I will have to agree with you on that ! I have his number saved in my phone and under “business” it reads “The Best Damn Snap On Dealer On Earth” haha ! He is a great guy and we are VERY blessed to have him as a dealer and also a friend. Snap On should have Hamilton teach “Customer Service” classes to all the other dealers !

Seems like everyone who complains about Snap On has never used their tools. Once you use a snap on ratchet, wrench or about anything you’ll never go back. The service is unbeatable as well. That wrench theory he explained was very well put! Never thought of it that way.

I used and own plenty of Snap On and Matco tools. I dont have a problem using other brands. Hamilton has a good theory on the price BUT, I can buy 3 HF ratchets for $70.00, if I break one I have another ready to go, dont have to wait for the snap on truck, then, on my leisure time, maybe while driving passed a HF store, stop in and trade in the broken one. Costs nothing and dont have to wait, oh, and if I break 2 in a week, I said I could buy 3. If I break a Snap On on monday afternoon, I might have to wait until Next monday morning to get it fixed. Buy 2 sets of everything from HF and you will never be without, waiting on a Snap On truck. Or that Matco truck who dont want to warranty anything.

@@chuckmiller5763 lol I used to say the same thing with mastercraft (Canadian HF) but I’ve come to learn the hours spent going from Canadian tire to Canadian tire looking for a socket or extension you need on warranty is a lot of time and fuel spent as opposed to calling the strap on guy and if he has it that day either him meeting me at the shop or me meeting him after work and if not as soon as it shows up on order I have it as opposed to hoping the 16 year old at Canadian tire actually ordered it and wondering how many months till it shows up

I use snap on tools everyday and I will still buy Icon over snap on. I’m not a heavy duty tech so I rarely break anything. Never cracked or broke a single icon or any harbor freight tool. Now I have only been a tech for about a year but I think it’s more a pick your poison type of deal.

The only issue is that I have to explain to morons that the HARDLINE Snap on stuff is NOT made in China. But the haters just wanna scream "China!!" every second. I have no idea where they got this misinformation....
Yes... the electronic stuff is made in China, lights, etc. But what company doesn't make that in China?? That has nothing to do with the hardline tools. I like the idea of tools that are made in the USA. Tell me I'm wasting my money or whatever. USA means something to me. From a guy who works on cars and depends on his tools daily. Thank you!!

If we had a snap on guy that came reliably and not once a month, and then decide to quit. We got a harbor freight right in town. I don't even have to wait a day. Snap on is definitely high quality, but they are mostly just as strong as icon, tekton, Napa, heck even Stanley has some good stuff.

I couldn't agree more with every single word Hamilton said about Snap On hand tools and the amazing quality they consistently deliver from thier American workers, in American plants with American steel. I pay with a smile every time I buy one.. They are the best in the world.
    Unfortunately...lol
... Maybe it was that one-handed 10 year old Chinese girl who missed a solder joint on your polisher because we all know.. that sadly.. Snap On cordless power tools are not made by those same American workers, in American plants with American steel, and I don't think it's any mystery at all why you pretty much see 100% universal agreeance that Snap On hand tools are the best in the world while Snap On cordless power tools are the subject of so much debate and love/hate relationships. With the American made Snap On tools it is almost always love/love..
Snap On "PLEASE" when you rebound to take the crown back from Milwaukee do it in America like it always should have been...

    • @MrAnonymousRandom
      @MrAnonymousRandom 6 років тому +1

I wouldn't be so sure about the American steel part. Snap on rebrands a lot of stuff and I bet they can't vouch for all of their suppliers. The only two tool brands that I know of that openly claim to use American steel are Wright tool and Urrea, which happens to be Mexican. This is the first time I've heard this claim and if Snap on were open about it I would have heard about it already.

That’s what i thought too. I’m actually a HUGE fan of the CT761 impact guns. I love that little 3/8” beast i even went to snap on website to the online catalog and typed in the part number CT761 then clicked on the 3/8” impact tool only and went to specifications and went down to country of origin and i will be dang if it isn’t made in CHINA ! I thought just the battery but ...... according to the website it is also made there.
But i don’t know any 3-8” that is made in USA ?

I agree with virtually every thing hamilton said and recommended. His stuff is first rate. My wrenches are snap-on, ratchet a mixture of Cornwell, snap-on and Matco. The thing about good tools is they protect equipment and more importantly the technician. The cost involved with any major to, especially snap-on is the support network, it's priceless. Couple that with tools that don't destroy customer equipment and bust up a tired technicians hands and you have the biggest part of the snap-on value proposition

Also as far as cost, I'm sure snap on does an evaluation and factor in what they anticipate warranty breakage will cost them, and that cost is factored in as well. That said, once you've bought from the truck or have background testimony, just buy used. I've never had a problem getting warranty coverage once my rep was established. I have no qualms about letting someone else take the brand new price hit while I take the used price benefit. When that tool breaks, I still get a new one.

Hi I live up here in Canada and have been a fan of these tools for many years I took my training in 1964 and have a large collection of tools . When I bought my first garage I had a partner who was all Grey Bonny but he was always in my box because his grey couldn't get in some place. I do have one complaint I bought the first FAR 70 3/8 air ratchet to be sold in Canada my dealer picked it up in the States . It needs rebuilding and I can`t get the parts gotta say I loved that ratchet. I know it was noisy and not much power and the new ones are better but I loved it. I don`t have a shop any more but still do a bit of work from time to time I am 73 now so nothing too heavy. I enjoyed your video and look forward to more. Thank you.

And as far as the cost of having to go to the store and replace it, very few people i know would have to give up an HR of the work day to go to the store most people just stop by there in their time off. That's just my experience and thoughts about it. Great videos

I agree with Hamilton although I use mostly old sears craftsman and gear wrench and I’ve never really broke much but I also don’t use my tools for the wrong things. I don’t use screw drivers for pry bars I don’t hammer on my box wrenches to get the nut loose. I clean all my tools once a week. It’s all how you treat them. I do love my Zeus though and the people who complain are either jealous or can’t afford them. It’s that simple. People who work on their own cars maybe snap on isn’t worth it to them however the tools are well worth the money.

I like the square hard handle screwdrivers much more than the newer Instinct screwdrivers. I find the Instinct handles to be too thick for my hand and harder to grip and use. I'm average size so I concluded they were made for bigger guys. The hard handle screwdrivers are nearly indestructible and clean up easily. The Instinct plastic is softer and gets gouged more easily and doesn't clean up as well. Neither screwdriver type rolls when set down. Proof that the hard handle screwdrivers are superior is Snap-On brought them back. When has than happened before?

#1 and #2 I agree with 100% if you're a mechanic and you don't have both you're wrong. There's an endless list of the things you can do with these two power tools even as a beginner mechanic. I never leave the shop without them.

Great top 10 list. Only thing I don’t have is the Apollo scan too. But I have used a buddies. Super nice. Once it’s in the budget I will have one. I started out wrenching on my race cars and what not out of my garage and got hooked up with snap on guy local and he has no problem stopping by my house on his Tuesday route. Snap on. Hands down best tools and best service.

Yall got 1 heck of a SNAP-ON dealer. The ones around here are worthless and tough to deal with. Thank God I get the SEP Discount going to school. I can just order everything at 50% off and shipped right to my door. By the way this accounts in my wife's name... lol.

I'll leave ol Snappy to the automotive mechanics since Snap-On is shoved down their throats with the ASE certs. When you're ready to fix some serious machines; planes, industrial, commercial... Very few care about the Snap-on truck. Yes, your Bowing 747's are fixed by more Harbor freight tools than you'd like to imagine. I use Husky tools where I can. They almost never break, they perform very well, and I exchange them no questions asked while enjoying a cheese burger in under 15 minutes, not 2 to 4 weeks. No one steals my tools, if they did snag a socket or two, well $3 and minutes later, replaced.

The down side to getting a Snap on tool warrantied is you step back on the truck and feel obligated to buy something else. 35 dollar wrench now just cost 335 dollars.

That's the great thing about your videos. Even though a tool presented as new in your video isn't new 6 mo's later, the info is still as relevant as it was. Thanks for these videos. I learn a lot and really enjoy em. Catch ya on the flip driver, Sneakysnake is west bound and down! I would have loved to see Hamilton's face when he is at home, watching your video and sees Wild Bill fake steal that torque wrench. Still laughing!

I was refused warranty when my ratchet wore loose but they honoured the warranty when on the same ratchet I pointed out the chrome was peeling off. Warranty was often a hassle here in Canada.

LOL 13:35 is some really creative ‘ciphering and justification. That’s how we make the math make sense to us, but it’s never as fiscally sound when it’s said out loud. I think if we gave him a few more minutes he could’ve explained how buying Snap-on actually left you with more cash when you step off the truck.
    Hamilton is a legend.

I can't watch videos as fast as you make them, Clay. The software is sooo expensive from Snap-on.They've got you by the short hairs when you buy one of their scanners......
As always, love your videos. Also love Hamilton referencing your videos. 600 ft.lb. was a big surprise for that 3/8" drive air wrench! If I got as close to the door as Bill did with that torque wrench I'd be long gone! Haha!

I'm a marina technician with 20+years experience I grew up in auto and marine shops I've seen 1 snap-on wrench break.. yes 1
I've seen craftsman 5/8 wrench open end flex on a nut and round it and not come off took a 5/8 snap-on wrench on that same rounded nut and took it off without slipping on it once... I was 15 when I seen that and was sold on quality tools. The only ratchets/wrenches/sockets other than snap-on I'll buy is matco I've got 3/8 sockets sets I bought when I was 20 years old I'm 38 now still have those 4 sets of sockets I've cracked a couple over the years using them on inpacts I feel that's expected when using crome sockets with an inpact. Matco wrenches are as good as snap-on and are a little less $$$ like .50-.75 cent less lol. As for the ratchets snap-on has the best by fare matco's are the next best and the rest are junk I don't care what anyone says... and he'll no the harbor fake are not better your not a mechanic if your trying to tell me that. Mac's won't last a week you'll be getting it fixed the next time you see the mac man craftsman also junk. grearwrench better than mac, craftsman, harbor fake but still shit. ..
