When I first got into working on cars I couldn't tell a Snap-On tool from a junk tool, they were all the same in my mind. After I started to familiarize myself with using tools it quickly became apparent that the Snap-On branded tools just felt more solid, I didn't have to ask I knew they were a better brand, not to mention everyone's box had a Snap-On logo on it. The first time I saw the Snap-On truck pull into the parking lot I got so excited, the one guy told me how I didn't need the all the money right away, I could set up an account and how I can have tools right then and there and make payments, I was all in. I walked onto the truck and I was just pointing at tools I wanted and he was piling them up with a huge smile, I hadn't asked how much anything cost at this point, I was too excited seeing it all. I had 1/2" airgun, 4 socket sets, 2 ratchets, 2 sets of wrenches, 2 extension sets, 2 screw driver sets and a couple hammers. Based on prices I saw while in Home Depot and Lowes, I was upping those prices a little for the quality, I'm thinking maybe $1000 total, possibly $1500 or so. I was wrong, I was so sooO wrong, it was multiple thousands, I don't remember the exact number. I had to tell him to put most of it back, that walk of shame off the truck with a lousy ratchet and socket set was upsetting but my love affair ended rather quickly, to this day that is the only 2 things that I ever purchased brand new from Snap-On. They are the Apple of the tool industry.
There is no doubt they are pretty damned good quality, sadly for them their prices have gotten silly, and others are catching up quality wise, I still love my snap on gear though!
But The snap on guy will so show up! every week for his payment that's a guarantee. For what he spent on that box i hope he gets free hats and at least a coffee mug with a half naked chic on it or throw in some calendars.
I've been debating whether I should by an off brand tool box like extreme or a snapon and in my research I came across this video. Seeing the comments I just see salty back yard mechanics who only came here to hate on your purchase because they are jealous. I don't care what the name is, but you cannot deny that the epiq is the greatest tool box in the world.
theres alot of haters out there for sure... they wanna rag you cuz you buy the best.... its like a kia sportage driver talking shit about a cadillac escalade... makes no sense
The new box is awesome, I love the blue chrome great choice on the color scheme. I know the 19 week wait was brutal but worth it in the end. Congrats on reaching that milestone, deffinetly something to be very proud of. Keep the awesome videos coming and enjoy that tool temple
Hello Rustbelt Machanic, I just got through watching your video of you assembling your new Snap-on 84" EPIQ toolbox. WOW!! That's a very BIG, BEAUTIFUL toolbox!! I know that your going to love it. I can say that because I have had my 84" EPIQ toolbox sense 2013 & I love mine! I did a toolbox inventory here on UA-cam about 1 year ago. I'll be looking forward to seeing a full toolbox inventory video of your new toolbox. I have seen your old toolbox inventory. Once again, that's a very sexy toolbox that you have!! Gregg (Critter) Muse
My last box I bought from snap on was a chest one and it was the harley maroon with the upper cabinet. Price was about twelve thousand if I remember right and I just might be wrong as that was in two thousand three or four. I loved that box and it had just about all the room I needed. If I were to do it over I would get the side boxes as well as it just never had deep enough boxes for all the stuff I had. The testers and stuff for checking vacuum leaks and rad fill and the tester Modus I think was the name, took the place of the brick. Been a long time as I got hurt/ crippled in two thousand five an eventually quit all together so what did that one run with all the bells?
Wether or not us viewers would pay that much or could afford this badass box, why is everyone complaining? He has two jobs and is very good at them, let him do what he wants. He’s got a check from the shop and a check from UA-cam, he wouldn’t buy It if he couldn’t afford it. Anyway you’ve got a badass box man!
Hello Rustbelt Mechanic, Very nice toolbox. Very informative. Wish I would have been able to watch a video like this before I assembled my EPIQ toolbox. Thanks for sharing your video with us. Gregg (Critter) Muse
You must make a shit ton of money lol. Air pods, Apple Watch, nice truck, lifted with rims and now an Epiq!!!!!! I plan on getting the same box but with one locker. Beautiful box
Every one of my dealers over the years have always at least offered to assemble a new box if it was more than a single small roller box. That set up is nice, but I prefer the stainless top for writing on when needed and easy clean up of all the grease / oil / paint /sealant, but then my equipment work is probably dirtier than this shop. The locker support being so much better than the KRL line was one of the things that pushed me to Epiq. My old 1022 / 1201 with the hanging locker sagging off two little tabs really annoyed me.... I just unbolted the whole cross-support to remove extra locker wheels and pulled them off in one piece.
My dealer offered to assemble, but I honestly don’t trust anyone more than myself...and what kind of content would that be if I just filmed my Snap-on guy struggling to use a ratchet for 5 hours lol
LOL! Now that makes perfect sense! I also assembled all of mine pretty much for the "It's my new stuff, let me at it!!" kinda feeling. My last box delivery drew a crowd - 2 dealers and an area corporate rep came by to check it out and see the finished product when I added a 68" stack next to my 84 / hutch / one locker.
Nice box I like it.I have a big box from Snap on but I brought back in 1990s I am lucky it is played off and I hope you got something for trade in the old box
The amount of jelly I feel is off the charts bro... congratulations brother on all your hard work and accomplishments it’s a true vision of hard work and determination will equal success... I wish you continued happiness in UA-cam and mechanical adventures and in life itself
When I saw that mess, my first thought was 'I sure wouldn't trust this guy to work on anything I own.' I sure hope it is just because he was excited and rushed.
Do you have video of putting the work center on the box? Do you have a few guys lift it and put it on the box? How did you get it from on a pallet to the top of the box. Thanks for everything
We used a forklift to lift the pallet right up to the box height and just barely lifted and slid it over. Or you can watch my bedliner top replacement video where I used the factory lift points to lift it with straps and a forklift.
Your new box even makes me jealous.. nice choice I should have did the echo locks on mine, just seemed gimmicky. Now I wish I got it. Wonder if I can add it on mine now🤔
Lol thanks man. They tell me you can’t but after looking at all the setup I don’t see why you wouldn’t be able to. Only thing that would be different would be where the factory plug would be for the locks in the back
That is one sweet ass box!! Who cares on the cost as long as you are happy wit it. You probably did a better job putting it together then the dealer. Not sure if I could of handled the 19 weeks to get it. That would be very hard for me. You will have to make another video once you get it filled and organized.
Hey I have a 68inch hutch having a issue with the spot welds on the inside of the hutch look to be starting to rust how visible are the spot welds on inside of the hutch? Had it for about a year? Snap on said there now sure what there going to do?
Thats an awesome box i hope u enjoy it. Thats ludicrous to spend that amount of money on a tool box but hey if u can more power to ya . Even if i could i wouldn't. Thats just me being me . I would buy an 84" tool vault with a hutch for probably 1/3 of price . Same size but no bells an whistle. Great video
Exactly this! I am very glad that I assembled it because of that AND I would be a nervous wreck watching someone else move around this thing and potentially scratching it before I even get to use it!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE that color combination. How can I get some of those blackout Snap On logos?? I need 2 of them. On a side note, I am beyond shocked that your Snap On dealer did not assemble that box for you.
Awesome box man, I just could not see myself paying that much for a toolbox. I own my Snap On box and all the tools in it. It is such a joy not have to making a payment every week but none the less that toolbox is sexy AF
Definitely an awesome box, hard work pays off.....nice matching cart. ... wondering if they make a taller hood for the middle? Looks a little low for you to reach in.
Great video, I'd love to have a similar box, that Epiq range is just fantastic. Will you give us another toolbox tour to show the layout once you've moved all your tools into the new box? Keep making great videos!
As a dealership guy do you really need that much storage for tools? For me one of the perks about working at a dealership is not having to buy that many tools.
looks great, when I was an fng I remember an old wise tech tell me, it's not the toolbox that makes the technician...this tech must make some serious money....remember it only takes one wrong step or one wrong lift and the wrenching days are over, but the payment is still there....I have witnessed it time and time again...ya cause Im old now...ha
i have a flat black master series box and i was wondering if you have found a way to get the oily fingerprints off the box with out damaging the paint also it looks grate all put together.
It's his money people, no reason to degrade him, stop being jealous, stop being condescending, it will not accomplish anything in life. I can't afford one, well I can but I just don't want one, but I'm not going to insult him for doing what he wants with his money. If he can't afford it then he will be the only one that will suffer not you.
Great video. Had difficulty lining up the locker. Got it on but I think one of the welded nuts on the epiq broke off. Had to remove the drawer to hold it from the inside to get that bolted. Ordered the other locker. Any recommendations on getting it lined up.
I just literally used pieces of cardboard under the casters to line things up. If it was off a little bit here or there, just roll it back and add a few pieces of paper or piece of cardboard to roll onto.
Having a box that big would make a tech think twice about getting pissed and quitting a job! I would think a lot of (most) shops wouldn’t have the wall space for boxes this huge!
So freakin badass bro I absolutely love that color combo!!!! 😍😍😍😍 I cant wait for a toolbox tour video of this monster!!! Btw I made sure to tell everyone that I work with to check your channel out. Again thank you for awesome videos keep up the great work! I look forward to the stickers 😁
Thanks man! I’ve got a nice box working together for you. I was waiting til I cleaned my box out during the big switchover tomorrow bc I know I have more stickers tucked away in there lol
What TV is that and how did you mount it? I am waiting for my hutch to arrive and I want to add my TV/Monitor to it as well. Thanks and thats a great looking set up. Be proud of your accomplishment!
Thanks man! It’s a 28”smart tv. I’ll be doing my full toolbox tour next weekend where I’ll show how I mounted it. Or if you need it before then just dm me on Instagram 👍
Out standing. That is the baddest tool box on the planet. Freaking computer and all the power strips. Awesome dude. I know my pocket book ant that big but I am so envious. How long u think it will take to move the tools over.
Looks great man. Love the colors just hate that the matte colors show finger prints so easy I want to do matte black with all goss black trim so bad but my gloss black box is bad enough keeping clean 😂 can’t wait to see updates on the other stuff
When I first got into working on cars I couldn't tell a Snap-On tool from a junk tool, they were all the same in my mind. To be fair the ratchets are pretty nice
There is no doubt they are pretty damned good quality, sadly for them their prices have gotten silly, and others are catching up quality wise, I still love my snap on gear though!
🤣🤣🤣
The box looks awesome but I’d be pissed if I dropped $20-30k and my SO dealer didn’t show up to assemble the toolbox.
That's exactly what I was thinking
I was upset when snapon had mine together already but wth preference right?
But The snap on guy will so show up! every week for his payment that's a guarantee. For what he spent on that box i hope he gets free hats and at least a coffee mug with a half naked chic on it or throw in some calendars.
BlindBatG34 i watched another video where he said he opted to put it together himself because its no fun to come assembled already
I’d be pissed if for that price i had to add washers to “level out the wheels”
I've been debating whether I should by an off brand tool box like extreme or a snapon and in my research I came across this video. Seeing the comments I just see salty back yard mechanics who only came here to hate on your purchase because they are jealous. Amen to that one and I absolutely love seeing it every day!
Totally agree
theres alot of haters out there for sure... they wanna rag you cuz you buy the best.... its like a kia sportage driver talking shit about a cadillac escalade... makes no sense
The new box is awesome, I love the blue chrome great choice on the color scheme. I know the 19 week wait was brutal but worth it in the end. Congrats on reaching that milestone, deffinetly something to be very proud of. Keep the awesome videos coming and enjoy that tool temple
Thanks! I definitely will😁
Well, it ain’t a Husky toolbox like mine. But it’ll have to do...lol. Congrats and looks awesome!
You should have used harbor freight tools to assemble the whole thing
Would’ve been a sin....but would’ve kinda been funny.
Hello Rustbelt Machanic,
I just got through watching your video of you assembling your new Snap-on 84" EPIQ toolbox. WOW!! That's a very BIG, BEAUTIFUL toolbox!! I know that your going to love it. I loved your previous toolbox but oh man... this new one is the mother of all tooboxes. Congrats, dude. Hard work always pays off.
My last box I bought from snap on was a chest one and it was the harley maroon with the upper cabinet. Thanks I have two epiq lockers on the way for my 68
This is why I own Snap-On stock and buy my tools on eBay, delivery by the brown tool truck with UPS on the side!
That the king of toolboxes it's a beast. Love the color even more since it's put together. Just awesome
Wether or not us viewers would pay that much or could afford this badass box, why is everyone complaining? He has two jobs and is very good at them, let him do what he wants. Congratulations sir. That box is badass!
Sweet box. I have the 68" epiq and hutch. wish I had room for more but where I work I can only go up (in height....not management).
Hello Rustbelt Mechanic,
Very nice toolbox. Very informative. Wish I would have been able to watch a video like this before I assembled my EPIQ toolbox. Thanks for sharing your video with us.
Gregg (Critter) Muse
I am surprised your dealer didn't come by and assemble it.
Yeah when I bought a box like that, my so dealer came and assembled it for me
I've been on the fence about upgrading out of my little husky for a good few years now, this put me over the edge. Your box is awesome man!
Thanks buddy!
Are you willing to pay almost $30,000 for a box like that?
You must make a shit ton of money lol. Air pods, Apple Watch, nice truck, lifted with rims and now an Epiq!!!!!! I plan on getting the same box but with one locker. Beautiful box

Thank you but I have to check on my top if I have the holes because I do have full stainless steel top
Oh are you talking about the work surface? Mine did not have holes in that, the box came with a template for drilling those holes
That’s a sweet epiq bro. Love that color.
Did that top box come with a mattress and a pillow?
LOL- exactly. May have to skip rent/mortgage payments to pay for this baby!
Nice box I like it.I have a big box from Snap on but I brought back in 1990s I am lucky it is played off and I hope you got something for trade in the old box
That box set up is insane! Puts mine to shame
Nice video, can’t wait to see a toolbox tour!
The amount of jelly I feel is off the charts bro... congratulations brother on all your hard work and accomplishments it’s a true vision of hard work and determination will equal success... I wish you continued happiness in UA-cam and mechanical adventures and in life itself
Thanks bud! I appreciate the praise and the continued support!
thetwig187 Toolboxes make you efficient but tools make you money.
I guess most people put them up against a wall, but for someone who doesn’t, they could engineer some better cable management
When I saw that mess, my first thought was 'I sure wouldn't trust this guy to work on anything I own.' I sure hope it is just because he was excited and rushed.
*Droooool* Wow buddy, you must be one happy boy. Thanks for sharing bud!

Beautiful box, how are you going to move it if you have to find another job?
Fair play. What a box. Vincent from the 🇬🇧
I would need a toolbox...to even put together this toolbox! It is quite awesome though👍🏽🇺🇸💯🦾
Cant wait for the tool box tour comming soon
Your new box even makes me jealous.. nice choice I should have did the echo locks on mine, just seemed gimmicky. Now I wish I got it. Wonder if I can add it on mine now🤔

Getting myself a 84 inch epic next week candy apple red an black trim

Everyone complaining about having to assemble it, but I would feel that would make it more satisfying to me when finished.
Exactly this! I am very glad that I assembled it because of that AND I would be a nervous wreck watching someone else move around this thing and potentially scratching it before I even get to use it!
Congratulations Man! Love the color combo.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE that color combination. How can I get some of those blackout Snap On logos?? I need 2 of them. On a side note, I am beyond shocked that your Snap On dealer did not assemble that box for you.
i loved that they gave you the light for free .how much did you spend to get a free light ?
Awesome box man, I just could not see myself paying that much for a toolbox. I own my Snap On box and all the tools in it. It is such a joy not have to making a payment every week but none the less that toolbox is sexy AF
Thanks man, mine was paid for before this and I’ll have this paid off in a year or less.
Something tells me this same comment is repeated to even the cashier lady at your local grocery store.
Right lol
That is one INCREDIBLE setup man! Sweet!
Thanks man!
@@RustbeltMechanic you only secure the hutch into the top with tek screws?
That is a solid good looking work station.
what the size of the tv mount on your hutch?
Definitely an awesome box, hard work pays off.....nice matching cart. ... wondering if they make a taller hood for the middle? Looks a little low for you to reach in.
Great video, I'd love to have a similar box, that Epiq range is just fantastic. Will you give us another toolbox tour to show the layout once you've moved all your tools into the new box? Keep making great videos!
I absolutely will! Switching stuff over today, or at least trying to lol
As a dealership guy do you really need that much storage for tools? For me one of the perks about working at a dealership is not having to buy that many tools.
Awesome setup👍 I know the feeling... then comes all the work setting it all up and puttin tools in it😅
Right?! That’s gonna be an all day affair tomorrow, with a video likely to follow!
Well deserved! Looks awesome
Thanks bud, have to say, likely wouldn’t have made it to the point of getting this without your inspiration of making a channel!
looks great, when I was an fng I remember an old wise tech tell me, it's not the toolbox that makes the technician...this tech must make some serious money....remember it only takes one wrong step or one wrong lift and the wrenching days are over, but the payment is still there....I have witnessed it time and time again...ya cause Im old now...ha
That roll cart is sick
Is there pre drilled holes in that bedliner top for the hutch or did you have to drill or screw through it?
Definitely does not have pre drilled holes, you have to painfully do that yourself
Comes with rihno top an led drawer light
What did you mount the tv/monitor with?
So much freaking awesomeness!
That thing is a Beast! I would love to see it side by side with your old box when you swap them!
i have a flat black master series box and i was wondering if you have found a way to get the oily fingerprints off the box with out damaging the paint also it looks grate all put together.
That’ll be a video I’ll do here soon as well👍
What's the part number on the magnetic switching light?
30 K Box ? Holy shit😮😮😮 Looks good though! congratulations on your new purchase
It's his money people, no reason to degrade him, stop being jealous, stop being condescending, it will not accomplish anything in life. Preach it!!

Rustbelt Mechanic I’ll try that for sure.
Having a box that big would make a tech think twice about getting pissed and quitting a job! I would think a lot
of (most) shops wouldn’t have the wall space for boxes this huge!
That is very true and that would definitely be something to think about.
Love your tool box bro looks amazing love it.👌👌
Gorgeous color! Looks great all put together!
Great box. For your roll cart should have got the Epiq sidekiq
SO WHAT IS THE TOTAL COST OF YOUR SETUP?
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU LOSE POWER?
That's a sexy tool storage unit
It is glorious. I’m so jealous.
I just bought the same box without the lockers or riser. Troy Ohio
I just dropped that much on a used minivan... You enjoy that tool box!
How many plugs does that box take without your computer
One for each box section on the locks, power top, 2 power drawers, so 7, but some plug into the back of the power top
love this. when you get all your tools in it do a tur and tell us how you orginise it.
Dude that is awesome, really good colour choice.
Hello and did you had to make holes on the top of the box for the hutch because I have stainless steel on mine
No mine wasn’t solid stainless, there’s access holes
Your box looks awesome
Thanks!
Hey boss man I like ur tool box 👍 quick question how did u set up ur computer or install ur computer to ur hutch
The Ultimate! Nice work on the video.
It looks great. Congrats. I hope you get many good years of use from it. Cheers.
Awesome box dude.
Awesome box brotha
What no fridge or microwave. Maybe your dealer will supply them. Great choice on it though.
It came out very nice I also have the same tv and set up less one side cabinet
hard work pays off man keep it up
What's the name of the song that was played in this while assembling
that is very awesome. Good for you!
Out standing. That is the baddest tool box on the planet. Freaking computer and all the power strips. Awesome dude. I know my pocket book ant that big but I am so envious. How long u think it will take to move the tools over.
Thanks! I’m doing it tomorrow along with doing another very helpful video😁👍
I cant wait for the move in video and tour
Thanks for the great videos.
Looks great man. Love the colors just hate that the matte colors show finger prints so easy I want to do matte black with all goss black trim so bad but my gloss black box is bad enough keeping clean 😂 can’t wait to see updates on the other stuff
Nice box. Enjoy it
Looks awesome man👍👍
Now I have toolbox envy haha
Nice! What computer do you use? I like the size of the desktop unit if that’s what’s on top of the hutch
Yes it is, I’ll be doing a review of that and all my accessories here soon
Very awesome setup
I've watched this video a dozen + times, what a great set up, every tech's dream. Do you still own it and are you still friends with captain Ron????
Unfortunately no I don’t own it still, lots has happened since then but hope to get another. And yes still great friends with Captain Ron👍🏻
Nice setup buddy i have the same but in extrem green and trim black. Its awesome. Congrats
I like that color combo too!
