhere
Thanks
How much interior space do you lose from insulation? Who do contact for purchase info?
Hello you lose 3 inches with the additional insulation. Thanks
Hello, I am about to start another. Looking for a customer that wants one customized... 204 647 2125 or mannetts@gmail.com
Nice work
Thanks
Did you sell it yetM
Yes it went fast. I ve made and sold another last winter and will probably do another.
Yes I'm on my 4th now
really cool to see, great to see it finnished
Yes it turned out well. New owner loves it.
this thing is brilliant good job!. I'm in love with all of it.
How much would one of these trailers cost?
Now trailers are so hard to come by you'd have to buy a new one for 100k and wait a year to get it. Before you could find a 15 year old trailer for 15-25k
Sold for 48000
