I walked to the Albert Hall in the afternoon to see what was going on, and when I walked round the bakc, Mikael came out for a cigarette. I actually couldn't believe my luck. My first concert was an Opeth's concert, they've come 2 times to my country, first time I was in V.I.P, right in front of Martin the whole show, when they were playing The Grand Conjuration, in one part of the song when Martin is doing the Slap technique I was the only person in front of the stage pointing him with my hand while doing the ol' devil horns sign, i was moving my arm up and down to point him every beat that he slaps the strings, almost immediately he looked at me with a badass face and made an approval gesture with the head, im blessed since that day...
Rohann van Rensburg It’s not to cover mistakes. They don’t make mistakes. Noticeable ones anyway. I’ve got a lot of dvds of bands and they all do that. Smart bastards.
The fact that they are not shortening the outro means that every single note written is important and part of the song. This band is just the perfect synergy of raw talent, technicality, the perfect vocals (growling and singing) and hugely creative songwriting!
Oh man. I remember when I first bought this digipak of this album that included the making of DVD. I didn't listen to anything else for 2 or 3 months solid. Everyone in my life was forced to listen to it. Such a good album. And this song and Hours of Wealth especially I played often. But this song especially is just so perfect. It's an example of every single beautiful thing a metal song can be. An epic memorable intro, hooky catchy verses, intricate and talented guitar riffs, soulful drums, subtle keyboards, feelings, emotion, depth, anger, rage. It's the only song that could have a catchy, almost radio rock part, that goes into a black/death metal verse, into an instrumental beauty, into prog metal, into an ending you don't want to stop. It's just perfect. It's my prime example to anyone who doesn't understand what good metal is. 🤟🏻😁 #Opeth #GhostReveries #HarlequinForest

God I love this band. They're immensely talented. It's astonishing that they aren't that well known while talentless hacks are household names. Opeth should be far more known and successful than the likes of Cardi B, the Kardashians and whatnot.
Yah, Opeth should be a household name, but they're way too advanced for the masses. Opeth isn't something you can listen to with one ear. You have to invest time and multiple sittings to just get into an album. But once you get over the threshold, their music just grows and grows. The masses, even the metal masses, don't have the inclination to invest more than two minutes if they're not "fed". Opeth is one of a kind.
