ADVENT LYRICS :
It was all true
A parlour strode, and the night sets forever
I stray in the quiet cold
And you gird me when I dare to listen
Elastic meadow, endless arms of sorrow
Lips try to form "because"
Trying to adapt to the wilderness
Where even foes close their eyes and leave
We are inside the glade
Every now and then I wipe the dust aside
To remember...
How I drape my face with my bare hands
The same that brought me here
But you were beyond all help
The folded message that wept my name
Shadows skulk at my coming
We survey the slopes
In search for the words to write the missing page
The tainted dogma
Time grows short
As the piper plays his tune
We are almost there
You are beyond all help
Dancing into the void
We are almost there

Ohhh god...the bass!!! Mendez on beast mode 🙏🏻. johan De Farfalla gave really crazy innovative bass lines in this album.
Yeah such a shame he didn't play in other bands
1:11 - 1:18 Mikael and Frederick are dancing... Their movement were synchronised
You could make a whole album from all the ideas in this one song. What a advanture this is. Me and my girlfriend were analyzing it for an hour
Now THAT'S relationship goals. This song (conveniently called "ADVENT" haha) was the VERY first song I have EVER heard from Opeth back in 1999 This band was one of, if not THE first bands that made me start looking at music at a very analytical level.
Your comment was a year ago. I bet there's been a lot of analyzing over the years!
The compositions on Morningrise aren’t really cohesive pieces but it’s nonetheless a very enjoyable able because the individual parts are such high quality. Frustrating at times because you sometimes want the band to develop specific ideas a lot more. Each track is like a medley of an entire album. You could almost think of it as a library or index for progressive death metal.
"..Anal for an hour" is better😏
@@marcoberti6508 i'd rather not. also quit with the disrespect.
Morningrise is such a crazy album. On the one hand the tracks kind of meander from one unconnected section to the next; it would be a total musical failure of not for the fact that every ten minutes is brimming with more riffs, melodies and ideas than most metal albums.
Yes, the amount of Melodies, clean and hard riffs in the song structures are stunning.
You probably dont give a damn but does anyone know of a method to log back into an instagram account??
I stupidly lost my login password. I would appreciate any assistance you can give me.
@Beau Dwayne instablaster =)
@Peter Hendrix I really appreciate your reply. I found the site thru google and Im in the hacking process atm.
Takes quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
@Peter Hendrix It worked and I now got access to my account again. Im so happy!
Thank you so much you really help me out !
Morningrise and Orchid have their own unique sound, yet still undoubtedly Opeth. Love them, in fact I like ALL of their albums for one reason or another, they honestly dont have one bad album.
I just recently listened to both for the first time (I love MAYH to Watershed) and they're quickly becoming my favorite Opeth albums.
So raw and bloated yet still brilliant. A lesser band wouldn't have been able to pull them off without being labelled pretentious or meandering.
@@johnwhite8847 Morningrise will forever be in my top 5 Opeth albums, to me there's something special about it.
Orchid and Morningrise are masterpieces and deserve more love
everything after ghost reveries is lame piece of shit
@@bugraerkan2663 Stagnation is lame, especially when you are doing the same thing to please fans and not out of passion. I get that a lot of people don't like the change, I don't blame them for feeling that way, but in all honesty the band makes that decision.
This sounds so much better than the album. They need to remix this and orchid. The playing is so much tighter here and everything sounds so crisp. Really makes the song take off.
Not showing Mendez at all during the section at 10:00 is criminal. That part is fucking gnarly.
It’s like they deliberately ignored him. They showed everyone but him lol
Soo perfect! I would love to see them play this live in 2020
Do they still play their older stuff live?
@@alexanderheffernan2946 They rarely play anything from morningrise anymore. Mostly because åkerfeldt doesn’t like that album that much. It is indeed a flawed album. But advent, nectar and to bid you farewell are flawless! They play songs from My arms, your hearse and onwards pretty often live still
@@Lukkern another reason is that he cant growl anymore. his exact words on morningrise is that he thinks it's pretentious and the production is bad, but the songs are good. which i can agree to somewhat
Morningrise! What a gem from these legends even to this day.
Best bassist in the world hands down i truly beleive that
A masterpiece !
Love the way Fredrik plays the first riff of the song. It gives it a different feel.
Across the pond from over here, Opeth is the Dream Theater of Europe!...
All hats on ice for this outstanding performance!!!..
One of the Greater reasons to Adore the Morningrise Album
8:30 always makes me think of THOR just going all crazy in the Skygods Skies
🌩️⛈️🌩️⛈️🌩️⛈️🌩️⛈️
So cool to see live
Unbelievable ...
I can't stop it…🤘🖤
Amazing song
Amazing music lesson
if the album version sounded like this, i'd like this album a lot more.
Same.
Are they human?
Angels
Absolutely no
Half demon half angel
@@defibrilatorr moslty angels now.
Human at sight, monster at heart
Good lord
I reckon this is the best song on this performance. And that is a song which I don't like off the original album so that says something!
Even better in 360p
Fckin sick
Correct me if I'm wrong, but was this show in 2010 the last time they played any songs from Morningrise live?
11:37 anyone knows how he makes the guitar sound like that? Sounds like a violin
It's the volume knob, he's quickly hitting the note and turning the knob in a volume swell to get that sound
Volume knob swell. Lower the before you pick a note, raise the volume high right after you play a note.
10:25
Crap video quality but good audio.
Axenrot Mendez and frederick really breath this song new life. Axenrots double bass in that into is so perfect. Frederick is a much better guitar player than lingren, and Mendez brings such a more locked in presence that this type of music than the weird jazz stuff with that janky tone The original bassist was doing. This is opeths best lineup by a long shot. Best musicians Mikael has ever had working with him.
Tyler Jacobson Let’s not forget the keyboard magic Joakim has added since. Per was great, but Joakim is next level too. Everything about the band is next level nowadays though including the vocal performance
I said the new keyboardist has added a lot to the band SINCE AKA AFTER this concert
I almost cant fucking watchthiscause it doesn't show mendez at all! What the fuck!!#
The song is called Advent
@@entertherealmofchaosI don't really remember commenting that, but the OP probably miswrote the name of the song in the title and now fixed it.
@@PygmaApril You probably commented it because Akerfeldt says it with a weird emphasis.
@@toprak3479 Nah I remember now, it was a typo on the original title.
BUT in your defence, Mikael really does say it a weirdly sensual way.
@@PygmaApril Ad _VENT~_ :D
@@PygmaApril for the swedish word advent, that is actually the correct pronounciation
The intro is epic - also the part at 3:21 is so cool!!
The video looks like shit, but sounds awesome!
Agree!
Axe is so smooth!
God mikael
