Awesome the good old days !
GOLD! 77 was a great year from what I can remember !!!!!!
Thanks for posting something that's quite likely to be the oldest M.O. video ever - and in a surprisingly good quality.
Outstanding band
The quality of the video is amazing given it was 1977. What is also amazing is the performance of the band at such an early stage.
It was shot on 16mm film. Audio recorded to 4 Nagra tape recorders synced together.
Because it was shot on film.
Yeah, I was thinking the same.
This f.....ing amazing!!! The Oils at the old War and Peace Parramatta...LMFAO. That place was a blood bath every Friday and Saturday night..
Wow! Love those early day beards! Great band.
Priceless.
Absolute Gold !
This is fuckin' rare. Thank you so much for putting this up.
Stunner! Amazing performance!
Awesome. Check out Peter Garrett's crew cut.
thanks nzoz slower version mind blown 💥
Brilliant! Thank you so much for posting this!! 😃
Somewhere amongst my stuff I have a book with old photo's of many Aussie artist and there are a few early Oil shots with Pete and his crew cut blond hair.
This is a fantastic time capsule of early Oz rock cum of age, with Peter just beginning to perfect that "dance". Oils Rule!
Early Oils
I thought it was Mark Jacko Jackson singing for a second there!
Lol. Next song on the set was I'm An Individual.
Fucking brilliant goosebumps ssssssss
Raw.
Pete with hair??
Is this the oldest Oils clip on UA-cam ?
Wow. This is the earlier Midnight OIl video I have ever seen. Before their first album! Three years before I first saw them at Selinas in Coogee Bay. Awesome. I don't recognise some of them. Peter and Rob of course but is Martin Rotsey one of those bearded lads?? Andrew James? Don't recognise them.
Yes & Yes!
Moginie has the beard on the left. Rotsey, beard on the right. same lineup as the debut album
Wow. Amazing. Thanks.

How come theres no audience from a band that despised the so called video bands, which they so called dispised.
Sounds abit sky hooksy hey??
