The intro of this song always reminds me on a mix of the Batman theme from Danny Elfman and some old Final Fantasy song. The piano version makes this feeling even stronger.
I don't get it. Why in the whole rotten world would you let go of a musician like this? Damn, this guy was AMAZING! I hope he is doing well with his current endeavors!
@Jesse Bowles . Totally agree. Sadly even classic music is underground, can you imagine if a metal guy is playing it better ? The ''elite'' wont ever accept that he could be better than a mythic composer. Only metal fans see this i guess.. Hey look at the guy he must take drugs
Is he aware of the narratives he is channeling in these melodies? Either way, thank you genius. And also for adding the strings in the full version. I can almost hear where the other realms start to overlap. So good!
Basically, a classical composition over a black metal song. What a genius. Hail Mustis and yes, incredibly unfair Shagrath’s face all over the miniature 😂
When people get all whiny about Vortex, I'm always like, Mustis did SO much more for Dimmu. The man is a musical genius. He and Aarstad are so amazing.
@@akumashindorballomu That's cool. But if you look at sings that Mustis wrote or co-wrote(Progenies of the Great Apocalypse, The Insight and the Catharsis, the Promised Future Aeons, Kings of the Carnival Creation) what you would have is a list of the best songs they made while Mustis was a member. And it is definitely not a coincidence. I love Mustis musical style. I would pay 50 bucks for a CD of him just playing piano stuff he wrote for an hour.
@@kaziglubey4455 Did I ever say anything bad about Mustis? Of course not, I love his style, I just prefer Aarstad's darker gothic composions a bit more over Mustis's symphonic pieces. That said, The Fallen Arises is probably my favorite of the piece written by Mustis. And although Spiritual Black Dimensions is probably my fav album featuring him, I'm not sure if he was credited with any compositions there. :/ I think the music may have been written just by Shagrath, Silenoz and Nagash, and Mustis may have begun adding his imput from Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia onwards, but again, I can't be sure here. If you want to hear some stuff written by Aarstad that he didn't plagiarize, I do recommend listening to In Passion Swept by Enthral, and probably check out their album The Mirror's Opposite End. It's very much in the vein of Stormblast, old Dimmu fans would definitely enjoy it. :)
Mustis and Stian are from different schools and I'm not sure if Stian could ever play the piano like Mustis. Not all keyboardists excell this great at the piano.
I always thought Progenies Of The Great Apocalypse had a similar sound to Christopher Young's score on Hellbound: Hellraiser 2, so gothic, dark, and climactic yet beautiful. Mustis has taken Progenies to another level here. I could listen to this ad infinitum.

He should do an album of classical etudes. I'd like to hear more of his playing outside of the confines of Dimmu Borgir.
Here I am in 2022 watching this masterpiece. Absolutely beautiful
"Some kind of celestial event. No - no words. No words to describe it. Poetry! They should have sent a poet. So beautiful. So beautiful... I had no idea."
"Contact" is a beautiful movie.
this is beautiful to listen too.
Beautiful plays
Beautiful man
✨🎹🎶
I keep asking myself, any band never get interested to recruiting Mustis in all years? with such talent.
I miss him in music! 😢😢😢
S. Slereth I keep asking it myself as well... how could it be?
He is working as a professor at a university and is not interested in doing any kind of metal projects from what I've heard...
@@Ballad2Grave hahahaha. Eh no.. He is definitely not a professor. He played on an album with my band Susperia after leaving Dimmu. In 2011. Now he lives in the countryside, isolated and works with music.
Susperia recruited him
I would recrut him for my Band... I just ain't got no money to pay him! Rsrsrs
This is the most beautiful piece of music I've ever heard.
This guy was a big loss to the group. Shame they couldn't handle things professionally and continue with him.
They kicked him out cause he demanded songwriting credits. He wrote a bunch of stuff on the last 3 albums and he did all orchestrations alone. Vortex was also kicked out for siding with Mustis.
That hurt my heart man...
> Mustis and ICS Vortex "leave" (more like they kicked them for the lulz)
> They were the only decent members of Dummy Burger.
> Dummy Burger joins deeper into the dark sell-out side of the Force.
> Silenoz and Shagrath now shit bats in the morning, regreting the departure of both.
Conclusion: this band is doomed. Nearly seven years since "Abra-fucking-hadabra" and they haven't made new stuff.
I bet my candy bag Dummy Burger is going to split during 2017.
Which is a fucking crap, I'm a big fan of them.
I'm being serious: I even got "A Succubus in Rapture" as ringtone.
Shit... I was expecting that that could be a possible reason, but do not want to believe, that here were playing role money...
@@-Vitalis- I used to have Progenies of The Great Apocalypse as my ringtone cos it's impossible to ignore or confuse with anybody else's ringtone, lol. After a couple of years I tired of it making me jump every time the phone rang and used some chiptune instead.
I love the look on the guy in the hoodie behind him, eyes closed, totally taking it in, its great.
2022, where is he now?
I think in some other band/bands
He's incredible so so beautiful
I would definitly be like the dude in the back with my eyes closed and enjoying that moment..!! So haunting and Beautiful..!! Hail Mustis..!!! 🤘🤘
I bet Mustis loves some Chopin in the evening ~
Theres a video of him playing Nocturne 20 at a house party lol, should be in suggestions on your right
xLuye I saw that like 10 minutes after I posted this! :D
DarkRenaissance2012 ?
stefanopetrinimusic
yes?
The intro of this song always reminds me on a mix of the Batman theme from Danny Elfman and some old Final Fantasy song. The piano version makes this feeling even stronger.
I don't get it. Why in the whole rotten world would you let go of a musician like this? Damn, this guy was AMAZING! I hope he is doing well with his current endeavors!
Best display of piano playing skills I have ever seen or heard. This is up there with Mozart, Beethoven, and Bach
LMAO
@Jesse Bowles . Totally agree. Sadly even classic music is underground, can you imagine if a metal guy is playing it better ? The ''elite'' wont ever accept that he could be better than a mythic composer. Only metal fans see this i guess..
Hey look at the guy he must take drugs
@Ludwig van Beethoven OK, this might be the best use of a gimmick account I have ever seen
whoa easy there cowboy, it´s pretty decent but let´s not get carried away.
Nah dude, there arent many metal piano players, and this guy is the best of them all. And could probably rival those bigger names I named
One of my favorite piece
Thank you mustis..
Great!! I miss you in Dimmu...
Is he aware of the narratives he is channeling in these melodies? Either way, thank you genius. And also for adding the strings in the full version. I can almost hear where the other realms start to overlap. So good!
I really need sheets for this version of progenies...!
Basically, a classical composition over a black metal song. What a genius. Hail Mustis and yes, incredibly unfair Shagrath’s face all over the miniature 😂
he was most of the talent in that band to bad he is gone
Splendid!!!! Absolutely tremendous!!! I so greatly underappreciated the talents of Mustis for so long!
When people get all whiny about Vortex, I'm always like, Mustis did SO much more for Dimmu. The man is a musical genius. He and Aarstad are so amazing.
meh, Aarstad couldn't even write his own stuff. And certainly nothing compared to this
@@kaziglubey4455 Silenoz did confirm that Aarstad composed the intro to Mourning Palace, so at least he didn't plagiarize that...
I can't stop listening to this song...Mustis is surely very talented.
It's insane how incredibly talented Mustis is, people with his kind of talent are 1 in a trillion.
Not possible, since about 117 billion members of our species have ever been born on Earth.
@@Asthfghl Which tells you how incredible his talent is.
This guy deserves way more recognition
This is unreal good
This is amazing! I love piano adaptations of metal songs, especially when they retain this much intricacy.
He needs to meet and collaborate with Ardek.
+Rene Aensland That will cause a fucking BLACK hole (because Black metal... xD) and we will die all together in the best way possible woohooooo
Yeah, Mustis vs Ardek, who will be punished? :-D
I can listen to both all the time :)
No one said VS.
Sorry, just kidding.
BEST APOCALYPSE EVER
Mannen er sykt dyktig! Dimmu Borgir har virkelig mistet noe eksepsjonelt stort her!
Fucking beast, this homs is pure gold.
I always thought Progenies Of The Great Apocalypse had a similar sound to Christopher Young's score on Hellbound: Hellraiser 2, so gothic, dark, and climactic yet beautiful. Mustis has taken Progenies to another level here. I could listen to this ad infinitum.
Dimmu: *kicks Mustis & Vortex*
And that was the worst trade deal in the history of trade deals.
The best black metal keyboardist of all time.
Does anyone else gets transported to Transilvania with this music?
It's not that dark. Trust me, I'm from there. :))
Seriet Lereiyd
Bineinteles
Out of this world player and incredible ,genius taste !
I never realized how much Mustis looks similar to Wentworth Miller just with long black hair.
