Thank you! Yes, it is fully loaded, but there are still tons of issues that need to be corrected to be 100%, but at least the engine is great now.
Good video, nice save. Goes to show that these engines aren’t always done for when the chains go.
I think the wastegete failure saved this engine and when the previous owner was trying to repair the throttle body, it skipped on start up. Got unbelievable lucky though

Tell me about it. After doing it twice, though, it wasn't that bad, but needing all the extra tools is not cheap
I used to drive a TDi mk6 jetta and man the way this looks makes me wish I still had it. Those wheels suit ir very well.

So,why was the engine locking up when u turn by hand.What was the issue?
Was waiting for someone to ask me, I honestly have no clue, I can only assume it was possibly where the valves originally hit the pistons, but while it was cranking with a dead battery. I got super lucky after a few rotations it freed up nicely.
