Someone in Capcom leaked that they're working on 4 RE games between 2021 and 2024 and Outbreak is on the list, fingers crossed one of the games turns out to be a Code Veronica remake.
REsistance actually had it's story mode cut and was packaged with RE3 because of the massive fan backlash after it's reveal. RE3make actually wound up being cut down due to a lack of directional focus and constant infighting from the subsidiary studio that it was outsourced to. This also works in conjunction with the scrapped build of REmake2 because of the fact that the original build was "too similar" to the original game and since 3make was being developed around the same time that actually puts everything in place for why 3make and REsistance turned out how they did.
I really wish resistance wasn't packaged with RE3 remake since it doesn't matter if you like it or not it caused alot of people to hate it irrationally and blame it for them hating RE3 remake

remastering outbreak would be hard task since its..you know a quite old game, the closests to HD graphics you would see in a remaster of outbreak would be perhaps the graphics of the RE1 remake, so i'd reckon a remake is more akin to that

The references that I can think of are 1- Martin says to Daniel at the start "Are you uh a real villain" a reference to Lazy Town famous song "we're number 1" and also Martin says sometimes "We're number one" as all survivors escape the exit gate. 2- Nickolai to Sam "Your body is not invincible like iron" a reference to Street fighters. 3- Annette says "it was all a mistake, but I can erase that mistake" a reference to Robocop. 4- Daniel says "who is an idiot sandwich now?" as stepping into his traps. As someone who has played this game for months and still continues to, despite how awful the games can get on PC nowadays, I wanna thank you so much for being supportive of this game! It means a lot to my friends and the Resistance community as a whole!
I've wanted to try resistance and really get into it because it seems like I would enjoy it. I play it on Xbox but my God it's just so so hard. To find a decent team and then I'm not even talking about like try hard I'm just talking about making it out of the first room.
I'm so glad you were able to showcase this game with this series. I know the game is horribly unbalanced, but I play almost everyday for the dailies still. Shame Capcom treated this game the way they did. So much fun in its simplicity.
@@UTF016 Probably because they're usually plenty of fun and offer a way to take advantage of the gameplay mechanics, since usually ammo conservation isn't the main focus. Normally you'd want to avoid as many enemies as you can but in something like the mercenaries or raid mode you get to be more aggressive and hunt them down, and if you want good scores you gotta play smart and learn spawns, among other things so that you don't lose a combo or something. Not liking it is fine, but calling it shitty because you personally don't like it or can't seem to get good at it is something else xD

Great video Kai, I really liked hearing about each of the characters backstories. The stories add so much more substance to the game, wish there was a story driven narrative now. But hey hopefully a resistance 2. Also there's so many references and Easter eggs I didn't realize existed. Great work. And Yateveo's backstory 👌

Well according to the Capcom leak, they plan an RE4 remake but not an Outbreak. No Dino Crisis either. (Honestly RE4 doesn't need a remake yet, this is just cashing on the RE train while they still can)
No more than 5 minutes for matchmaking... it was actually pretty fun. I only really needed help for ONE trophy, all the others were easy to get with randoms.

A shame about the story mode being cut as I don't play online and it would have been nice to have some kind of offline mode so I could have played, like Raid mode in the Revelations titles. Saying that hopefully this finally pushes a remaster of Outbreak 1 and 2 to release because it's about time fans got that!
Yeah, you pretty summed up how I feel about this game @monkeybone. There are only a few games that I play online mostly because I prefer single player games. So when story mode was not included I just lost all interest. Happy that there are videos like this to keep me updated.

They were joking that Resistance would get a story mode. The way they announced RE3 Remake in the State of Play a few months later was the reveal of Resistance's story mode and then it was shown to be RE3 Remake.

There was a story mode, its RE3R, even in the State of Play where RE3R was shown, Resistance was shown and the voice of State of Play even said "We got an exclusive reveal of the unannounced campaign portion of Capcom's Project Resistance", and then showed the first reveal trailer of RE3R.
Another great video. Players didn't really appreciate the game for what it was; this is a much better game that others in its genre like Friday the 13th and Predator Hunting Grounds.
I think the problem lies with the fact that it's sold with RE3 remake. I can see the game being fun, but the fact that RE3 remake was such an underwhelming remake really left a bad taste in my mouth. Resistence shouldve been a standalone game. Because RE3 pretty much discouraged me from playing it

i honestly didn't wanna give this game a chance but i gave in and played a couple of matches as Annette, and had so much fun bring the zombie apocalypse upon survivors. such a shame because this game had so much potential, and all the characters were super likeable and memorable. i really hope we can see them in future games.
If Capcom was smart, they could've salvage all assets from REsistance, from maps, models and monsters, and Frankensteining them back into RE3R. Because that game desperately need contents. They could've splice REsistance Downtown and Uptown map into RE3R Downtown map, extending Spencer Memorial and NEST2 with Research Facility map. Adding Casino, Prison and Amusement park as an optional area to explore. At least do something to extend our playtime and make up for all the content cut from the original RE3.
Hello Kai, great work! There's quite a lot of interesting things you pointed out that I had no clue about. The level of detail Neobards put in with all of the easter eggs and references really is quite amazing. I had managed to cross paths with you the other day on Resistance on a Prison match while I was playing Spencer, which was a pleasant surprise! It is a serious bummer how things with Resistance turned out, I hope as well that it will return in some way shape or form in the future. The whole assymetrical concept Neobards had with the Mastermind role was way too cool and unique for no one to pick back up and run with in the future. And the game just had so much potential to be refined and expanded upon over time. I was really looking forward to Albert Wesker, Ramon Salazar and Osmund Saddler joining in at some point to really shake things up with all of the new enemy types and Bioweapons they would have brought along. Anyways, I appreciate the work and passion you put into your videos, and show for the series in general. Looking forward to future content!

This video got me more interested than RE Resistance itself. Maybe the offline mode they talked about it was Resident Evil 3 Remake. That's why producers were so evasive giving further details and fans couldn't find any datamine.
Great video, there are some things I had no idea about even after playing for 2000+ hours. However there was never single-player mode planned, Capcom just teased RE3 this way, RE3 was even announced as a single-player component of Resistance.
Man you mentioned Erza and it just makes me think how much I'd live to see RE1.5 or a revision of it so it could be cannon, or atleast get Erza in the games somewhere with a similar background to the og Erza

I absolutely love Resistance. I mostly play a few matches every couple of days to keep my skills honed. I'm always playing as Valerie, I love her, such an adorable character (she must be protected at all costs) and I also love playing as support/healing Characters in these kind of games like Dead By Daylight, Friday The 13th etc. I'm also partial to play as Becca and January too if Valerie is ever taken. 😊💛 Great list of facts and secrets, dude. I always love this kinda stuff which I previously never knew. Keep up the great work. 😊💛
But I suck at support characters lol I think it's super rare to meet someone that actively chooses to play support and I like it when I hear someone that does!

I would like to do Let's Plays though at some point. I've had quite a few S Matches as Valerie, it would be nice to have the matches recorded so I can post them. I always thought when I got into multiplayer games that I'd be the bombastic automatic fire gun guy 😂 But playing as Valerie in Resident Evil Resistance, just makes me feel fulfilled that I'm keeping the teams health up when no herbs are available. In Dead By Daylight, I'm mostly playing as jogger Meg, normally carrying either a First Aid Kit or a toolbox so I can lend my support as much as I can. But in Friday the 13th; I played as Jenny in that game, I'm more of an opportunist in that game seeking out car or boat parts while the others go around in a tight group attracting Jason... BUT I always hunt down Jason's cabin so I can use Pamela's Jumper to control Jason to keep the others safe at a pivotal moment in the match. I've got all of Jason's cabin locations marked down from the times I played as him. Such a coincidence indeed; I'm really surprised there's someone out there who streams the same games I'm interested in. 😊
I don’t care what all the haters say, I loved Resistance so much. It’s seriously one of my top 3 RE games, the amount of fun and joy I had from such a wacky Resident Evil game is way up there. I threw as much money at it as I could, definitely more than a standard RE Game. Capcom never officially said it did horrible, and we never saw what DLC sales figures were like. So here’s to hoping the Highway lives on, thanks Neobards for the fun ass year ❤️
I wish this game had more quality control on PC. Not sure how it fared on consoles but after a while, hackers ran wild and the lag in the game was unbearable.
These are some nice goodies to know about, I did like that my influence for the game did take effect as I found the Birkin Family photo in Downtown and they replaced it with old photo, also the man at the desk was a reused model of Chief Irons. I'm not sure if it's still him or if they had changed it, all of this was back in the Closed Beta days.
I’m sure someone mentioned this in another comment, but the last point about the “story mode”, I’m pretty sure it’s not entirely true. From what I remember from back when the game was announced, it was teased and announced long before RE3 (a few months), with gameplay and stuff and in all interviews they said “there is an offline story component”. In the State of Play where RE3 was revealed (which can still be found online), they even announced it as “A look at the offline single player campaign for Resident Evil Resistance”. My understanding back then was that there was never an offline campaign, the plan was always to have RE3 and Resistance bundled together and the “offline campaign” was a marketing ploy to tease RE3
I can see how Vanessa could Yoko’s roommate. They have a lot of similarities. It is also a big coincidence that both of them suffered from memory loss.
This game was fun I wish it got more attention maybe a separate release at a lower price(even tho it was for free when you bought RE3REMAKE) it has a lot of potential and coulda been canon as there is evil Umbrella doing these types of experiments
I think the Slot machine might have a animated picture of a street fighter character kicking a zombie near the top, I couldn't see it super well in the video but I have a hunch there's a reference there.

With a sole focus and some tweaks to the survivor play style, it could have been a sort of successor to Outbreak.

There was a story mode, its RE3R, even in the State of Play where RE3R was shown, Resistance was shown and the voice of State of Play even said "We got an exclusive reveal of the unannounced campaign portion of Capcom's Project Resistance", and then showed the first reveal trailer of RE3R.
Another great video. Players didn't really appreciate the game for what it was; this is a much better game that others in its genre like Friday the 13th and Predator Hunting Grounds.

I think the problem lies with the fact that it's sold with RE3 remake. I can see the game being fun, but the fact that RE3 remake was such an underwhelming remake really left a bad taste in my mouth. Resistence shouldve been a standalone game. Because RE3 pretty much discouraged me from playing it

I kind of thought that the developers old reference to “story mode” was just their cheeky way of referencing how this was going to be sold with RE3. But back then I really hoped that the story mode they referenced was some kind of Outbreak-ish mode for the game.

You are absolutely right. Moreover nothing about single-player mode was mentioned in leaked production materials, it just was not planned.

I wonder if the “narrative mode” the devs were referring to was the main campaign for RE3. Either way, it’s a bummer. I think the characters had a lot of potential and the little story they did have was interesting.

i honestly didn't wanna give this game a chance but i gave in and played a couple of matches as Annette, and had so much fun bring the zombie apocalypse upon survivors. such a shame because this game had so much potential, and all the characters were super likeable and memorable. i really hope we can see them in future games.
If Capcom was smart, they could've salvage all assets from REsistance, from maps, models and monsters, and Frankensteining them back into RE3R. Because that game desperately need contents. They could've splice REsistance Downtown and Uptown map into RE3R Downtown map, extending Spencer Memorial and NEST2 with Research Facility map. Adding Casino, Prison and Amusement park as an optional area to explore. At least do something to extend our playtime and make up for all the content cut from the original RE3.
Hello Kai, great work! There's quite a lot of interesting things you pointed out that I had no clue about. The level of detail Neobards put in with all of the easter eggs and references really is quite amazing.
I had managed to cross paths with you the other day on Resistance on a Prison match while I was playing Spencer, which was a pleasant surprise!
It is a serious bummer how things with Resistance turned out, I hope as well that it will return in some way shape or form in the future. The whole assymetrical concept Neobards had with the Mastermind role was way too cool and unique for no one to pick back up and run with in the future.
And the game just had so much potential to be refined and expanded upon over time. I was really looking forward to Albert Wesker, Ramon Salazar and Osmund Saddler joining in at some point to really shake things up with all of the new enemy types and Bioweapons they would have brought along.
Anyways, I appreciate the work and passion you put into your videos, and show for the series in general. Looking forward to future content!

Man I really slept on this game. I beat RE3 Remake about seven times last month but I couldn't ever really get into REsistance.
I can see Resident Evil Resistance being canon in an alternate Resident Evil universe, but that's just me.
This video got me more interested than RE Resistance itself.
Maybe the offline mode they talked about it was Resident Evil 3 Remake. That's why producers were so evasive giving further details and fans couldn't find any datamine.

Great video, there are some things I had no idea about even after playing for 2000+ hours. However there was never single-player mode planned, Capcom just teased RE3 this way, RE3 was even announced as a single-player component of Resistance.

I absolutely love Resistance. I mostly play a few matches every couple of days to keep my skills honed. I'm always playing as Valerie, I love her, such an adorable character (she must be protected at all costs) and I also love playing as support/healing Characters in these kind of games like Dead By Daylight, Friday The 13th etc.
I'm also partial to play as Becca and January too if Valerie is ever taken. 😊💛 Great list of facts and secrets, dude. I always love this kinda stuff which I previously never knew. Keep up the great work. 😊💛

I've had quite a few S Matches as Valerie, it would be nice to have the matches recorded so I can post them.
I always thought when I got into multiplayer games that I'd be the bombastic automatic fire gun guy 😂 But playing as Valerie in Resident Evil Resistance, just makes me feel fulfilled that I'm keeping the teams health up when no herbs are available.
In Dead By Daylight, I'm mostly playing as jogger Meg, normally carrying either a First Aid Kit or a toolbox so I can lend my support as much as I can.
But in Friday the 13th; I played as Jenny in that game, I'm more of an opportunist in that game seeking out car or boat parts while the others go around in a tight group attracting Jason... BUT I always hunt down Jason's cabin so I can use Pamela's Jumper to control Jason to keep the others safe at a pivotal moment in the match. I've got all of Jason's cabin locations marked down from the times I played as him.
Such a coincidence indeed; I'm really surprised there's someone out there who streams the same games I'm interested in. 😊

I don’t care what all the haters say, I loved Resistance so much. It’s seriously one of my top 3 RE games, the amount of fun and joy I had from such a wacky Resident Evil game is way up there. I threw as much money at it as I could, definitely more than a standard RE Game. Capcom never officially said it did horrible, and we never saw what DLC sales figures were like. So here’s to hoping the Highway lives on, thanks Neobards for the fun ass year ❤️

I wish this game had more quality control on PC. Not sure how it fared on consoles but after a while, hackers ran wild and the lag in the game was unbearable.

These are some nice goodies to know about, I did like that my influence for the game did take effect as I found the Birkin Family photo in Downtown and they replaced it with old photo, also the man at the desk was a reused model of Chief Irons. I'm not sure if it's still him or if they had changed it, all of this was back in the Closed Beta days.
I’m sure someone mentioned this in another comment, but the last point about the “story mode”, I’m pretty sure it’s not entirely true.
From what I remember from back when the game was announced, it was teased and announced long before RE3 (a few months), with gameplay and stuff and in all interviews they said “there is an offline story component”.
In the State of Play where RE3 was revealed (which can still be found online), they even announced it as “A look at the offline single player campaign for Resident Evil Resistance”.
My understanding back then was that there was never an offline campaign, the plan was always to have RE3 and Resistance bundled together and the “offline campaign” was a marketing ploy to tease RE3
I can see how Vanessa could Yoko’s roommate. They have a lot of similarities. It is also a big coincidence that both of them suffered from memory loss.

This game was fun I wish it got more attention maybe a separate release at a lower price(even tho it was for free when you bought RE3REMAKE) it has a lot of potential and coulda been canon as there is evil Umbrella doing these types of experiments
I think the Slot machine might have a animated picture of a street fighter character kicking a zombie near the top, I couldn't see it super well in the video but I have a hunch there's a reference there.
