Really hoping we get a bunch of lakes and interconnected water ways inland. It would be very cool to boat all the way from the middle of the map to wherever. Just need to make rivers plenty wide and not allow people to build to block them

Nahh allow people to build on them, then build a wall with keylocked gate and sell keys in a vending machine
even if people weren't allowed to build all the way across the river to block it, they will just build turrets facing the river on both the sides to kill people trying to boat down the river.
Night time was huge for me as a solo chaning the base sorting loot, electricity set ups etc. My only concern back in the day was we needed a residual glow on our light sources to make it possible to turn them on
I 2nd this, I'm I new player and playing solo mostly, after getting beamed by bigger groups countless times with a full inventory I use the night alot to get from point A to point B
For night time they should add some kind of eye-adaption system, like our eyes work. If we've been in the dark for a couple of minutes or so, they should make your game a little brighter and if you look at light or get close to light, then you should restart the process.

I play on a lot of modded servers where night time doesn't exist and tbh I like night time the way it is now. especially as a solo, it's a great time to move loot around or do riskier things. I also like the fact that, as the dev blog says, it acts as a natural "hey, take a break. go get some water/food. go to the bathroom. take a step back". night time acts as both a perfect cover for solo/duo players, as well as a natural point at which you can take a break and plan your next moves/objectives, or just take a break from the game. imo it works perfectly and should stay the way it is
Yeah I don't mind night time either. I like the fireworks and neon signs and stuff.

I honestly enjoy night time. I either take a quick break or clean up my base loot from the daytime madness, craft or upgrade 😂
I enjoy nighttime because since nobody is playing, I can speed run a contested monument while running into nobody 😂
Wonder if they'll add a hanging function for backpacks. A coat rack or something to avoid despawning

@@MrRando-yl7tc imagine having a backpack-rack with all your prepared raidkits (stuff like build mats for raidbase, beds, boxes, extra meds, doors, boxes, autoturret, etc) always ready to go. or as the raidmaster of a group you can just prepare peoples "inventories" yourself to make sure no1 forgets some shit and you dont have to permanently ask them "do you have x" "who has extra slots" etc
I think caves and rocks update ais huge. I like the idea that you could build a cheap small base that has a huge raid cost because of the natural walls. I've always thought solos needed a way to make stronger bases without playing rust like a full time job. At the moment I just build a couple of 2x1s and hope for the best.
I didnt think about the bag limit but it would be a good idea to make beds not count towards bag limit
My thoughts on connecting above rails with underground is an L. This wipe I've 3 campers camping intersections, with respawns launchers etc. Metro was already camp city, just helped zergs camp it harder
While I haven’t experienced that yet if it is common then I think it’s a small L. Honestly I’m just glad you can’t build on top of them otherwise the train system would be a true nightmare
You can build pretty damn close, 50 man zerg built tower right infront of it with turrets
hjune, i'm fucking playing at night, I get to outpost at night or I farm wood at night if I need it. Its one the best ways for me to get to hard to reach places without getting wrecked by groups. Some people abuse their settings to get through night, but bro.... night is HIGHLY important to me as a solo.
Having it like that limits PvP though but for people like you who like to hide that's what you want
@@LukBacca I wouldn't even play the game if I was stuck trying to recycle or shop stuff back to my base and lost it 90% of the time because endless pvp. I enjoy pvp as much as the next person but it gets old getting rolled by duos/trios/clans 85% of my pvp experience.

Love the backpacks. I hope they don't do it like Shulker boxes in Minecraft, where you have 5 lines of space put into 1 chest slot.
When you're terrible at Rust, like me, yet for some reason continue to play it, nighttime is your friend!
Regarding the backpack in Dayz you can put stuff in bags then stash them lol so stash bags will probably have backpacks

i use night time to move loot or later in wipe i grab nigh vision and then i go mine rocks because its just less likely to get jumped because of this i really like the night as it is lol

they should honestly remove copters they make the world less lively and lessen the ground pvp and raid potential of roof campers ,and a nerf to roof camping honestly same with auto turrets there are too many things that makes you not want to leave the base and hard to counter(like auto turret in bush).and add something to make roaming rewarding speaking as a solo though.
I got an idea, maybe make team ui max: 6 players, buff silenced weapons, buff nighttime slightly so you can always see, albeit not well.
M4 shotgun is awesome when you do find one!
I do most of my flame raids and big raids at night as a solo.
It's my only and best option.
People aren’t considering that night time can still be used even if it’s not pitch black. It still provides cover.

i get the frustration of some of this stuff on twitch rivals but that isn’t the actual game, of course “metas” are gonna be used harder in a huge competition
as well nighttime is extremely useful imo, i get some of the most work done during then with build, organizing or doing runs to outpost/ bandit
Only thing I disagree with you on is nighttime. Keeping the nigjt the way it is adds so much depth to the game and sets apart players who progress despite it or not
If we're going to keep the survival aspect of the game, the nighttime being like it is enhances that aspect greatly

Have only found it on PvE server, not on PvP….its pretty OP for heavy’s on large oil but easier to get an M2 which is obviously way better

Leave night time alone! I use it for my outpost runs and almost never die. As solo this is hugely important for progression. Sure, some players will use gamma settings to make night easier but most dont.
also just like to blog said it is a good time to take a break from the game
Night time makes it easier to avoid PvP, rust said in that blog that they want to make changes to make PvP happen more often

examples, if missile silo exists anf gives more loot than a redcard launch run. it needs buffed. get rid of the rads inside launch or get rid of the scientists. Launch is literally ONLY USED for bradley.
Bro that Nexus thing is going to be the most buggiest thing we will ever experience. Players probably won't even end up in other maps/servers, you'll just phase through the edge of the map and die or something lmao. They should be focusing on the countless other issues imo before implementing something THIS huge. It's just their way of covering our eyes from all the other issues by throwing this big new fancy idea in front of us.

i love night if t2 or above, i’ll be honest. But i hate it, if not progressed
We should get a new but very hard monument called USS Missouri, it would be filled with heavies, techies (basically special forces of rust, they would deal almost as much damage as a player, but their hp would be that of a blue scientist, their U.I would be advances enough to stalk players and full on beam them/tapping. Finally, after beating the Techies and Scientists, Heavies will spawn from seperate bunkers each housing their own crates and blue/red/green card rooms.

I just want to see more guns tbh like an MP seven an m4 I like the game as it sits but as of right now, I just feel like it lacks in the combat department. It’s kind of like the same few weapons that everyone uses I feel like there should be a way better selection of assault rifles, and SMG’s and shotguns because as of right now, the game is 10 years old and they only have about three of each weapon, which is not that good I get they’ve been around for 10 years but it doesn’t look like much has been done in those 10 years

I can understand about the night to some extent, but as you say in your vid, no other game is so dark at night! Just gotta embrace it I feel, if people up their gamme and stuff. It's gonna happen....please please Facepunch, ditch the tech tree, get people going to monuments looking for items, trading, it makes sense
they should add match making in wipeday

I think the backpack thing is getting a bit of an overeaction. I don't see it as something that's going to be used a lot on a high pop server. I could see it useful to a solo on a low pop server OR any solo only server. Outside of that, it's just another thing to have to worry about when rushing out of the base to get back to the fight.
Not necessarily, rust has been a game for 10 years plus and players HAVE been wanting a way to carry more loot somehow.. now they give us backpacks which you saw CAN be very useful transferring many inv of loot, or better yet, put your inv in your backpack then chuck it down a mountain if your being chased by gunmen. XD
add old recoil back would help the game

Re the anti-cheat topic, in places like Korea they do ask for your social security number for your accounts, which in Western Countries people feel like is an over-reach. Honestly, I feel like just a mobile phone number would be better and it can double as a 2FA

No, once you put items into a backpack you cannot place it in your inventory or a box, it must stay on your back on on the ground

Likely not. If you could, it’d have to be an empty backpack inside of the other. Can’t store backpacks filled with loot in another container.

Seeing people constantly complain about night time is hilarious. I always roam nights with nvgs and silencer. Its the perfect time to farm or make trips to outpost

You can’t put bags with loot in them into boxes…they have to be empty. Even with backpack plugins, this is how it works for the most part. Not sure they’d allow that in vanilla as that’d be way to OP.

Server i play on has Nexus Activated with AI Bots that build bases and run monuments bring your loot to their base if they kill you lol pretty fun

I'm with you on the night time. sure maybe 5% of players might use night time for cover to move/farm but that's still such a small amount of people. They are forcing most people to AFK for way too long. night time either needs to be shorter or brighter. Devs...pick one.

i would imagine when it comes to night time they have data they can look at on who is doing what at night so your personally experience of just waiting around doesn't really mean anything

the bag thing has another solution. make all bags within the same grid have a timer. the bag you just used has full timer and others within the same grid will have a separate timer what should the amount be not sure but it would force you to either wait a bit or respawn outside of the grid. also make it for bags only and beds have separate mechanics. as for the light issue that is a stupid reason "people may use something to boost gamma" ya like everyone else can do as well. its not an unfair advantage if you choose not to take advantage of it.
