  • In this episode of The Cordial Catholic, I'm joined by Nathan Lancaster, a campus missionary completely sold out for Jesus Christ and His Church - with a fantastic passion for his faith and a great story to tell!
First, Nathan talks about his incredible story of deeper conversion to Christ through campus ministry. Then, Nathan and I dive into what's going on on college and university campuses around North America, what it means to be a disciple of Jesus, what it's like to do missionary work on the frontlines, where Nathan sees the Church headed, and why young people (and old people, too!) are turning more and more towards the sacred and traditional aspects of Catholic liturgy, worship, and practice.

Nathan is the man! We met at a missionary retreat for FOCUS and I can attest, his zeal for the Catholic faith is real. And it’s very refreshing for a Protestant convert because I have experienced cradle Catholics that are confused when I tell them how I “found the true Church”

Those cradle catholics are unfortunately very ignorant of their own faith. That is why they are confused.

I'm a Catholic revert in my early 30s. I volunteered at a Catholic VBS and met a 20 year old recently confirmed Catholic convert also volunteering. ❤ Pray for the return of Catholics who strayed and for the convertion of Protestants 🙏🏼
Also, be unapologetically Catholic and keep spreading the truth 🙌🏽

Another Mississippi Catholic? Crazy to encounter in the wild! Converted ten years ago at 19. My Catholic friends in high school really challenged me and my agnosticism. I'm lucky that my Parish has been around for about 130 years so the community was more used to Catholics. Go up to the town just north and we're considered "pagans" again. I remember attending my friends confirmation classes and just devouring the Catechism.

I attend the K-State Newman Center (St. Isidore's Catholic Student Center). It's a great place to worship, and the students are so much more faithful than I ever was at their age.

Im almost through the RCIA program im a convert.
The gist i got from my instructors was that catholics dont evangelize like protestants. They see it more as proselytizing than evangelizing. And the conclusion was something more like be a christian around your family and job, and they'll ask you about being a christian, and that's the ideal way to evangelize. I'm just throwing that out there.

Nathan's story is very inspirational. He is doing amazing work, but as he mentioned, protestants are often ahead. But he may be missing out on some things . Some ministry basics are the baptism of the HS with fire and praying in tongues. Knowing God in the secret place, the armor of God, and the blood of Jesus and prophecy. Shamefully, only very few evangelical churches work in this apostolic way .

After attending TLM for more than 20 years, I attended Easter Vigil at a local NO parish this year. There were more adults received into the Church at that Mass than in the quarter of a century I went to TLM. Yes, infant baptisms are a common occurrence, but year after year of Easter Vigils at the TLM without a single catechumen present. Very sad.

    • @Davcramer

As a convert myself, what attracted me to the Catholic Church at my first Mass was hearing the Mass in English and realizing that the Mass from beginning to end was either straight from the Bible or contained a religious concept (for example "In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit" = the Trinity). As a Protestant that Biblical focus was important, and it was present even more than in my prior Catholic denomination. I don't know how I would have reacted to the TLM, whether I would have grasped that focus on the Bible if the Mass were in Latin, or whether it would have seemed foreign to me. I've never attended a TLM service, so I can't compare it to the Novus Ordo, but I have to thank the NO for my conversion.

To bad they just as you do not understand the Gospel of Jesus Christ that you are to Obey!
To bad they just as you do not understand what the Will of God is!
To bad they just as you do not understand the narrow way that very few will find!
To bad they just as you want to end up at the lake of fire for the second death !
But that your choice because you both do not want to understand God and the Gospel!
    !
Proverbs 1:7 KJV ¶The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
Micah 6:6-8 KJV ¶Wherewith shall I come before the Lord, and bow myself before the high God? shall I come before him with burnt offerings, with calves of a year old? 7. Will the Lord be pleased with thousands of rams, or with ten thousands of rivers of oil? shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul? 8. He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?
Proverbs 15:14 KJV The heart of him that hath understanding seeketh knowledge: but the mouth of fools feedeth on foolishness.
I used to go to Catechism, and it great if you want to learn to be a pagan!
