    I have exactly the same issue as Ron and almost the same iron yardages. When you’re in your new facility in Mississauga, I’ll be heading in to see Chris and company. I have the C6 shaft in my Rogue driver and it’s completely changed that part of my game for the better. It feels like a secret weapon.

    Best ever season at 64, that gives me hope and I am a decade younger.
    I love hybrids. I recently got fitted for G410s in 19 degree & 23 degrees. I was astonished about how much longer they were than my 19 degree F7 hybrid - the 23 degree Ping is at least as long, probably 5 yards longer, than the F7 (which was only a couple of years old). TM M6 is another really impressive hybrid for me.
    Like Ronnie I struggle a bit with the 5i - I may swap it out for another hybrid say around 26-27 degrees

      I love the Taylormade M 6 hybrids. I have a complete set of them. They completely put my game in a really great place. I tried the Ping G 410's but strangely enough they were not as good of a match for me. I just didn"t hit them as well. I am curious as to the why. I might not ever know. Spider Dubiel

    It always come to mind when watching the Tour Experience Golf Fitting if an option is available to document your fitting as part of the experience? Has this ever been looked into at TXG I say this because the level of interaction between fitter and player is incredible. Thanks Ron Matty and Ian appreciate the looking glass into a fit at TXG. 👍

    Whisker can bring the Party hats and I will bake the Cake lol
    Being of a similar age to Ronnie I always look forward to his Fittings to see how similar our Club setup is. I dropped my 5 Iron this year and now have 6 Iron, 22deg and 19deg hybrids and find that gives me the correct gapping and eliminates any duplication in the Bag.

    Great video. I have just started playing golf this year in June. My handicap hovers around 11-12 now, and I think it is time for a custom fit of clubs, as I am currently using old irons lent to me by friends. Shame I am not in the US otherwise I would definitely come see you guys, as I have enjoyed your videos the last couple of months. I will find a good local fitter to me, and hopefully they have a similar setup to you with the wide array of shafts/clubs to try, as I am not bothered by brand, just something that is suited to me.

    This was fascinating. The choices for myself came down to Ping G 410s or Taylormade M 6 hybrids. Now I play a complete set of hybrids. For myself I found that I hit the M 6 hybrids insanely better. They are a much better match for me. I find myself wondering why I hit the M 6 hybrids so much better. I am a senior and don't have a huge swing speed but I do okay. Recently I fitted myself with some help to a Taylormade M 6 Type D driver. I figured I needed a light senior shaft and tried a couple of the options. Ended up with the Evenflow red one. That helped the driver come alive for me. I am blown away by the accuracy too. Between the Taylormade hybrids and driver my game is in tremendous shape now. I was one over par my last round. I also added a # 5 Ping G 410 wood to the bag which is an adjustable wood. Nice review gentlemen. This is wonderful stuff. If you were in Connecticut I would be visiting you guys for sure. Be well and thanks for another amazing video Ian and Matt. Spider Dubiel

      @@davidhyland6462 I had the Taylormade M 6 type D driver for a while. I liked the way it played but was not crazy about the adjustment set up on it. My fitter decided to have me try a Ping G 410 Plus driver and thats finally what I ended up with. I am using one now but the shaft is almost 46 inches , way too long for a guy who is 5 ft 7 inches. My fitter is having Ping make me the G 410 plus driver with the 40 gram Distanza shaft at 44 inches even.

    Interested to see what's coming down the pipe that you guys referenced in the end. Also nice see talk of bag set up now a days being more untraditional. You guys must be mind readers or something. This came at a great time! I'm currently playing my Cleveland 588 Forged CB's and ball striking has improved dramatically. The 5 iron is 27 degrees and is about 160 carry. I have three spots to fill between it and the driver which is 220-230 carry. A little lost on how I should approach this and the gapping. Any recommendations would be great. Keep up the great work fellas! Best golf content on UA-cam!

    The message as stated is use what works for you and your comfortable with. there is nothing wrong with a placebo either. I think it was Sam Snead or someone of that vintage who played a real “hotch potch” of irons purely based on comfort and what worked. Later when the swing weights were tested they were all the same.

    Loved the video and although I'm 20 years younger than Ronnie I feel a connection through our scores.
    I play 3-6 in hybrids and it's helped bring my scores down from 100-110 to mid 80's-mid 90's
    My hybrids & irons are over 10years old and I'll look to replace in the winter.
    Is it wrong to start the fitting for the hybrids and go as high as possible before then setting up the irons?
    I know the new Epic Flash hybrids go all the way to 8. I'm not really interested in shaping my shots, more hitting a consistent shape.

    Question for you boys, how come when I demo irons I only ever normally have the option to hit one iron from the set?
    I would love to be able to hit a PW, 7 iron and 4 iron before I make my choice!

    • @clubchampionmedia
      @clubchampionmedia  5 років тому +1

      Uncommon to have full sets available for demo, most shops fit off the 6 or 7 iron. Logistically just not realistic to carry more irons for each of the many models carried. (especially somewhere like TXG with 30+ models)

    • @ianfrasergolf
      @ianfrasergolf 5 років тому +1

      Hey Paul, at TXG, we have 110 iron shafts. We would need 330 shafts if we carried 4i, 7i and PW.

    • @paulbown3960
      @paulbown3960 5 років тому

      Ian Fraser
      Completely understand but buying a whole set of irons based on one irons performance can be hard!
      For instance currently play Titleist CB’s and have never hit a 4 iron better from that set. I never knew I would get on so well with that 4 iron after hitting the demo 7 iron. Now I’m thinking of moving on to something a little softer but I’m worried I won’t find another 4 iron like that. Keeping the 4 iron is the obvious solution!

    • @ianfrasergolf
      @ianfrasergolf 5 років тому +1

      Paul Bown It needs to be part of the club fitters skill set to determine whether the player has the appropriate delivery/speed to make the set work at the recommended composition.

  • @tomross2666
    @tomross2666 5 років тому +1

    Respectfully, it seems to me that a higher lofted fairway wood would be better here, such as the G410 9 wood. I think Ronnie’s descent angle could be much improved with a wood over a hybrid.

    • @davidhyland1808
      @davidhyland1808 5 років тому +1

      I agree it would definitely be something I'd like to see them test. But there's no guarantee that will lead to more consistency. The longer shaft and less control may actually lead to the opposite. I have a m6 9 wood myself and I love the height and dispersion, but it may soon be leaving my bag. Inconsistent strikes are leading me to look for the same loft hybrid.
