I'm reading The City of God right now by St Augustine. The parallels in America sure sound familiar right now.
Great book
And unfortunately the church has been shouted down to pretty much silence on these two subjects, I also pray that this would become again a topic that people are not afraid to highlight in an dout of the church because the destruction of the family that has occured exactly because of these two issues and when you try to speak up society continues to shout you down even though it can see it is being destroyed.
It’s going to take great courage from both Priests and the laity to speak up. I think more and more people are waking up, I know I did two years ago. Don’t lose hope.

Do they really think they are being destroyed though? It seems that they think they are evolving. Complete delusion.
The Church is now pretty compromised by the Marxist globalist one world government and religions all watered down to basically the same one world religion with different names movement.
The church has chosen to stop preaching the Word of God. They have not been shouted down per se.
Dr. Hahn, you are a blessing to the Catholic Church. In 1998, I came back to the Church, in part, because I listened to a 3 part audio you did that was posted on Catholic Answers. I would literally watch a UA-cam video featuring you changing a tire. Thank you for your amazing witness to our Lord and HIS Church!

In 1970 ( public school) the curriculum started watering down history, English, Social studies and called it Humanities. At 14 I knew it was wrong. I heard, “ I won’t teach vocabulary because I hated vocabulary in school.” My 3 besties and I would hide and quiz each other with the Readers Digest vocabulary. Jeans started to be allowed at school. Everything was open on Sunday. The Same girls and I were late to work on Sundays because we wouldn’t miss Holy Mass. “Free Love” was the mantra of the day. By the time Catholic college rolled around, you could get any drug anytime you wanted it. Friends left the Seminary THEN - citing “ things are going on there you don’t want to know about”. They wouldn’t elaborate. I could feel my safe life starting to crumble and knew life wasn’t the way I pictured it. School preached celibacy and the value of marriage yet, I don’t believe the young men absorbed it, even on a first date the subject of sex was always brought up. I often wonder if I missed a calling at 8 years old when I begged to go to Catholic Elementary; but my loving learned parents couldn’t afford it nor the 20 minute commute one way. I don’t know what happened to the world, but I think school indoctrination is one serious problem. I am frightened for my grandchildren, whose parents have not stayed with the Church, though they were raised Catholic. I pray everyday, like never before that the Heavenly Father graces them, like all families in this situation, with the Holy Spirit that they be rekindled with His Love and Mercy.
In the 1970s the Illuminati came to my small church town and devastated families. The order of nuns left the local Catholic school and a poor quality of lay teachers came to teach. At the same time, divorce was spreading across the USA, drugs and promiscuity and the absence of God in our schools. I suspect the Illuminati did this across the USA. These people worship Lucifer, only care about money, destroying the family and ultimately our souls. Pray that Jesus Christ (Yeshua) helps and saves America because we are under attack by the devil.
Humanities is a subject category in academic studies that goes back in history to at least the Renaissance. It encompasses fields of study such as geography, history, linguistics and language, literature, art, philosophy and the law. Theology is also sometimes included in the subject arena of the Humanities. The method of analysis in the Humanities requires critical thinking skills.
The other subject category of academic studies which possesses the same ancient credentials is what is now called the Sciences (or, more accurately, the Natural Sciences) which would include such things as physics, chemistry, mathematics, astronomy, and biology - the so-called "hard sciences." The method of analysis used the Natural Sciences requires empirical thinking skills.
In the past, the disciplines taught in both the Humanities and the Natural Sciences relied heavily on rote memorization, task repetition, and parsing from part to whole (phonics, times tables, sentence diagramming, spelling etc.). As the students became more adept in learning, classroom discussions between teacher and student - as well as between student and classmate - often employed a Socratic methodology of query and response so that knowledge became something that could be shared and celebrated. We don't teach like that very much anymore even at the highest levels of academia.
What happened back in the 70's and 80's in America though - especially at the public high school level (and now increasingly at the grade school level) - is that specific subject areas such as geography and history ceased being taught using the old disciplines. Instead, they were blended together under an umbrella called the "Social Sciences," which applied elements of the Natural Sciences such as statistics and demographic analysis to subjects that were once separately taught. Social Science makes heavy use of political, racial and Marxian analysis, which often points students to accept as being proper presumptive and foregone conclusions relating to the subjects being studied. That's why most US high-school graduates couldn't point out where Afghanistan is on a map if their life depended on it, or who fought who (and why) in the American Civil War. The Language arts have also suffered. Many students graduate without being able to write a proper sentence much less a full paragraph in their own native language. An unfortunate number of university-level students can't spell, can't speak with calm authority, and can't think their way past the nonsense they've been taught. These former students-now-adults are memory deprived of basic knowledge and incapable of calculating without computerized gadgets, having to "google" or ask "Alexa" to get an answer. They can't think for themselves.

Have you seen Father Donald Calloway’s book Consecration to Saint Joseph? My husband and I read through the 33 daily readings and prayers together over our children, and are praying daily for their return to the Church.
Hilaire Belloc in "How The Reformation Happened" stated the same conclusion it takes 3 generations to recrystalize society from a fluid state. In his analysis Catholicism wasn't rejected until the grandsons of the reformers took power.

We are in dark, frightening times. Instead of focusing on all the "worldly, temporal" confusion currently happening, I choose to use the precious time & energy I have been given by God, to draw close to Him. To ask for wisdom, discernment & protection in these grim times. Discussing, analyzing, worrying about what is happening is a waste of time. What will happen, will happen. God will triumph and we should be more concerned with our eternal lives than our temporal ones. Life here is about to become the thing of nightmares --- I would rather focus all my energy on life after I leave here. God is giving all of us the merciful opportunity to draw close to Him, while there is still time. We should place ourselves in Our Blessed Lord Jesus' Sacred Heart, and under the mantle of Our Blessed Mother. May God, in His mercy, grant us all things we will need to remain His faithful "remnant," no matter the cost required here and now.

You are leaving your brother behind.
God says to love one another as He has loved us.
So we need to engage, so that we can bring as many souls to heaven with us that we can.

My point is not to waste time on what cannot be changed. If you read my comment, I did say that I prayed that God would give us all that we needed to remain His faithful remnant. Nowhere did I say we should abandon anyone. My prayer was & IS that God would help us ALL. Perhaps I should've included "helping my brothers & sisters." I guess I assumed anyone reading my post would have understood that. Pax.

Good book. We have some more concrete explanations now for why he was right. It's been shown in a study that pair bonding is impaired the more sexual partners a person has before marriage. From this, more unhappy marriages, cheating and divorces and broken homes. Also, men lose motivation to be more productive, when family ceases to be a goal.
We gotta turn this back before Civilization collapses.

This is the hypothesis in Friedrich Engels' The Origins of the Family, Private Property, & The State. The idea in the book is that capitalism is intertwined with the greedy, accumulative nuclear family that wants to own stuff & pass it down to their family, & that, according to Engels & his sidekick Karl Marx, is a very bad thing that must be dismantled & replaced with a socialist state that tells us what we need & provides it for us. So, in order to smash capitalism, we first must methodically set out to destroy the nuclear family. Engels' goal is clearly reiterated in the mission statement of Black Lives Matter.
Intriguing and the biblical confirmation makes it even more so! Society needs to wake up chastity before and in marriage are essential to society - they are the foundational structure of society.
