  • I've come up with 14 preparation tips, advice, and suggestions to help you prepare for your Tiger Muay Thai training adventure!! I've timestamped the video below to make it easier to reference any section of the video :-)
    All of the advice and suggestions in this video also apply if you are planning to visit other training camps in the same area; such as Unit 27, Dragon Muay Thai, Chokchai, T&Y Muay Thai, and so on.
    We have spent 3 weeks trying different eateries, different training centres with different trainers, to get a good taste of the health and fitness culture here on Fitness Street (Soi Taied)
    It's a 25-minute video which pretty much covers the following topic areas (time-stamped below to make it easier to jump to the section you want to learn about). Toward the end of the video, I will provide a list of places you must eat at which provide outstanding healthy food options on their menu.
    Please SHARE this video to anyone you know that is planning a trip to Phuket to visit any of the training camps in the area (not just Tiger Muay Thai). This place is truly life-changing and not only will you get into shape but you will also meet friends for life.
    Here we go:
    0. Intro (00:00)
    1. Buy electrolytes from the pharmacy (02:58)
    2. Over-training (04:20)
    3. Basic First Aid Kit (06:21)
    4. Hand Wipes (07:25)
    5. Private Classes Vs Group Classes (08:30)
    6. Watch a Muay Thai Fight (09:45)
    7. Sunday "No Training" Days (Everything is Closed) (10:05)
    8. Scooter Hire (11:10)
    9. Onsite Vs. Offsite Accommodation (13:05)
    10. Equipment Hire or Purchase (Gloves, etc) (14:25)
    11. Nommy Frozen Yogurt (15:55)
    12. Laundry (40 Baht per KG) (16:30)
    13. Tourist Sim Cards (16:50)
    14. The best places to eat on Fitness Street (expanded below) (17:40)

      It's for Tiger and pretty much applies to most of the other training centres aswell... Based on all the questions I have been getting about it - it was just easier to throw it all into one video. • @BradNewton
      @BradNewton  5 років тому +1

      Packages with accommodation and food? Alot of guys have told me they'd rather do training only and stay somewhere nearby and eat the food off Soi Taied (fitness st). Phuket is hardcore but you have the luxury of the beaches/islands. In BKK, it is hardcore with no beach to run to on Sunday ;( and BKK gets full on with traffic during peak hour (can take several hours to cross the city!)

    Hey guys, Great video! I was wondering how you actually select which accomodation you want? Im looking on the website and you basically choose a package and pay, no choice of which camp or villa. Do you just choose upon arrival or do they allocate you? Cheers for all the info!

    • @BradNewton
      @BradNewton  4 роки тому +1

      I just checked their website... It appears as though you can select the accommodation type from the drop-down menu.
      I went here: www.tigermuaythai.com/online-booking
      And click on "choose accommodation"
      There are 5 options to choose from.
      Good luck :-)

    • @BradNewton

      If you are comfortable on a scooter, around 20 minutes or so to the south. The Patong side is around 30 or so minutes. Taxis only if you don't feel comfortable but they are expensive!

    Hi, i'm planning on going out there soon for 2-3 weeks for purely training. What is your recommendation for the amount of money to take and while you're out there what do you do with your money? Do any of the shops, restaurants and gyms take cards or do you need to take excess amounts of cash to last a few weeks?

    • @BradNewton
      @BradNewton  4 роки тому +2

      There are plenty of ATM machines there to withdraw from. I usually just withdraw what I need for the week. I wouldn't take 3 weeks worth of cash (unless you are travelling to a less developed country where ATMs are few and far between, and not reliable). Pretty much the bigger training centres have eftpos machines - so you can usually pay for your training on card. Private sessions at some gyms, I'll pay cash.
      With food (at smaller restaurants), I usually just pay cash. Budget for around $20-30 USD per day for food (modest). You can do it cheaper it just depends on how fancy (western) you are with food choices.

    Hi Brad,
    do you have a video or a guide on the daily prices?
    I would like to go to Tiger Muay Thai, but I don't know wether I have enough money for 4 weeks. I intend to take the all-inclusive basic package (all classes, accomodation, prepaid meal card). How much food will the meal card cover? How much money do you spend on a daily basis for food and stuff?
    Do you need equipment aside from gloves?

    • @BradNewton
      @BradNewton  5 років тому

      To be honest, I don't have a daily price guide nor am I sure of how much food is covered. You are best emailing TMT. I think a daily food budget for the street for around $20-30 AUD is reasonable. You could go cheaper it just depends on how lavish you eat.

      Both are awesome. Tmt is more central! You'll meet more people (great for solo travelling) and is on the street where you have access to unlimited healthy food restaurants/cafes etc. Aka is a little further out and has no infrastructure around it (which is also great if you want the "training in a jungle" feel)

      I believe it costs around 900 baht for a "day pass" but if you are going just for the Muay Thai and want to taste it, I'd just to the drop in for a single class. From memory, it's around 400 baht. I made a travel guide video covering all the expenses around training on Fitness street for a month here - ua-cam.com/video/hHcgFBl2qW8/v-deo.html

    • @BradNewton
      @BradNewton  5 років тому +1

      Not as much as you'd like... It is very high turn-over, especially during the beginning of the week. There are trainers that float around and will correct obnoxious flaws in your technique. But getting a private session once you've spent 1-2 weeks working on your conditioning, is the best choice. One camp is on campus. Not sure about ALL of their camps but there are definitely a few that are within walking distance.
